Jerseyville Illinois Secretary of State Facility

Worth the 40 mile round trip drive from Bethalto. I was in, renewed my license and took a vision exam in 15 minutes without having to make an appointment. I waited in line far longer than that after making an appointment in Bethalto and then being turned away because they claimed (rudely) that they couldn’t use the utility bill I brought to change my address. The Jerseyville staff is far more efficient and pleasant. Going forward I will be making the drive there whenever I need services.

We're in alton and our closest dmv is bethalto but I ABSOLUTELY hate dealing with them so I GLADLY make the trip to Jerseyville when needed. The service is always exceptional compared to "neighboring" dmvs. I have NEVER been spoken rudely to, nor have I EVER had to wait an unreasonably long time for service. The staff ALWAYS seems friendly and will great you with a smile!
Even though it's a longer drive, I'm also fairly confident in saying I'm STILL in and out and back home faster than the other places even though they're closer lol. I sincerely hope this NEVER changes!! Jerseyville dmv employees-you ARE appreciated!!! ;-) thank you!

I dread going to the DMV for any reason. I would rather go anywhere else BUT I needed to get my read ID so I didn’t have a choice. Idc where I live it will be worth it to drive to Jerseyville DMV. I got there this morning and was helped by Becky. I had all my paperwork in order and walked out with my temp real id drivers license at 8:17. Yes in 17 minutes I was in and out of the DMV. Becky was very friendly:) 5 out of 5

Had a great experience talking with a service rep or manager on the phone. She walked me through an extremely detailed process to sell a vehicle owned by my deceased parents and transfer the title to the new owner. It was the end of her day yet she was still patient and thorough explaining it all so I would be prepared with the necessary paperwork when I arrived. This was my second positive phone experience with the agency along with two great in person visits where the reps were professional and helpful.

I have only good things to say about the staff here. I know people hate long waits but that's just part of life. I was frustrated with other situations coming in and they were kind, professional and gave me all the information I needed to get me set up. Very nice staff, working hard in difficult situations.

When entering the building we were put on a list given a piece of paper to wait in our cat and we would be called . After 2 hours and multiple people leaving we went to check how much longer it would be, was told there was no list , rude doesn't even describe how hateful they were. Someone should be fired

Went in for a lost Driver’s license and they were fantastic. They got me in quickly and all of the staff were smiling and friendly. Best experience I’ve ever had in the DMV!! Thank you!!

I really can't believe how helpful everyone was. Yea it's a little stressful with all the rules, but the employees are people and in my opinion they are doing the best job they can with the resources at their disposal.

I've been to jerseyville three times now for medical purposes and I must admit it is a beautiful quaint little town they offer all kinds of modern amenities so you don't feel like you're in a small rural town I guess but the locals do like to like to stare at people who are definitely obviously from out of town but I don't care I'll be back.

I've lived in Jersey County for 36 years and have used this DMV countless times, with nothing but positive experiences. The negative reviews here are puzzling to me -- the workers at this DMV may not generally be warm-and-fuzzy, but they know their jobs thoroughly and do them more quickly and efficiently than I've ever experienced at any other DMV. Having lived in states where the DMVs are so inefficient that people have to take off an entire day of work to wait in impossibly long lines, simply to renew a car's registration, this facility is a dream come true! There is a fast-moving registration-renewal line, and even when I've had to take a number while waiting to renew my driver's license, the wait has never been more than 10 or 15 minutes. My review is unbiased -- I don't personally know any of these workers or their family or friends. But I applaud them for a job well done, each and every time I've had to visit this facility.

Had a really good driving experience with the instructor. He was very helpful. The lady behind the desk was very knowledgeable and did a great job helping me get everything i needed. Thank you to everyone at the Jerseyville DMV.

Fortunately very little wait time for me as I was only purchasing stickers. Wait time for others was longer, all thanks to the pandemic. Helpful staff.

Every time i have been they all have been great to me. Sometimes you have to wait, but it’s not bad. Remember driving is a privilege not a right. Now put down your phone and drive.

Fastest and cleanest dmv I've EVER been to. Friendly staff and VERY well cleaned after each person.

I only had to wait a short amount of time to get my Identification Card. Even though it was packed they still got to me quickly.
