We stayed at a full hookup site for a week in August. We loved this park! It's fairly small but has everything. Two nice bathhouses, a playground and hiking trails. There is no train, the tracks behind aren't in use. There is road noise, but it was never bothersome. Across the highway, there's a park with small boat launches and benches. You could probably swim there if you wanted, but there's a nice beach in L'Anse.

We had a great campsite at this state park - #12. Not only did we have full hook-ups (30 amp power), the site was paved - including the picnic area and firepit area. And the big bonus was that we faced an open field with no camping in it! Also - it was on a turn - so backing in was a breeze. Yes, the campground is just off the highway so there is some highway noise and the lake front is across the street, but still our site was lovely. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

Nice sizes sites! Cute trail to hike that passes through a big as well. Our site had a nice open spot for the kids to play on across the drive. Vault bathrooms available but two large, very well kept main bathrooms with showers too. Rangers were helpful and kind. Ice and wood available at the office as well. Camp host have lots to offer in the way of games and such too! So glad we made this our main stay this year!

First time here. Awesome park and employees. They are looking for more help, so if you are looking for a job....
Excellent restroom and shower facilities.
Pictures taken from site #4.
Other posters commented on traffic noise. From our site we weren't bothered by it. We love it here!

The most colorful State Parks in the fall. Across the street from the Kewanaw Bay. The only downfall is the traffic because the park is close to the road. Yet it is very quiet at night time.

We really liked this park. It’s right on the edge of the town of Baraga, so it was an easy walk into town. We had beers at Cue Masters, then went to Drive In for burgers, fries & ice cream.
The park is right off Highway 41, so there is quite a bit of road noise, but after dark traffic was almost nothing. We only spoke to one staff member and she was nice and professional. The bathrooms were clean and for once didn’t have a bunch of kids hanging out in them. The showers were awesome. They are individual outside entry shower stalls. They each have a bench, several hooks and plenty of room to move around while getting dressed. The water was hot and had great pressure. I would go so far as to say these may have been the best showers of all the hundreds of parks we’ve visited.
We had pretty good phone service, but absolutely no antenna TV channels. The park does have free WiFi, but we could only access it in the center of the park near the check in station.
The bay is directly across Highway 41 from the park and the views are tremendous. Would definitely recommend this park if you are in The UP.

Fantastic state park! Has running water and electricity at the sites, hot showers, modern toilets, friendly staff, everything you need to camp. We stayed in the teepee with three kids and three adults and it was amazing. Great adventure with a different twist. Best part is I didn't have to set up tents, canopies, or even beds. The only drawback was how close the highway is to the campground, but a basic set of earplugs resolves that completely! We absolutely loved it and will return again as soon as possible.

Such a great state park for camping! Even without water hookups (we had an electric only site), it was an amazing stay in our RV. Easy roads in and out, clean and modern bathhouses that are well-maintained, lovely atmosphere for camping for a few days - or more. Right across the street from Lake Superior - can’t beat the views!

Nice campground, showers and bathrooms are clean and stocked. Check in was a breeze, came in late. Grab the yellow phone and in minutes you are checked in. Plenty to see in the area for the adventurous type.

Great state park. Nice grounds, great staff. The road noise is a bit much but you get used to it I guess.

Wonderful morning breeze off the big Lake. Shower house in very clean condition. Could use some stall door lock repairs but the cleanliness and lack of people make it completely bearable. :) Yes there's some traffic sounds but the loons on the water make up for it. Thank you Baraga State Park for having decent toilet paper.

1st Michigan campground I've been to (from Ohio). Clean! Bathrooms are the nicest I've ever been to. Showers were great, too. Campers respected quiet times. Staff seemed to always be on the clock. I had my big dog and he did great as well.

Great spaces with nice views. Spiffy facilities and perhaps the nicest, friendliest staff of any campground we've ever stayed in. Never hesitate about a night at Baraga SP
