Baraga Drive-In

Amazing food and service! I happened to come on a Tuesday night and they were having a car show I didn't even know about! They have it every Tuesday during the summer so stop in if you're into cars! My only "complaint" (in quotes because it's not really a complaint) is that they no longer serve with the window trays like they did years ago. It's just in a bag now. The food is still just as delicious though!

A fun experience and the food was good. We had cheeseburgers and while the burger patties were thin, overall it was an above average tasting burger. I would guess that it’s the best burger in the small town of Baraga. Fiancé also had root beer and a flurrie and I had a hot fudge sundae that i couldn’t finish and the bill was $25. We ate in our car but there is a lovely patio with picnic tables and hanging baskets of geraniums to create a pleasant atmosphere. Service was great too. We wanted to buy tshirts the waitresses were wearing but she said they were having trouble even getting enough for the staff. If they could get them in different colors, I think they would sell to tourists. We were camping at the Baraga state park next-door. The only suggestion for improvement would be to play some oldies music instead of the heavy metal that was playing.

Young Deborah was so kind and fun to talk with. She recommended the jalapeno burger and it was delicious as were the chili cheese fries(reg) not curly. But the fries were enough for 2 people so beware lol. Great place to stop! Great food & great service.

We had been driving about 9 hours, heading home, hadn't seen open food for a couple 100 miles. Turned a corner and headed for lights in L'ans and BAM...there's a Diner out my window bur my husband didn't see it. He NEVER turns around for anything...but I begged. And thank goodness I did. This place is SPECIAL. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, QUAINT, GREAT SERVICE, PERFECT FRIES, PERFECT BURGER with a nice buttery crisp edge on the Brioche bun. Chocolate Custard was good but needs more Chocolate flavor (my husband thought it was salted caramel when he tasted it...kinda did). His Strawberry Malt was also very good but we both struggled to taste the malt flavor. However, the full on fresh strawberry flavor was perfect. I grew up in the 70's working in my parents Drive In....this place checks ALL the right boxes. RUN...don't walk. And try it out.

Great burgers & shakes. They make pizza during deer season. Wife says they have the best mushroom & mozzarella burger.

A carhop was at our vehicle quickly with a menu. Our order was simple so did did not take long to bring it us.

The custard is very creamy. They have plenty of ice cream flavors as well. The fries and cheese sauce were hot.

It is a fun spot to stop for a bite driving through Baraga!

Had the steak sandwich and the fish sandwich. Both were real good. Had the homemade root beer and that was fabulous. The chef Destin even took the time to come ask us if we would like jalapeños on the steak sandwich. It is special touches like that, that make a good meal. Will be back next trip to the UP!

Tasty and quick. Loved the corn fritters. I could eat several orders of them. The root beer was so good I almost ordered more to go. We are from out of state so... I didn't.

Best spot to stop in Baraga! The loaded french fries and malts are our fave!

It was a really fun carhop experience with fantastic American fare. Root beer is excellent! Coney dog and BLT were our choices with a basket of fries. Everything was very tasty!

Great tasting drive in burgers & onion rings for my wife and I. Sat in the picnic area which was clean with hanging plants. Service was friendly and prompt. We will try some ice cream next time. Nice view of Keweenaw Bay.

This is a old fashioned drive inn restaurant not the most healthy but excellent greasey and delicious food. I would recommend it easily but not every day. Hope you guys give it a shot. By the way the root beer 🍻 is great.

Solid drive in food. They add cherry to your Coke and getting cheese on your burger is a must. The root beer is seriously good.

When we’re in Baraga, the Drive-In is a must visit location! Excellent food and ice cream, and the service is exceptional; everything you expect from a classic style drive in. Be sure to stop on Tuesdays in the summer for the weekly car show!

We were searching for a place to have dinner while we drove through the Keweenaw peninsula and found the Baraga Drive-In. My kids had never been to a drive in style restaurant and got a kick out of it. Our food was great and the (homemade) root beer float is a must order! My kids say they have the best strawberry cheesecake flurry they’ve ever tried. Great spot!

Great local bar! We had Pick Ax blonde beers and a lot of fun watching the bar TV. There are a couple of slot machines in the bar as well as 2 pool tables. We only stopped for a beer, so we did not play. They also have snacks and bar food and a great bartender. We walked from the Baraga State Park in about 10-15 minutes. Nice place to stop and relax. 😁

We stopped here on our motorcycle trip around lake Superior was close to our hotel. We had burgers and side of their pretzel fries with cheese and a half gallon of their root beer.

Super cute place & delicious! I got the jalapeño burger, it was very different from anything I’ve had before but it was pleasant! Also tried the famous root beer float & it’s definitely one of the best I’ve ever had!

Staff went above and beyond to help us even when they were low on inventory so late in the day. They had great recommendations and even gave us food recommendations for the rest of our stay in town! Highly recommended!!!
