Great rescue for dogs. Highly recommend adopting from them. Kim and her team are a pleasure to work with. She educated me on the importance of weight loss for my dogs. Thankfully they have lost weight and feel much better.

I recently adopted Lucy (Jeneen) from Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary and it was the best experience I have ever had when adopting a new dog. Kim was fantastic and worked closely with us to identify the best fit for our family, including who would get along well with our other dog. Their facility was nice and well-kept, they have large exercise yards, and the dogs are also walked outside on the trails. Would 100% recommend Horse Creek to anyone looking for a new dog.

This place is a heaven and a haven for dogs. So clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They love their jobs and they love every dog that comes there and find them a forever homes what a way to give back not only to the animals but to those people that are in need of companionship of a dog. Dogs are amazing fur friends and fur babies. We have adopted from Horsecreek and we can’t imagine our lives without them our fur babies they have brought us so much joy and laughter they are family to us. ❤

I love horse creek!! They really care about who gets the dogs and if they are going to good homes. I know several people that have been there and love it, and have not met one person that has said a negative thing about the place or the adoption process. They take great care of their property, facilities, employees, and most important their animals! Their staff is extremely knowledgeable about their jobs and the dogs they adopt out, if you are looking to adopt a dog, I recommend rescuing from Horse Creek!

My husband and I adopted a dog from Horse Creek back in Nov. 2012. This place is the Ritz Carlton of dog shelters! For example, the floors of each kennel are actually heated. The place is impeccably clean and it's obvious the dogs are very well taken care of. They have large areas to run and play outside and they all seemed to be very happy. The lady who worked with us on the adoption was absolutely wonderful. I certainly do not understand any bad ratings for Horse Creek. Maybe because Horse Creek screens their applicants very closely and some of these people who gave low ratings did not fit what is required. Their application is 4 pages long. They require a lot of information regarding the environment these dogs will be in. For example, they require that the people adopting have a fenced-in yard and it is also required that the dogs be in a situation where they are inside dogs, not left outside in a dog house. They ask questions about other pets in the family and they ask about your history of dog ownership. They even do home visits. They are very picky, but in my opinion, that is a good thing. Some shelters will adopt to anybody who can come up with the adoption fee, but not Horse Creek.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Horse Creek. All of the staff we interacted with were amazing from the start of the process to the finish. With everything going on with covid, we had to wait awhile to adopt our little man, but Kim did a fantastic job keeping us updated the whole time and made the process just so pleasant and smooth. Well worth the drive from out of town (we drove 5 hours), and the facility is very obviously well kept and maintained. We will definitely be coming back here!

We adopted our sweet girl with the help of Kim from the sanctuary. She was very helpful and encouraged us to bring along our other dog to make sure they were going to be compatible. We had a great experience and our sweet Hadley fits right into our family. Thanks for the care and love given to all of the animals there! Your staff is kind and giving.

I traveled here for a week long volunteer trip with other college students. They set us up in an amazing bunkhouse and treated us with such hospitality. The facilities and grounds are extremely clean, and you can tell how much the staff cares for all of the animals. They work very hard to leash train, crate train, and socialize all animals and they treat them all as their own pets. Truly a great place with even better staff.

I don’t usually post reviews, but I was absolutely shocked to see the low rating. Nothing could be further from the truth. The animal facility is by far the best I have ever seen. One thing that is immediately obvious is that the staff absolutely adores the animals and love their job. If you are looking to adopt, this place should be on your list.

They also do a variety of educational programs for schools, and the facilities are top notch, from the lodging houses, to the hiking trails and overlooks ... to the extremely professional and friendly staff. If you are affiliated with education in any way and want a great experience for you students, give them a call.

This place is a wonderful resource for West TN!!!

This place cares so much. They seem like one big happy family and treat visitors like family as well. I can’t wait to come back and visit. They take care of their dogs so that they’re incredibly well behaved and ready to go to a forever home. I can’t wait to adopt from Horsecreek! Clean, beautiful, friendly. I love this place.

This place is like a Hilton for dogs. The staff cares about each dog so much. They have heated floors, and the dogs get walked and get to play in the yard everyday. If the dog needs something, the staff does not hesitate to help. They go so far as to pay for expensive surgeries for the dogs. Each dog in the building can be loved and adopted, and it reflects the amount of hard work and care the staff puts into making sure each dog feels loved. The only thing they need is for people to adopt the sweet dogs and give them a forever home in a house environment.

After losing our sweet Brussels Griffon in May of 2022, there was a huge hole in my heart. I found Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary & discovered Oz. I can't believe how quickly we fell in love with. Kim and I spoke about him & since she was about to go on vacation & I really wanted to meet Oz, she spoke with Tim who agreed to our visit & adoption. Oz stole my heart in record time. I can't thank Horse Creek enough for rescuing him so that he could become my ESA dog, all 8# of him.

My experience here this past week has been absolutely life-changing. This operation is ran solely on the love of these animals and the passion to make a difference in their lives. The cleanliness of the facilities is immaculate. It is clear that the quality of life that these dogs experience is fairly equivalent to life at a loving home. These dogs have it made; the only thing missing in their lives is a family. If you are thinking about adopting a furever friend, this is the place to adopt from! The staff is friendly, professional, and most importantly passionate about what they do!
