Very Nice nature trail with a unique type of boardwalk and Interesting variety of plant life. You have to watch your step on the boardwalk. Water is higher than the boards in a couple spots. Not paved! Would Not recommend the boardwalk for those with balance issues. Bring mosquito spray. Be sure to see the Historic Oak tree near the entrance to the campground.

This is an am Amazing park! Well kept grounds and restrooms! We paddled the Dead River and saw some great wildlife! The huge Live Oak Tree was cool to see and just imagining the History that has passed by! Staff and volunteers were pleasant! Will definitely be back!

Small but great place. The campsites vary in sizes so be aware when booking. Cool little 1.2 mi hike. Check out the massive oak.

Beautiful park with nice walking trails and lots of room to explore. Beautiful picnic areas throughout the park with grills. Nice playground for the kids and a nice boat launch with plenty of parking. It is a state park, so there is a $5 charge to enter the park. Well worth it. There are camping sites here as well that look very nice and some nice and private. I enjoyed a nice hike to the large oal tree as well as thru the park itself. There is a nice trail by the playground. The trees are beautiful throughout the hike. Next time, I believe I will try some fishing.

Very small park, but the nature trails give you the impression of being in the middle of a jungle. Old Florida at its finest. Epic Boat rides is fabulous. I learned a lot from the very knowledgeable captain. The Park has the second largest live oak tree in Florida. All the trees are magnificent. Great playground too, including a swing for wheelchairs.

Came here for the 1st time by chance, after looking up parks where I can go sit down and study a few hours before an exam. I found a picnic table close by, studied a few hours in peace, and enjoyed the company of some friendly squirrels 😊 One of the rangers who was driving around in his golf cart was very nice and briefly told me about the boat tour, kayaking, and hike trail. Loved the place so much, I went back again a few weeks later with my mom and my daughter. We enjoyed a nice walk through the trails. Lots of parking and a clean and quiet environment. This will be my go-to spot when I need a breath of fresh air!
**And yes. I passed my exam! 😉 **

Was a great place to visit with it only being $5 a vehicle! Wonderful walking paths with great wildlife and plant life to see. Medium playground in the shade with a eating pavilion and bathroom right next to it. All trails are dog friendly for any size. Trails are mainly made of sand so might not be the best for stroller and wheelchair. The river on the park empties into Griffin Lake. There is a boat ramp very close to the entrance. There are several docks and a kayak/canoe takeout. Fishing is allowed on the water here. There is also a kayak rental beside the boat put in.

A quaint but amazing park! Friendly park staff, beautiful nature, and a cuddly/cute park friend. Getting to see a live oak older than the country itself was also an amazing experience. Highly recommend visiting!

Griffin Lake State Park is a beautiful park located in Leesburg, Florida. It costs $5.00 to get in. Our intention was to fish, but the water levels were low, and there was a park ranger draining water from the lake. The motor was so loud that it ruined the tranquility and peace that we were seeking. So, we left. Overall, it's a beautiful park but not for fishing. They offer boat rides and canoe rentals. There are picnic areas under a canopy of trees. There is a nice playground for the kids, too.

Nice park with camping and lots of day use areas. Fire pits, grills and picnic tables everywhere. Has some nice walking trails. Make sure you bring bug spray if you hit the trails.
Nice boat ramp and access to water activities.

$5 per vehicle is well worth it! The park is gorgeous. There are trails to hike that aren't overly long and the scenery is phenomenal. The boat ride does cost extra, ($25 plus tax per person) but that's an option you can choose to do or not. We did it and it was enjoyable. Don't forget to check out the 2nd oldest oak tree in Florida, it's massive!

Day stop - we were camping at another nearby State Park. Very nice Park - hiked the Cinnamon Fern Trail and did the 1.8m of the Spur Trail. Trail is seasonal and a section is prone to flooding. There is a board walk through most of the wet area but heavy rain could flood the board walk. Also, the trail is close to water and the mosquitos were out in force. No Park Store, not sure if the Ranger Station offers anything more than a Passport Stamp. The RV section has 40 sties, 78 are pull-throughs, 7 have sewer connections and 10 have 50amp power.

We looked online for a Florida State Park for Labor Day weekend. Blessed to have visited. Campgrounds are well maintained. Had a relaxing time. Saw lots of wildlife, and took a pontoon boat tour with Epic Water Boat Tours. Highly recommend.

This middle of the state lake was a fun place to hike trails and kayak. We saw lots of beautiful lily pad and birds. Definitely dark water and hidden gators. It was a peaceful place to explore. Oldest Live Oak tree in the state of Florida 300-500 years old! This was such a spectacular tree to behold! Loved it! 😍

A piece of Florida history with the second oldest and largest oak tree in the state. Beautiful and magnificent. Easy parking a short distance from the entrance and worth seeing. If you’re in the area, it’s a beautiful sight to behold.

This place has a nice RV park, but if you want to stay there, you better plan on making your reservations probably 2 to 3 months or more ahead. We drove through to see it and to use their RV dump. We're happy to pay the $7.50 they charge for the dumping. It's a nice park, and I also have a Eco boat ride which runs twice a day if I remember correctly. There are a number of hiking trails which are nice. It's A fine place to come for a day outing or even a couple days.

Beautiful place to bring the family, even pets! Just watch out for gators. There's kayaking, fishing, geo-caching, picnic tables, an amphitheater, and the largest oak tree I've ever seen.
