El Rincon Chilango

I loved this place when it was El Patron. The next owner I think got me sick. But Rincon is my new favorite hidden gem! I’m an authentic taco snob, and this place hits the spot! Carnitas and Al Pastor tacos are so good! Chips and salsa are excellent as well! Will be back!

Hubby and I are originally from the West Coast, we moved to Michigan about 5 years ago, ever since then we’ve been on the search of an actual authentic Mexican restaurant, highly disappointed with “Mexican Town,” we’ve been sticking to Taco Trucks as we tend to find the food more appetizing than in Mexican restaurants. However, this place has become our go-to spot when we want to dine-in, in my personal opinion, it’s the most authentic restaurant we’ve found thus far. Flavor is there, the portions are generous, the dishes are what they are, they have that home-made essence to them; overall this place feels and tastes like home, highly recommended!

Some of the best Mexican food in the area. Much better than any taco truck around. Take a step off the beaten path and take a chance on this Pontiac restaurant gem! Great tacos, birria, al pastor, deshebrada. Great complimentary chips and salsas (4 of them!) to start your meal.

Amazing food and great service, a must if you're in the area.

I had the Mojarra (pictured), some pork tamales, and an orchata to drink. The fish was perfectly cooked with a nice crispy skin, accompanied with refried beans, rice, lettuce, and your choice of corn or flour tortillas. The tamales were great, masa was moist, the red sauce the pork is cooked in was very flavorful.

My friend's had their torta norteña, it's huge, and he said it was delicious.

I'll be visiting anytime I'm in the area.

The hot hot sauce was tasty and the carnitas tacos were excellent. Service was good and the place was super clean. My first time here, usually I go to the Carnival Market or to Sheila's, but Sheila's is take out only now and don't want to eat in the car. I want to try their pozole next time.

Delicious quesabirria tacos and menudo. Have repeatedly gone back for these two menu items. Full of flavor.

The food was amazing!! We came at 20 minutes to closing, was greeted with a smile and chips and salsa! You will not regret it! Smack yo mama good!!😂

Great atmosphere, safe. Place, good service. I would like to add a little bit more spices to my Food. I will most definitely go again. And I think they need more parking space.

The torta de al pastor was one of the best I've tasted in the states. The bread was toasted and the toppings included just enough spice to make it make it noticable.

For places like this, I go there straight for the food. Brother I tell you what!!!!! the food was straight fire!!!!. Birria tacos were 2x the size of a regular taco. She busted out that taco(s) and I was like “damnnnnn Homie that’s a big taco.” Also, they have Coca-Cola Refresco. Clean as hell too.

El Rincon in Pontiac, Michigan, is a hidden gem that truly exceeded my expectations as I was passing through the area. As someone who has had excellent tacos all across Texas I have to say the beef and tripe tacos I ordered were delightfully delicious, generously packed with a variety of fresh toppings and bursting with flavor and clearly made with love. The salsas, expertly crafted, were the perfect complement to the tacos. The quality of the food and the attentive service made it clear that these tacos are made with a genuine passion. El Rincon in Pontiac, Michigan, may just be the culinary jewel of the Midwest, particularly for taco aficionados.

I consider myself a wet burrito connoisseur and have had wet burritos from across the country. I have had a long-standing favorite now replaced with the wet burrito they offer here. It.....is.....fantastic. Their chips and salsa are great, and the staff was very attentive and pleasant. My wife and son who had accompanied me also greatly enjoyed their dinners. I highly recommend giving this little restaurant a try.

EL Rincón Chilango is such an amazing place! Family and friends used to come here when it was El Patron. Recently found out it opened and decided to come on a limb and it was the best decision ever!!! Food was super amazing and will definitely be coming back for more!!! Delicious food for reasonable prices!!!

Wow! Seriously good! Authentic and great service. The large Pozole is big enough for two. 😉

My first time here. So excited to try the real deal Mexican food. I ordered the nachos and let me tell you those were some of the best nachos I've ever had. That was until I remembered I had some red sauce to pour on top so I dumped it all over the top little did i know, it was HOT. Very very spicy. When the cashier asked me if I wanted red or green sauce I didn't think about it too much since I was in a rush to get back to work so I said red but that was a mistake. Y'all need a way to let us foolish white people know that red sauce is not to be messed around with. Should change the name of it to El Muerte Rojo. I was fighting for my life but still eating it despite the fact it's painful since it tastes so good. I will certainly be back here to try the gorditas and sopes and explore new dishes. Next time I will ask about the spiciness beforehand.

Best Mexican food around.

Just discovered this gem! Seriously delicious and they season their meat very well, not too salty or under seasoned. The place is super clean and they are very friendly! I personally think it is better than sheilas. Will definitely come back and tell my friends about it.
