Chicorys At The Palace Cafe

Decided to stop by on a Sunday after church, the special was BBQ Ribs, BBQ Chicken, Rice Dressing, Potato Salad & A Roll. The BBQ was grilled just well, tasted fresh, and compliments the rice dressing + beans. The waitresses were courteous and constantly checked on us making sure we were fine. Will be back again!

This is my new go to place for breakfast and lunch when I come to visit friends in the Opelousas area. Absolutely delicious and they will cook to your liking. Thank you to the ladies who made our breakfast and to our wonderful server. Love the authentic atmosphere of this place! Not sterile, like the city!

Such a great experience! Our server Alyssa was so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! We had the fried catfish dinner with fried catfish, mashed potatoes, green beans and a dinner roll and the fried chicken cordon bleu sandwich with fries. I've never had fried catfish nearly this good EVER and the fried chicken cordon bleu sandwich was jam packed with so much flavor! We also had the St. Charles white chocolate latte which was also super amazing!! The atmosphere of this fine establishment was very relaxing and reminded us of New Orleans so much. We only wish that we could give more than five stars! Will be returning soon!

Also the little mason jars for the drink glasses were so adorable!!!

My 3 sisters & I spent our Cmas lunch together there and our first time at Chicory’s ..we each ordered something different and we truly felt comfortable and welcomed to enjoy our festive time together..

The food was visually appealing and set up so neatly on the plate. It wasn't messy or dripping everywhere. It was absolutely delicious! 💯 %great. Good bless the cooks in the kitchen. Very polite young lady who waited on me. My only critique would be changing the interior and exterior of the place. Make it more up to date and inviting to all members of the community.

Ladies were great. Just a home cooked breakfast made by some dear ladies in the kitchen. Nice, quiet atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle just outside the door. Thank you so much ladies!

Food was good and served with a smile. The selection is like Southern home cooking! The coffee was probably my least favorite, because their cappuccino isn't "real". Just foam placed on the top.

Been eating here for 30 years and it's always had the best breakfast in Opelousas. In addition, I get to bump into old friends there, mostly local business leaders 👍🏼💯

Great food, atmosphere, and service!

Fantastic food! Absolutely love their Boudin, Egg and Cheese Biscuit they serve for breakfast; the BEST! So fresh and delicious! Get that with a cup of their delicious coffee and you will have a DELICIOUS breakfast to remember!! And the kind owners, especially the handsome young man, are always so friendly and appreciative of the business!!

Edit. Went back and service was terrible. I shouldn't have to go up to the counter for everything when every other table the waitress stops at it. The only time she was even nice was when she dropped the check.
Surprisingly good food... We didn't start out going there but glad we ended up there. The only thing missing was dessert. This place just looks like it should have pie for dessert.

An old gem

They are located in an old restaurant that I remember as a child and teenager. The original owners were friends oamy family. They have now picked up the torch and are carrying on. Superb now. I love the food and the new vibe. Been here quite a bit since they have open and I've never been disappointed. The food is superb.

Everything was excellent! ... the food was cooked to perfection with home cooked flavor, the waiter was informative and caring and took care of our needs and wants in a friendly, efficient manner! I will recommend Chicory's to my friends and family. I'm so proud to have you in Opelousas!

Older neat restaurant... excellent service and food, good price. Had the gumbo bowl... outstanding flavor. Definitely a small town feel like you are a neighbor... even when you are not.

This place has the best praline chicken you could imagine! Don’t sleep on it when you are in Opelousas! I would show a picture but I ate it too fast.
