Gay friendly. Doctor Hug is the best, ever. Listens to concerns and understanding about all issues I have being a recovering addict and medication management. She’s intelligent and gives you the time you need to discuss things, she respects people with prior knowledge and listens and is willing to have dialogue about options. I’ve never not been provided with every single thing I need here.

I’ve read the reviews and was extremely worried on how I would be treated at this Doctors office, but I bit the bullet and scheduled my appointment, I suffer from depression and not only were the receptionist at BOTH offices extremely kind, but they heard me and got me through my application quickly and got me an appointment even quicker, the receptionists at the Alma location are SUPER sweet and kind, my doctor is AMAZING and so is her nurse. I’m glad I picked this office!

So, I felt like I was not getting the care I needed at my old Primary care doctor. And I decide to try out Prism Primary care, in Alma, after my psychiatrist suggested it. I got placed with Kristina Hug. When I met her she reassured me, that here, I would finally get the care I needed for my heart and so forth. She said she would take a month to dig deep into my chart and figure out the best plan of action. I come back after a month and she evaluates me and tells me to come back 3 months later even when I had acute illnesses that needed to be handled. And she did not go over any of my history and current problems like she said we would. She told me if I had another UTI she would send me to a urologist. And for my chronic IBS she told me she could get me into the University of Michigan Hospital, in Ann Arbor, to get the full GI workup and get a colonoscopy. So, I’m waiting for the referrals and they never came. A month later, I felt like I had a UTI so, I scheduled an appointment and they tested my urine. They told me they would call if it was positive. Never got a call. Another month goes by, and I’m still feeling these symptoms so, I call the office to make another appointment. The receptionist said that they have been trying to contact me and could not get a hold of me. She said the culture came back positive and we sent you an antibiotic to Walmart a month ago. But I had to get 3 different refills, on my normal prescriptions, throughout the month and there was never a prescription for an antibiotic. I asked them why they couldnt get a hold of me and they did not have an explanation. They had my right number and my mom’s number as well if they could not get a hold of me. And she verified that was in my chart and it was up to day. And my mom never got a call either. So, they sent in a prescription for macrobid that day. The pharmacy was about to close and it was still not ready. I had clinicals from 5am-5pm the next day so, I planned to pick it up after clinicals. But, that next morning I woke up and could not pee at all and when I could, a little bit, it had blood clots in it. So, I get a little worried. I called Prism primary care and they told me its fine and just take the antibitotic when I got home. So, I get to my clinical and my stomach starts to really hurt and its distended, flank pain on both sides, and I was really nauseous. So, I told my instructor and she sent me to the ER at Midland hospital. They ended up having to straight cath me to remove the urine then I got a CT done. Which ended up showing I had a kidney and bladder infection. So, they sent me home with a proper prescription for infection of the kidney not for a UTI. They told me to follow up with my primary care doctor. I call an make an appointment that day. The day of the appointment I was running a little late and I called and said I would be 10 minutes late because my class got late. I asked if she wanted me to reschedule instead. The receptionist said hold on let me talk to Kristina. After a long pause, the receptionist said actually she is releasing you from the practice because you are telling people we never sent a prescription and they did not want to care for me anymore. As Im only 2 minutes away at this point. She said they will send me a letter releasing me. And before I could say anything they hung up. I have never felt more disrespected and disgusted. She never followed through with her promises and had no idea what they were doing. She put my health and well being at risk. I give her and the practice no stars if thats an option, worst provider I have ever seen. Not professional at all. Careless. With the one person I should be able to trust, my doctor, and she did not care about me as a person or a patient. Do not go here unless you want to get worse. Don’t go here if you want to be heard, you will only be dismissed. Please for your safety find another provider.

Very poor service. After I sent the initial application for my parents, they were supposed to send me confirmation within two days. Not receiving it, I called up after three days and they said that they would send the confirmation by the next day so I could submit the new patient packet. But nobody called back. So, after a week, I called and was on hold for 15 mins. After 15 mins they disconnected the call. So, I called again and went through the waiting to find out that the applications were sitting at some doctors table for review for acceptance and this was not the doctor I requested for. Physician health plan website says that the particular doctor is accepting new patients but actually they are not. My parents are diabetic and they need urgent insulin but even in a week they could not send me acceptance. This is completely careless. If they can not take patients, they should just say that they can't so that patients could go to another provider.

Very careless staff! Manager doesn’t know anything about this business and by talking to him on phone, he seems to be a moron! Their nurse practitioner doesnt know much other than saying “I am sorry that I cannot help any further”. Heard that their only doctor has “left” the practice. Not sure how this mold filled facility is still operational by all means. Their only functioning restroom is in terrible shape! Waiting room has mold written all over it. Exam rooms have leaky and sagging roofs. Stay away unless you have no other options in this county!
