I love to visit when I can. So many dogs (cats and other animals) needing homes and lots of love...makes me sad to walk away when they all want your attention and love....and to get out of there of course lol... thinking maybe volunteering there...Well they helped my daughter feed her two dogs when we had no money for dog food...thank you Appomattox Animal Shelter

I really enjoy volunteering here and seeing the animals. Plus the staff are great and friendly.

I LOVE this place! It's cleaner than most, the staff is friendly, the prices are very reasonable and they often have specials so you can adopt pets for free, and the dogs are so sweet. If you want to volunteer, you just have to fill out one form and they could always use the help! And if you just want to check out a dog for a few hours to take them on a walk or to your house to help teach them that not all people are horrible and abusive, you can do that too. :) If you want to see the pets they have for adoption, you can go through the Lynchburg Humane Society's page and look at 'Adoptable Pets' and then Appomattox.
