Sharon Rose Wiechens Preserve

Enjoyed a nice walk along a boardwalk that circled out over a small body of water. A wonderful place to see all kinds flora and fauna. We spotted some turtles, various birds with their babies and a lazy crocodile basking in the sun. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back during the sunset hour as I heard that's a beautiful time to be there.

Nice place to take a stroll and see some nature, maybe even an alligator, plants and wildlife. Gets pretty hot though, so before noon and after 5:00 or 6:00 is probably a better time. May need your bug spray too!

The preserve is peaceful and serene, but parking was a challenge. The preserve shares the very small parking lot with the dog park. They need a separate parking area. We saw lots of birds. Too bad everyone doesn't wear masks and enter in a clockwise direction to better adhere to social distancing while enjoying nature.

This is a wonderful place to go for some quiet time with nature and people. It is clearly posted that dogs are not allowed. There is a great dog park adjacent to the preserve though.

Beautiful boardwalk overlooking the water with wildlife and large lily pads.

Right next to the Preserve is a dog park. This way someone can stay with the dog(s) while the rest of your group walks the boardwalk and climes the lookout tower.

What a wonderful experience for us this week. Took little lady that I take care of "on an adventure" and we walked and talked the whole way. Birds, fish and turtles galore. Blessed to have Preserve so close!

What a great dog park! People are friendly dogs all get along just a great place to bring our baby to play!

Nice and relaxing walk on a boardwalk path around a pond. Lots of birds. This visit a Sandhill crane just had an egg hatch.
