This review has been a long time coming, as I thought I had done a review when I posted my pics, seems as though I was mistaken 🤷🏼‍♀
I use to eat at Main Moon on a regular basis, I then moved from the area so I couldn't go as often as I once did. Through that time they had done a remodel of their restaurant (many years ago now).
I love the way they have their buffet arranged now, much more presentable. (Mind you, I'm comparing it to how it was many years ago).
When I find myself visiting Ilion I take advantage of making a visit for their amazing buffet!
The staff are wonderful, the food is amazing, and the establishment is very clean and taken care of. The prices are very reasonable for a buffet, for the quality, taste, and freshens of their large selection of food.
The buffet is always full, even if you think that something is running low, they are quick to top it off with a fresh batch.
I really can't say enough good about Main Moon!
I highly recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed.

As I have but been there in quit sometime, I see they are not allowing dine -in at this time. That is very disappointing.

No dining room since covid, so atmosphere is N/A.
The food is always excellent and so is the service!!!

Food is always delicious & staff is always nice. This is the only place where I can get takeout, bring it home and my food is still piping hot like it just came off the stove.

Main Moon's food is always fresh, hot and ready when I walk in the door to pick it up. I've never had to wait and I've never had a bad experience. Love their steamed dumplings and their lo mein! Highly recommend.

Very nice Chinese food. In my opinion, the best in the area. Always clean and never overly greasy.

My family and I have had dinner delivered from here a few times now. No matter what time of night we order, the food is always fresh! The sweet and sour and general Tso chicken are always the right level of crispy and not overcooked. The egg rolls are perfection, not soggy or full of grease. I've had all of these issues when ordering from other Chinese takeout, so to find not a single problem with this place makes me so happy!

Always great food. We order with grubhub delivery is fast and we've tried other Chinese restaurants in the area. The main moon has been in Ilion since I was a kid. It's our favorite place for Chinese.😁

Good food at good prices with alot of choices

The pandemic really changed the landscape of the restaurant business and main moon along with it. They explained why they have held off opening the buffet, due to staffing and rising food cost. I opted for their takeout and loved it. They're a locally owned family restaurant and a staple in the community for over 20 years!

We miss the varied and delicious buffet (since Covid), but at least for now can still enjoy good takeout from our favorite local Chinese restaurant.

For good Chinese food buffet, I have been to many places. This place had a good amount of verity. Everything I tried was very good and I had 3 plates. It was quite packed for a Thursday and the staff kept the dishes cleared and the food trays full. Because it is 10 minutes closer than the other places I have been going to and the food actually tasted better, I think we have a new place to frequent.

It was another awesome experience at the Main Moon. Food was excellent and customer service is always top knotch. Today we had the lunch buffet and the food selection was very good. Even the 7 year old with us enjoyed her meal!

Food is delicious and portions are generous! Although they don't have a gluten free menu, they do their best to accommodate my diet. They make things without sauce or with white sauce which is gluten free.

Visiting from Florida. Wish we had this here. Food was good, hot replenished often. Best variety I have ever seen. The place was clean and the employees were nice.

Love a good local spot. The food is always delicious and the service is friendly. I always come back because the taste of the food is always consistently great!

Food and service are great. The bread pudding is a little too sweet and the choccy pudding is not sweet enough. However if you mix the two it is perfect!

Great service and food, even when we went when they were between lunch and dinner. Highly recommend.

Very good they make a special dish for me that reminds me of China Town... it's sweet and sour chicken in black bean sauce!!
