Attended 2004-2005. SGA President..completed 2 trades.... I also met my wife there. We are still together.. I am also still in my trade field..

For those of us without a silver spoon this is the closest to college we're going to come. It is definitely what you make of it.
My only suggestion would be a separation of age groups.

I went here 1999-2000 and I had a great experience. I met some good people..still talk to them from time to time. The staff there was really good because they want you to succeed! Job Corps saved my life and I wouldn’t change a thing about my experience there!

I went to OD job Corp in 1986, I was like Juvenile Detention , fighting almost every day, I was young didn't care about a education, I wish I would of take the program seriously, even it was like a bad setting at that time. But that's life you want something good it not going to come easy.

Old Dominion Job Corps is a place where a young adult can find direction, a stable job, life and leadership experience. Also most of all, people who want to see you succeed. The staff are caring exceptional people who deal with all the stressors of their own lives and of this place, to work with you to achieve your best you. I went in for Pharmacy Technician and got certified in 3 months (normally a 6-9 month course, shouts out to Mrs. Ellis!) got CPR training and best of all gave me the opportunity to join the military something I didn't think I wanted to do, but I needed. Is the food the best? No. Are the dorms the greatest? Could be better. But all in all there are way worse Job Corps centers out there and I miss my time there and wish I could rewind it all. So if you need a leg up then seriously consider ODJCC, so you can be a functional adult.

I went in 93 I must admit I had a very good time there. You work one week and school one week.
I wouldn't trade my experience for nothing....

Hey!! My name is Billy. Some may remember me and some may not. I went here in 2012- to 2013. These people that work here was amazing. I learned a lot. I did so much. Even worked in the cafe. I had a good time before there sent me to Advance Training. I took up 2 trades. I highly recommend you go here.

It's been a little over a decade since I've graduated from here. However, let me tell you, You are there to get an education and a trade so don't go there BS'ing and not take it seriously. You have to be serious about YOUR FUTURE! You have to take it seriously. You are not there to have fun.. Please stay strong minded and accomplish what you need to in order to move forward in life. Best decision I've made. I earned my GED and completed Information Technology. Thank you ODJCC for changing my life for the best!! I wonder if Mr. Grimes is still there. He is a good person. I will never forget how this place changed my life for the best!!!!!!!!
