Super quick and easy transfer of me and my husband's licenses from MA to NH! Didn't have an appointment but still didn't wait long at all! Kevin was very helpful and calming! Over the moon to be NH residents finally!!! :)

The DMV is, apparently, no longer the horrible place stereotyped in so many movies and comedy skits. These folks were kind, efficient, quick, and nice. Yes, there are still forms and lines but really, only the necessary. Excellent service!

The Newport DMV has pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional staff. I have found it to be less busy than Concord, so although I may wait a bit, I don't spend the day there!

This wasn't my first time visiting the DMV in Newport, and anytime I have the opportunity, I will return there for any DMV needs. The people there are super kind, their supervisor takes pride in her staff and really works hard to make the DMV experience a good one for everyone. The best way to go about any transaction there is to make an appointment online, and using the website, you can learn in advance exactly what you need to bring. You can even find out what take forms you need to fill out, and if you don't have access to a printer, you can email items to them in advance. The people there are so helpful, friendly, and professional. They really understand that you don't want to spend any more time there than you need, so they make it as easy as possible. At today's visit, I got out of my car at 12:30 p.m., completed everything for a Real ID driver's license, and was back in my car at 12:49 p.m. Very impressive! I'm really grateful to them for making this a pleasant experience.

The Newport NH DMV has some of the most courteous, helpful folks on staff. Delivering great customer service with a good attitude. This is how state offices should be run.

Newport NH DMV No lines, no waiting! Renewal for license. Concord DMV is a mess! U wait sometimes for hrs! I will definitely go back in the future! Staff was helpful and kind unlike Concord DMV seems they are always rude and unhelpful. Although DMV period is all a scam for money, we have a right to Travel and plenty of supreme court rulings to prove it. Driving is a privilege it's commercial. Know your terms, driver VS traveler. I drive commercial so I do need one, I don't need one to travel to the store for groceries.

I had a quick and easy experience here. They were nice and very helpful...NOT cranky, angry, lazy, and hopelessly miserable like most other DMVs I've been too (in New Joizeee) That's a good sign, glad I moved here.

While it was a long drive to the office. There was virtually no line and absolutely no delay or waiting. How refreshing! I was taken care of by a very pleasant, good humored attendant who was very attentive to both my needs and the appropriate documentation. I can't say enough good things about my experience.

I had a positive experience when I went to this branch this morning to change my address and get a new licence. The ladies working there were courteous and professional, the facility was clean, and the thermostat was set at a very comfortable 72º. I was in and out in about forty-five minutes. I wouldn't hesitate to use this branch again.

Had an amazing experience at the Newport DMV this week. Every person working there was smiling, kind, supportive, helpful and encouraging to my first time driver and the other customers. They really seemed joyful in their work and went above and beyond to make it a good experience. Can’t thank them enough!

We made the appointments online and that worked out well no waiting. The gal who waited on us was very efficient and pleasant so it was a good experience overall.

Super friendly and competent people attended us, shortly after our move to New Hampshire and just as the "Real-Id" driver's licenses have started to register. They carefully reviewed all the documents we had brought and selected the ones that were relevant. There was no wait, but if you do have to wait, there are chairs.

DMVs are always hit or miss. But this DMV is a good one. The person who helped me today was kind, professional, made the whole process of transferring my out of state license streamlined and easy.

Quick and painless if you bring what you need with you. Nice friendly people who are there to help you. The receptionist system with waiting for your number to be called works great. Check the website and you will know exactly what you need and what will work. I arrived with no line and was in and out in 20 minutes for a real ID license renewal.

I had a very pleasant DMV experience here and I was a little worried after reading the other reviews. I thought the location was easy to find, clean, and had a good layout/waiting area. I arrived right when it opened and the wait time was better than I've had at other DMV locations. I thought the staff was helpful and straightforward. Would definitely choose this location again.

Had some trepidation to go to DMV in Newport based on the posted reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised. There was a man who checked my paperwork prior to me getting into the line. Despite being only 5-6 people waiting and 2-3 clerks working it had taken me 32 mins to get my license renewed. The system is slow because the software seems to take its time, so maybe the DMV program should get upgraded. Overall very positive experience.

Can I just say.... WOW!!!! What has happened to the age-old "oh, man, I gotta go to the DMV... THAT will be an all day affair, filled with dread, aggravation, and rude clerks..." ~ Well, let me be the one to inform you: Those days appear to be OVER!!!! For one thing (one of the few positive things to come out of the covid pandemic), everything is done BY APPOINTMENT. This eliminates walking into your local DMV office, not knowing if there's going to be 30 people in front of you, or a 3-hour wait, or other unforeseen circumstances that only add to your dread of going there in the first place! The clerk we had did say to us that our DMV (this is related to NH only -- of course I have no idea how other state governments are operating) is going to maintain this "by appointment" format, even after covid, after everything opens back up. I was super excited about this! Now, that's not to say that you can't, or won't be allowed to, "walk-in" without an appointment ~ there are circumstances requiring the DMV that you cannot foresee & cannot book an appointment for because it's of an immediate or emergency nature. So I'm certain that accommodations will be made for those circumstances as well, BUT for those who are doing a sort of "pre-arranged" business -- driver's license renewal, driver's license testing, annual motor vehicle/motorcycle/boat/trailer registration, these things that happen on the same schedule throughout life, those will be "by appointment". Ok, now that we've covered that ~ the nitty-gritty of our appointment yesterday.... So.... Due to many complications (Covid being the biggest issue because the DMV was literally shutdown at the precise time we needed them last year & the system would not allow me to complete this process online, even though I had all the correct documentation from the state, but that's all in the past! But our work schedules & deaths in the family really crimped our availability to make & KEEP an appointment...), both my & my husband's licenses had expired in the same month last year. In NH, everything goes by your birthday, or birth month, and we both share the month of March for ours. And now it's "D-Day" --- we HAD to get our licenses renewed. It had been nearly a full year at this point. That concerned me. I wasn't sure how the DMV would react to our delayed renewals, even with covid interrupting our lives. But to our amazement, and great surprise, and childlike happiness, IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN EASIER!!!!!!!! We had a truly wonderful clerk named Brandy. She made everything as plain & simple & easy as possible. It was rather mind-blowing. I certainly had never experienced this level of customer service, so far above & beyond. Brandy was a LIFESAVER. And I'm not even exaggerating. All I can say is that we (me & hubby) have a profoundly improved opinion of our NH DMV. Maybe we just got lucky, maybe Brandy was a "one-off", but it doesn't matter because the service we got was so far above any prior experience we'd had that we want the world to know (or, at least, NH residents!) that the DMV ought not instill dread in us any longer! Big huge kudos to NH DMV, to NH state government for making these changes, and mostly, to Brandy, our DMV Angel! 😇
