We had the most delightful stay at this charming cabin! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine smile. The homemade breakfast was an absolute highlight - a delicious spread that fueled us up for a day of exploration.

The cabin itself was a haven of tranquility. Impeccably clean, quiet, and wonderfully appointed, it provided the perfect respite after a day of adventures. The warm water in the shower was an added bonus, a small luxury that made a big difference.

The location couldn't have been better. We were mere minutes away from the state park, allowing us to make the most of our time in the great outdoors. Additionally, the proximity to the boat leisure activities was a real treat. We enjoyed lazy afternoons on the water, soaking in the scenic beauty.

Our hosts friend (Elizabeth) were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area, providing us with excellent recommendations for dining and sightseeing. Their passion for their surroundings was infectious, and we left with a deeper appreciation for the region.

We cannot recommend this cabin highly enough. Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat or an adventure-filled getaway, this place has it all. We're already planning our next visit!

Comfortable cabin in *beautiful* setting! The bed was great and it's a clean place with air conditioning -- a glamper's paradise!
The cabins are set in a deep lot with sounds of birds and frogs, Spanish Moss in the trees and a little water way in view. No lake view, but you can go to other parts of the lake from that. We cooked hot dogs on the grill at night. There's not a kitchenette, but there is a dorm fridge and that's all we needed for sandwich fixings.. Shannon our really nice hostess cooked a great breakfast in the morning.
This isn't a totally isolated place. There's residents near by like a rural, spread out suburb. So it's fine to a city person like me.
You won't be "uncertain" about how lovely your stay was!

Would highly recommend. The cabin was clean, adorable and just enough space and what we needed. Miss Shannon made sure we had a delicious breakfast every morning. We were able to put in our kayaks right from the property and explore Caddo Lake. Very peaceful getaway.

We had such a wonderful time! We had a girl's getaway weekend (grandma,mom,2 daughters). The Fonteneaux Quarter was adorable and cozy & clean! We will come back! Plus, our breakfast at the Lodge on Saturday morning was delicious and our cook was sweet and helpful with events around town!❤Thank you for an awesome trip!

Great place, right on Caddo. My family of 6 stayed there, it was a snug fit but we're happy we could do it. There was a king bed in the back bedroom, and a pullout queen couch in the front living room. The room had a mini fridge as well. There are picnic tables outside, bbq's, a fire pit, a paddle boat/kayak launch, and in a nice and quiet neighborhood.

The place is easy to find and very homey. We stayed at Thibbodeu and it is spacious. We were also greeted with a card because we are celebrating our anniversary. The next morning, Shannon cooked a hot breakfast beef buritto for us. It was so good and filling. We would love to comeback and stay longer.

We stayed here with our 3 kids and absolutely loved it. The little guest quarters are so nice! Owners are very accommodating. The young lady who cooks and serves breakfast is the best. Close to lots of things to do. Can't wait to come back!

Very clean , comfortable and approachable ..
there are 4 guest quarters so if multiple families planning together it makes a good place to have together and keeping some privacy when needed.
It is surrounded by woods so very close to nature and yet not so aloof to be scared ..
there is small hut next to guest quarters with a kitchen it serves the hot breakfast in the morning , thanks to dear Shannon she made some amazing cinnamon rolls for us.
She even baked biscuits for us, let us warm milk and our home food when she came to know we are vegetarians 😍😍
There is a fire-pit with wood to grill and enjoy campfires .
The only thing i can request owner is to put doors to the bathroom .. plz
There are room separator doors but one additional is must to have

The Hebert cabin at Lafitte's Landing was comfortable and impeccably clean! It was fashioned for a New Orleans feel and all of the details were wonderful. I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but when we went to take a shower there was no hot water. That being said, when no hot water for a shower only brings a rating down to a 4, I'd say that it is something special. This would be a wonderful location or a small family reunion or a get away for several couples because of the separate cabins and the community lodge. There is a dock right across the field that was perfect for launching our kayaks, but you wouldn't be able to launch a boat from the grounds. That being said there is a dock less than 5 minutes away. We had a great time and would definitely come back!

