Smokey's Country Market

Considering how tiny Capitan is, Smokey’s is impressive. I’m always surprised when I see that they carry such a good variety of products, including some of the better brands you might not expect in such a remote location. And their hours are also really good.

Love this store. Now that I have moved to Morelia, Mexico, it will be sorely missed. Great staff and managers.

We love our local grocery store! For a smaller store, they have an excellent selection, and the people are always friendly.

If you are in in town doing a tourist stop checking out all things smokey or if you're just on your way from one point to another and passing through. I definitely recommend stopping here. It's not much to look at and at first you might think boy this place could use a facelift. But then you realize how quick the service is how great the food is and that it just has that Hometown restaurant feel. We travel lots of different places and we have been here a couple times once for breakfast and once for lunch and plan on coming back a few more times before we head back home. This is a great place to stop in while you're waiting for your laundry down the street as well.

I would rather shop here than Walmart. Prices are not as good as the W word, but for small town feel and great accommodating workers this is the place. Good meat department. And when they a special is an awesome
price point. So, it’s my go to store for country folk! And especially good for a quick items you have forgotten for a receipt. I live 21 miles from town. So 12 miles from home better than driving time to The City.

Great selection and friendly service. Reminds me of a store I worked in as a teenager back in the dark ages!
Really enjoyed the small town feel as opposed to a Walmart or other large chain.
One of the standouts that needs your attention if you go there is the meat market. Really impressive looking meat at reasonable pricing.

Smokey’s is a very clean, very well-stocked grocery store that serves a huge rural area. I found everything I needed for my family and I was impressed by the beautiful produce, especially.

I always shop at Smokey's when I am in Capitan. If you can't get cell signal they have free internet. Helped me meet up with a friend wheny cell didn't work. 😎❤

Great place. Clean. The employees very helpful. One of the gals even called a friend to help me find some homemade tamales. The man at the register wrapped my steaks up with baggies for me. The steaks looked great and the butcher came out and assisted me with picking out the rib eyes. Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to Smokey's market

If you were going through Capitan New Mexico, you have to stop at the store. Their food they make in the deli is amazing. Better than most restaurants. It's a great little store. Anytime I am in Capitan, I go to Smokey's.

This is a neat little country market, well stocked and friendly. Also, they have delicious smoked meat in the deli and excellent burritos. A little pricey, but worth the stop!
The also have a nice meat market. Good and fresh!

I love that this place is always clean and welcoming. Prices are comparable to places like Albertsons. Deli food is real country cooking unlike other fast food places. They take the time to simmer and properly flavor their foods. Enjoy lunch or dinner there anytime. Clean tables to eat at or you can get it to go.

Amazing manager and staff. They were super friendly to my 2 year old son. He left with a big smile on his face. It is so rare to find staff at a store who pay attention a d talk to the little ones. I absolutely LOVE this place.

Very pleasant lady at check out made my first visit a friendly and welcoming one. She at first made an error on my diet cokes and caught it herself and corrected it. She explained it to me in detail and bless her heart, was very nice 👌

I, once, had a delicious tasting turkey when I was 18. I am now 52 and once again, I had the privilege of eating a great tasting one. I ordered it and they cooked it for me free of charge. I could not believe how little they had charged me; it should have cost so much more, that's how delicious it was...

Absolutely amazing place!! If you are in town you need to go there for groceries, very friendly staff and a massive selection of products. They even have the jelly jars with handles! They have all kinds of meat and snacks.

Fantastic What a wonderful market and how they are dealing with the crunch right now is incredible. You are talking a small town market with a wonderful deli and a real deli lunch, that's delicious. Shopping there is a treat, with great selections and competitively priced.

We drove through this little town on our way back to AZ from NM and I fell in love with it. We stopped at Smokey's for some snacks for the road and found it very charming and the staff very friendly. Next time we are in NM we plan on spending a little more time here rather than just passing through.
