What a joy to arrive at the cabin knowing our new wood stove from North Winds Stove & Fireplace was ready and waiting! From start ( the purchasing decision) to finish (the chimney and stove install) they were terrific: knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, and fast. We couldn't be happier. Thank you all!

My propane fireplace would not relight and I was sure I would need a costly repair visit. After talking with North Winds for a few minutes, they kindly told me how to easily fix it myself. I was easily able to relight, following their free phone advice, and am now prepared for any power outages! Thank you, North Winds!!!!

If you want a stove that heats buy one off Paul if you want a stove that doesn’t then buy one off from Home Depot…………….but remember good ain’t cheap and cheap ain’t good!

Great wood stove purchase experience at North Winds. We bought 2 wood stoves and we were also looking for a modern gas insert. Extremely knowledgeable staff that clearly have been in the biz for many years. Answered all my questions (I came in with many!) and helped me get everything dialed in right. We love our Pacific Energy stoves and I highly recommend this shop!

We had a wonderful experience with North Winds Stove & Fireplace. Buying a wood stove is a big investment and we wanted to make sure we did it right. Our house wasn't built with a wood stove in mind, so I had a lot of questions about the best place to locate the stove and the right size and design for the space. Jordan was super professional and friendly and walked us through all of our options at the store to help us pick the right stove. During the site visit, Paul showed us the possible options for placing the stove and offered invaluable insight about what he would do if it were his house. The crew that installed the stove clearly knew what they were doing and have been in the profession for years. The result is even better than we imagined. The stove is efficient, perfectly placed, and transforms our house. We love it. I fully trust North Winds Stove & Fireplace and recommend them to everyone.

I asked around who to buy a wood stove from, everyone who used Northwinds excitedly told me how great they were and that I should definitely use them. Paul (the owner) is extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Once I decided on a stove, Paul came to my house and we discussed the pros and cons of where to place our stove and he did the layout of the chimney.

On installation day his sons came and installed the chimney. They were excellent. They put drop cloths EVERYWHERE and once the chimney was installed they left the place cleaner than they found it. They were extremely helpful and answered all my questions; and I had LOTS.

When I later ordered a fan for my stove they were in the area and came by and installed it for me. I was expecting to pick it up at the shop and install it myself. Just an added bonus.

Paul and his sons obviously take great pride in their work and it shows. The installation job of the wood stove I purchased was of the absolute highest quality, right down to the smallest detail. What a fantastic family business. My wife and I are from Pennsylvania and recently purchased a cabin in Eastbrook Maine. The cabin is very rustic and needed a new stove to provide heat. North Winds was recommended to us and we could not be more satisfied. With us not being from the area the Owner Paul helped us to coordinate the other aspects of the install that would be required. Ian, Dustin, and Ralph completed the install in a very professional and personal manner making sure that we were thrilled with the final product. In fact, during the install one of the men took ill. The Owner sent his son Dustin over to complete the project knowing that we drove nine hours to be present for the install. What we learned is that Dustin postponed his vacation to Florida by one day to make sure our install was complete.This type of dedication to customer service is rare and could not be more appreciated by my wife and me. We give our unconditional recommendation for this fine company.

North Wind stove is awesome! We have a gas fireplace that they installed when we built our house. We love the fireplace and use it often. During the last windstorm the cap on the pipe that comes out of the roof blew off and broke into several pieces. We called and in less than 2 hours they were there replacing the cap!! Thanks North Wind you guys are awesome!!

I called about service and they were swamped and couldn’t get me in for a while but they spent 10 minutes on the phone with me troubleshooting. Great people!

Northwinds has installed two gas fireplaces for us over the years and has helped with several other service problems on other units. Most recent install is a gas fireplace in a rental. They were able to come on a Saturday (our changeover day) and the experience was terrific. The installers took great care to minimize the inevitable dust and soil from the removal of the old unit and were meticulous in the placement and setup of the new fireplace. They are friendly, professional, and well equipped to do a fine job.

Great place, bought a wood stove Saturday and they called me the following Friday to say it was in. Can't wait to pick it up.
So we picked up our new Pacific Energy wood stove the begining of September. We absolutely love it 😍. It is very wood efficient, hold a flame for the day.. was ready to hook up.. love love love it

From walking thru the front door looking for a pellet stove to the crew pulling out of the driveway, North Winds Stove and Fireplace provided us with an amazing experience. The professionalism that was shown by the salesman to the installers is a credit to the company. The salesman knew his stoves and took the time to explain each one we looked at and why he thought which stove would fit our needs. The installation was done immaculately with the installer walking backwards out of the house rolling the drop cloth as he went. I will conclude by saying that I have not seen this kind of work ethic in a long time.

Paul was so much help explaining exactly what we needed without getting too large a wood stove. The install team was very professional and friendly.
They put down drop cloths to protect the floors. They explained everything about the stoves after they installed them. I would definitely recommend North Winds to anyone looking for a wood stove.

As a single, self-employed daycare provider and homeowner, heating systems are not in my wheelhouse, however, the Carey's have always treated me like family with care, support and good humor. Since I work at home and the pellet stove would be in my kitchen, it needed to be functional AND attractive. Win-win on both!! The Carey's know what they are doing, they are honest, trustworthy and professional. I highly recommend them to take care of all your wood burning needs. They have been taking care of my stove for the last ELEVEN years and it's still running like a champ. Wonderful family, wonderful business.

Paul and his family run a class act. Honest, caring and helpful, they helped me choose a pellet stove (not the most expensive) that would meet my needs. Installation was on time and professionally done. Follow up has been wonderful. The stove has been running for 2 years now with no issues. I wholeheartedly recommend them if you are considering any type of stove.

Paul and his guys have just installed a beautiful wood burning stove in our home. The home previously had a gas stove and we knew nothing about how to make the change. The knowledge and experience of this family made the process and decision making easy for us. The installers were a pleasure to have in the house, they were friendly and very careful while working in our home with an excellent clean up after the work was done. Simply the best! Great customer service. Paul and his sons worked diligently with us to find the right stove for our situation. We couldn't be more pleased! Walked us through the entire process from purchase through installation. This was not a straightforward process given our funky circa 1840s chimney. In finding a solution, safety was always a top priority for us and them! We most enthusiastically recommend North Winds!!!

5+ stars for this knowledgeable, highly reputable family business. Paul and sons Jordan, Dustin and crew went above and beyond to resolve a service issue on our stove which was left unresolved by the company from which we originally purchased the stove. They were all responsive, attentive, kind, caring, professional, highly knowledgeable and more than willing to work with us even though we did not purchase the stove from them nor did they typically service this stove brand. Paul's widespread and longstanding connections in the business allowed him to immediately contact the stove service rep in Vermont to more quickly remediate the issue. They worked at it until successful and educated us in the process. They offered remedies to help us keep the cost down as well and did not overcharge for the work they did. I never write reviews but felt compelled to do so here -- as Dustin said, "it's as important, if not more so to choose a stove company based on their service record than on the stove itself." We would strongly recommend this company for both.

Paul and his staff (mostly family members) were very helpful and patient as we narrowed down our choices for a wood burning stove to help heat our new cottage on the coast. They are very knowledgeable and we ended up purchasing a wonderful stove that we have used for the past month (off and on as the temperature dictates). After we gave them the measurements, they sold us the exact set of pipes for our spot. No cutting, no fitting, just slipped right into place and works like a champ. We visited a couple of other places that sell stoves, but these guys are head and shoulders above the competition.
