Beautiful falls on the Locust Fork River.
Easy hike just off the road. Well worth the visit and exploring the limestone and sandstone formations.

Beautiful spot. Easy access from the small parking area. Trail down could be hard for kids or elderly people. Area is rocky with lots of roots so not the easier place to walk. You can go behind the waterfall if careful. My seven year old and I both did. We had so much fun. Rope swing is a nice touch. I highly recommend water shoes. Lots of broken glass in areas. Mardis Mill Falls will be a fun annual trip for us.

Absolutely beautiful. Wish I could've gone a little sooner so I could've gone swimming. Water was ice cold. Other than the couple before us having a little dog that pooped on the trail and they left it, and let the dog pee all over my trucks rims it is a pretty clean pretty nice place. Did see a snake shed stuck to a rock right by the water. Over all this place is so peaceful and beautiful. Will definitely be back again.

We were heading home from a state park and stumbled across this location. Since we had plenty of daylight, we stopped to check it out and was very glad we did. We met a family that was local to the area who were swinging on a rope swing into the water with their kids. Very rocky area and the closer you get to the water the more slippery the rocks got but we took off our shoes and went exploring and had a lot of fun. We found a second rope swing but decided that would require a bathing suit and we were not prepared for that so called it a day. Great place to explore but watch out there were a few places with glass so be careful when barefoot.

Such an incredibly beautiful place to visit! Easy peasy hike down from the parking lot to the falls. Very limited parking. The area below was pretty clean, there was some fire pit remains left behind from previous visitors however. And it wasn’t busy at all. Maybe one other pair of people hiking around.
But I really loved seeing the oak leaf hydrangeas in bloom.

Overall just an oasis. Can’t wait to come back!

PARKING
Ample parking near falls entrance. Some parking would be better to have a truck.

HIKING
It's a short (maybe 100yrds) and straight trail down to the creek and falls. At the end of the trail, you do have to step down some rocks to get to the bottom. It is a pretty rocky and rough area surrounding the creekbed, so you will need to walk carefully.

FALLS
I would definitely recommend bringing some kind of water shoes as creekbed is very rocky. There is a tree swing that both adults and kids alike were using. I would be cautious with my children, there is large rocks to swing over. The pool below the falls is large enough to swim around and play in. It varies in depth from calf deep to 5+ ft deep in the center. Several people had brought tubes to float around in the pool area. The creek runs shallow down a gradual grade about 50yrds downstream to what looked to be a much deeper part of the creek. We went on a holiday and there were probably around 50 people.

A "hole" lot of fun! We are new to Alabama and are granddaughters came to visit this summer. Google the fishing hole nearby and Mardis falls popped up. Our teenage grandkids (and me) had so much fun they begged to stay longer and to go again. It's beautiful and panoramic.

There is a rope to swing into the water. The waterfalls are beautiful. Depending on whether or not there has been rain will determine how deep the water is. I also recommend children be 5 years and older due to the rocks and access to the swimming hole. The trail to walk down to the swimming hole is a rocky trail and there is no beach front.

No actual parking lot. But there are a limited number of places to pull over off the road (roughly 10 cars).

Was not expecting such a pretty neat place. Looks like a great little swimming hole in the summer time. Small parking area for about 10 cars. Not a far walk to the falls from parking area. Trail follows stream but we didn't get to walk it today. Definitely need to come back and explore.

Beautiful place. Waterfall is incredible. Lots of hiking trails/ multi places to get in Water swim. Have swing ropes throughout.
Only thing would do different is bring some bug spray and a couple fold up chairs to sit by river.

Unique, simple, small, and superb water fall in country side, fairly unknown. Also, covered by canopy, so not direct sunlight. Amazing place for kids. However do not take risk direct under fall that is much deep and dangerous.

Little Hidden Gem! Super low-key at times, and very laid back. It's small but it has a little bit of everything you'd want at a place like this. Only an hour from Decatur and 45 minutes from Hartselle it's highly recommended.

Very quiet and serene. I think autumn is a good time because no ones swimming because it's too cold. It's a great place to walk and explore with a beautiful waterfall and small cascades.

I live here!!! People turn in my driveway all the time for about 5 years. I guess I'm going to have to put up signs and property boundaries.
