UP North Roast Coffee

The only coffee we have been drinking for many many years! We have tried almost every different flavor they offer and are never disappointed. Jake and Julia, the owners, are the sweetest couple and are always happy to take time to chat and recommend coffee products. All other staff members are always so helpful and wonderful as well. Every Christmas we buy bags of coffee to give as gifts and the recipients are always so excited about it. Highly recommend!!!

Smoothest espresso I've had in a long time, and the latte milk was steamed to perfection 🤌 friendly, knowledgeable owner ready to make conversation and discuss the coffee. The roaster is visible in the back. Will go again.

I love the cherry flavored coffee. I went to the UP to visit friends and took a trip to this store. So glad I did! I ended up picking up 8 bags of my favorite coffee.

This is absolutely the best coffee! My husband and I order it in bulk and have it shipped to Wyoming. We have tried others and always go back to UP North Roast. Our favorite flavor is the Highlanders Grogg. It is heaven in a cup!!!

Best coffee in Michigan! I always grab a few bags when I’m in the UP and then the rest of the year I order shipping downstate. Their coffee is consistently great! I love the Ludington Espresso and the Yooper Fuel! The customer service is also fantastic.

Good coffee. At the east end of the main street, a bit separated from other shops, but worth a stop for a coffee to go. There were a couple of tables out front, but we were in our way elsewhere.

Nice staff. Graciously accepting my suggestions for new ideas (bakery, but that's because I love muffins, cookies, scones, etc).

Their coffee is absolutely delicious! I've had several different roasts - their straight roasts are smooth and strong, and their flavored roasts are the best I've had. I've ordered online, and they have fast shipping. I love that the bags are marked with the dates the beans were roasted! I can't wait to visit in person.

Amazing coffee. I am completely hooked on their organic medium roast. I stopped in on a whim and got a cup of coffee and I was thoroughly impressed. I’m a big coffee drinker and this is hands-down my favorite coffee! I’ll be back to stock up!

I have never visited in person, but have frequently ordered their roasts online. Their dark roasts are the best dark roasts I have ever had. I am a big dark roast fan, so I haven't tried their other roasts. I am sure they are great as well. They just have absolutely outstanding coffee, and my order is always quickly delivered to me. The next time I am in the U.P., I will try to detour through Escanaba so I can visit in-person!

Some of the best coffee I have ever had. I order 5lb bags which they give you a deal for buying bulk. The prices are awesome for this quality of coffee and they ship online. This is the best place to get presents if your visiting with selections like the “Hunters Brew”. They have 10+ kinds of coffee and are very helpful on getting you one that best fit your taste buds! Also have yooper gift shop items. Coffee available by the cup but no espresso.

There are many big-name coffee brands out there: Hills Bros., Maxwell House, Folgers. UP North Roast takes them into the ring and with a one-two combo, single-round KOs them all. I do a morning Twitch chatting show, and this brand coffee gives me the boost I need to get through a 5-8 hour stream. Whether it's the Brazilian, the Colombian, Cherry UP, or (my favorite,) the Peppermint Stick, there's never a wrong option (except, maybe, the Pumpkin Spice. But, that's a matter of opinion. LOL!)

Up North Roast is a very unique and quiet small town business that roasts very high quality blends. Two favorites: Premium blend and the more bold yet smooth Honduran blend. Every cup is smooth and has such great flavor. All of the employees are very kind and always willing to help you find the blend best for you. Highlander grogg is my daily coffee! The flavors are amazing, the store is always clean and smells wonderful and staff is super awesome to chat with. Highly recommend!

A gem in Escanaba. Their coffee is to die for. The atmosphere of the store is very well done and their brand is established well and consistent with their products. Was greeted very kindly and the personality of the store clerk was most welcoming. Will buy my coffee beans here as long as I live in the area.
