Macon County Rest Area - NB

The Macon County Rest Area is nice and clean. The grounds are well kept and well laid out. The restrooms are clean and in great working order. The attendants are also exceptionally friendly, making the stop far more enjoyable. Picnic tables, both covered and open are plentiful as is the parking. There is ample large trunk parking and nice vending machines. This is a very worthwhile stop off of I-85 Interstate.

I stop here several times a year on my drive from Fl to GA. This rest stop is always so well taken care of. The restrooms are clean, disinfected. The facilitates are well maintained and the staff is friendly and patient with visitors.
This is a good spot for a quick break, picnic areas, take a walk, and refresh for a long drive.

Do you want to feel safe, have clean bathrooms, rest, ample parking? You've found it here! Our whole trip has been visitor/rest areas, casinos, cabelas, etc... this by far is the best! Highly recommend! Very quiet and seperate parking from trucks!

Nice place. Had to dump RV the place was fairly packed. But again it was nighttime.
NO offense to truckers. It was a little tough maneuvering because instead of using parking area one guy was parked on the side fairly close to the dump area. Took some trying but I got in. Security offered to ask him to move, it really wasn't necessary why bother someone's rest.
All in all a nice place. I'm not sure if freshwater was available. Wish they posted it. The handle at dump was the correct color just double check.

A good spot for a rest stop. Grounds are nice. Facility was clean. Plenty of maps and local guide brochures available. Hadn't seen tile like that bathroom in a long time but it was clean.

Had to stop for a rest on our long journey. The bathroom was very clean.

Spacious, well lit and clean. Restrooms kept clean and well lit. Some vending machines available as well. Spent a few hours here to stretch and relax.

So the last few weeks I've been all through Virginia North Carolina Georgia and Florida and I have to say if this is an indication of Alabama's rest stops looks like they're going to be better than all of the others I've had several issues in Florida where they don't allow you to sleep there no overnight stays no longer you know no more than 2 hour parking and stuff like that it's the rest stop it's middle of the night I don't want to have to set an alarm to wake up to drive down the road to find another rest stop to park and go back to sleep Florida was the worst for that Georgia had a couple that out of nowhere after staying in several of them at Several of them it's no overnight sleep but that was also right before Florida so I don't know if it has something to do with that anyway this location is very well maintained honestly it looks like a park or Golf Course or something it's a nice little rest stop building could use a couple extra stalls but I really don't have any complaints I mean everything is good plenty of place to to park you can spread out from each other you don't have to be close to people short still worried about covid or something and actual hand sanitizer stations just outside the door so if you are still worried about covid you can actually sanitize your hands

This was a nice stop on the way home. I really like the atmosphere and the nice ambiance and the artifacts of Auburn was nice.

Another road trip! Lovely weather and great rest area for getting baseball cards from the vending machine!

Clean bathrooms, good selections in vending. And the best part is the friendly travelers we came across- good nice humans the world needs more of. Met a couple who was also traveling with RV, unfortunately they have had some bad luck in their recent travels with weather and truck broken in - hopefully their luck improved.
They have a dump station(only, no water for rinsing) which may come in handy for some.

Nice place to stretch your legs when you are tired from the road. I only live a few miles past this rest area. But it is so beautiful there we stop every month on our way back from Birmingham.

PLENTY OF PARKING for big trucks. 3 venues for food. Mexican; BBQ & Hamburgers etc. Clean restooms and showers. Hotel located next door if you prefer to do 34 hr restarts in comfort. Never crowded or too busy.
