House of Ludington

We didn’t stay here due to being local, we came out for dinner for my sisters birthday. Everything was EXCELLENT!!! We all got steaks! The salad bar was clean and fresh! All of our steaks were cooked to perfection. The Gorgonzola cheese sauce was amazing! Our server was great, never had to wait for a drink. We will be coming here for more dinners in the future. Highly recommend the Saturday date night special too! Great deal!

We had dinner, the food was perfection, the service fabulous. We were celebrating our anniversary in the Upper Peninsula, and this restaurant far exceeded our expectations!!! Thank you all for a memorable evening, we enjoyed every aspect of it!!!

We loved staying at the Luddington. Our room was very nice, exactly as pictured and the staff was very good about making sure we were happy with it. Dinner was delicious and service was great, beautiful dining room. We had a nightcap at the bar and everyone was very friendly. The bartender was able to recommend drinks for us that we both loved.

We had an excellent dining experience. Our server was great, the kitchen was efficient and the food was delicious. 3 of us had salads with salmon and 1 had a steak dinner. We’ll be back!

Amazing food! Wonderful atmosphere! Over 5 star quality with that small town warm feeling.

Had the "date night" dinner. All I can say is WOW! Great steaks and a large amount of food. Service is excellent! May I say also enjoy a chocolate martini while you are there. Leaving full, buzzed, and happy.

Absolutely a wonderful stay, had a couple hiccups, but everything was taken care of. The owner even came up with my own nick name for me we want to visit here again. Or other location. The staff both hotel and restaurant are exceptional. location nice,and oh my goodness the meal. One of the best special meal. Even better then the most recommended of Herferd and brews. We will be coming the almost 4 hour trip and for longer.

Love the face-lift. New life has been breathed into this Historical landmark in Escanaba. The live music brings in a great atmosphere.

An absolute fabulous night at the HOL for their inaugural "House Band" debut. The music was first class. The drinks were delicious and the crowd was quite large and filled with fun people.

Old school hotel, very clean rooms. It's not the Marriott and it's not supposed to be. Comfortable and right on lake Michigan. Live music Wednesday. They sound great.

My husband, Jason and I stayed at The House of Ludington this weekend. We loved it. We both love historic structures. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed a short tour of the ballroom, and hearing some history of the hotel. The rooms are cute. Comfortable bed.

My wife and I like quirky old inns. We really like the rooms. I marked it down one notch because they are still renovating.

Came to visit my best friend, he rents an apartment here. His apt was very charming with a beautiful view! I had the fish fry and drinks on the Friday that I was there, and it was great! The owners were very nice and gave good advice about where to visit and eat, etc. I will be coming back whether I visit or move here, either way!

Very Clean Historical building to stay in. Did I mention it is very clean. I had to move the bed to plug in a cord and even behind and under the bed was clean. You can tell the owners take great pride in their building. I would recommend a fan. I asked for one and they provided one within minutes. Great place.

Very clean and well maintained. Room had AC and plenty of space. The location was perfect, with a view of the lake and conviently close to the Escanaba Downtown area. Restaurant / bar wasn't open in hotel yet when we stayed. Payment through Paypal scared me a bit at first, but rest assured it is a legitimate establishment!

Okay, let me first say that if you are looking for a “typical” hotel/restaurant, this is not it. It feels a little like a B&B, but it’s not. It’s a little odd and quirky. People are super friendly , the fish fry excellent (wish they served potato pancakes like in wisconsin), and the rooms quaint (but odd).
The rooms are interesting furnished, worn, but clean. The bed had an excellent mattress and I slept like a baby.
If you are looking for different, but nice, check it out.

A wonderful experience. Take the time to read the history of this historical and possibly haunted hotel. Every room is unique. It's just like staying in the 1800's. Lots of antiques and even old clothes hanging in some closets. The owners are wonderful and don't care if you explore the hotel. $ 80 a night.

Beautiful historic hotel! We loved staying here. The room was great, comfortable bed, cable TV, clean bedding, and an awesome view of the lake. Only downside, there was no coffee pot or fridge in the room. I would stay here again.
