Okay I've been at this motel since December 4 and from then till now I have to say it has very much improved. It is clean and smells clean beds are comfortable and if there is a problem with the room they get you into another room right then and there. The staff is great I would recommend to any body to come check out for your selves there are vacancies and prices are great 57.50 is a great price for single and 63.25 for double 2311 Lamar St.

I was by myself and had to blow out on the trailer I was pulling and didn’t have a spare. Owner was awesome Christian man who made me feel safe and looked after me till my son arrived. This is the halfway point between my sons house and ours and if I am too tired to make the drive home I will definitely stay there again. This is an older place but they are working on fixing it up. Place was clean and comfortable. All the workers were so nice and the housekeeper even offered a tire if it would help. Owner had me pull my truck around so he could watch it on his security camera. For a little over $200 I was able to stay for 4 nights when my car broke down here. First place I tried charged $90 a night and didn't even have a place for my frozen ice chest goods. This place had a full size fridge/freezer, microwave, two beds, hot water, cable AND internet.

The Indian man who checked me in was nothing but friendly and gave me a discount for staying 4 nights instead of 3. And the Mexican maintenance guy/electrician was extremely friendly as well. Gave me recommendations on good places to eat, made sure I had all I needed in the room, and even offered to help with my car. The house keeper came by at least once a day to ensure I had clean towels and offered to take care of any trash.

The place itself is still being polished up from being a nursing home back in the day. But the room I received was clean from bedding to floors and the staff gave me the impression that they cared about the place. Save money and get more for what you pay so long as you don't mind that the interior design isn't up to par with the Hilton.

First let me say that this place isn't up to date. However the price was extremely affordable, the bed was comfy, shower was hot and most importantly the Mexican Man who checked us in was really accommodating and made sure our room was clean and we had fresh towels. The negative is the wasn't any coffee made and it wasn't up to date. But for a mom and pops Establishment. They are trying. We will be back

Don’t listen to anyone that gives this hotel a bad review. It doesn’t deserve it.

Here’s a list of why:

1. The beds are comfortable.

2. The rooms are cleaned often and the staff is very customer friendly.

3. It has a full size fridge.

4. The internet download speed is 50mbs and it’s freakin free. That’s truly outstanding for a hotel. Also, if the internet is running slow and you call the front desk, he will reset the internet on the spot without hesitation.

5. It has full size closets.

6. They have a laundry service.

All in all the owner and staff are doing their best. So if you’re spoiled, do us all a favor and don’t come here and give this place an inaccurate review because it’s not exactly what you want. But if you’re looking for something more than the essentials, then why would you even come here? Get over yourself and don’t.

I found refuge. After being disappointed by a nearby hotel, i went to this hotel because I don’t want to spend almost a 100 bucks for just one night stay. I just paid $50 for this hotel and it passed my standards: it’s clean, no bed bugs, no roaches, no unpleasant odor, not carpeted, bed sheets are clean and the staff is very kind.. I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

PS. everything here’s already fixed, as the previews negative comments, it’s all good now.

I stayed here on my way to Austin from California and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took over the business about 4 months ago and they’re working hard on bringing the place up! It’s affordable and comfortable place to sleep on the road. Good deal 👌🏼.

The hotel room is very spacious with a big fridge and a large closet.

I love the staff and service the rates are very fair and the front desk man is very caring and tends to all your needs for your stay the rooms are clean it has minor problems but nothing to really worry about nothing or nobody is perfect but overall I would recommend 15/10 for anybody to stay here at this motel there are bad reviews but people will find anything to complain about I urge anybody to stay here if need be over any other motel in town you’ll love it just as I do

My stay was for work. The room was very spacious and clean. Lots of closet room. Big comfortable bed, with full size refrigerator. Sink area included a microwave and big mirror. Restroom/ shower are ok. WiFi is great and tv has local a cable channel’s. If you are passing through and are on a budget this is your place or are in the Wind/Oil industry working in the area this a a must stay. Staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. Hands down a great place to stay.

Im still here .its a new place .The people r nice there trying to get it where it needs to b .The manager and his staff go above and beyond to make u comfortable .to eaxh is own .Dont knock it till u try it . weve been coming here for 2 yrs.

Retro Inn. Use to be Holiday Inn that is now being redone by a motivated new owner. We had a great stay.