This is a terrible choice for this hotel. It was suspicious since the reservation was made. The phone never went through. Through email exchange, we were reassured that the they just didn’t exchange previous owner’s number so it was disconnected. That’s indicative of lousy service but we ignored the sign. The website said one queen, one king for cabin, so we booked one cabin for 4 people. Once we arrive, it was just one bedroom with a simple couch! The phone didn’t go through, spotty internet service. It was extremely difficult to get connected with the staff. And we were blamed for “ squeezing 4 people in a small room”. Well, if the website indicated sofabed, we would never book it! The staff was not helpful at all, that we need to book another cabin through website. Terrible service! Please don’t book this one to ruin your trip. There are a lot more choices around the lake. It also didn’t have the full access to lake as it lies on the website.

Here's my email exchange with the owner of Lafitte's Landing and Hoot 'n Holler. Readers can decide if this is someone from whom they'd like to rent a vacation home.
_________
Hello,
I'd like to reserve the Broussard cottage at Lafitte's Landing on Caddo Lake -- checking in Saturday, March 12th, and checking out Tuesday, March 15th.
It will be me and my husband and our two daughters.
Please respond at your earliest convenience, as I would like to get the arrangements finalized as soon as possible. We are excited to start planning our trip!
Thank you!
__________
how old are your children?
_________________
They will be six and nearly three. Is that a problem?
_______________
Lafitte's is a facility for couples. It really isn't suitable for children, but thank you for thinking of us.
_____________
It's interesting you say that, since that policy isn't listed anywhere on your website. I also read a review or two indicating you have rented to families - even family reunion groups - with children in the past. I suspect you'll allow children to stay when you need the booking. But March being so far out - and it being spring break - you must be confident you'll get another reservation, so you don't need us. What a sneaky way to do business.
It's unfortunate you paint all children with such a wide brush, especially given the way many adults conduct themselves. My children would not have been disruptive or destructive on your property; they aren't that way, and we have taught them respect for others. They are two girls with a deep love of nature. This was to be our first family spring break trip - the beginning of a tradition, since my oldest is now in school.
I believe I should've paid more attention to the review I read that described how nasty you were to the sisters who stayed there for a family gathering a little while back. I'll be writing a review myself. Thank you.
______________
There are many facilities here that are family oriented, including my guest house just up the street - Hoot 'N Holler, which you did not inquire about. I believe that children should be where they are comfortable, with games to play, age appropriate movies to watch, a house and back yard that is safe and far enough from the water that parents can relax without worrying about their children's safety. I spent many years working in medicine with children, their safety and comfort being a primary priority, right along with their health. I'm sorry that you find my concern offensive. My concern has nothing to do with children being disruptive or destructive but rather their safety and enjoyment.
___________
You're right, I didn't ask -- nor did you mention it. Your response to my original email was an abrupt and off-putting: "how old are your children?" You did not thank me for my reservation inquiry or explain why you wanted details about my kids. In declining my booking request, you also gave no real explanation and no apology for the misunderstanding. If you had been friendlier, it would have been disappointing, but not offensive.
I don't believe your concern is for my children's safety and enjoyment, because, as I said, your website doesn't include a "No Children" policy and you have clearly rented to families with kids in the past. Nor does your website highlight any particular safety hazards on the property.
It's your property and your prerogative who you let in it. But you should consider how the way you go about that reflects on your business. For example, there is a B&B in Jefferson that doesn't allow children -- and they say so right on their website. Fine. But selectively declining reservations to families with children during peak times -- without being up front about the fact that you do that -- is sneaky and aggressively self-serving. These are not qualities that paying customers seeking a relaxing vacation will find appealing in a hostess.
p.s. I'm also not sure how the Broussard is intended for "couples" given it has twin beds in the bedroom and a pullout in the parlor.
