Hen House Venue

I've been here twice so far and there was definitely a reason why I came back. The staff is very friendly and actually care about how they can service you. The prices are very reasonable and if you like home cooked meals this is the place for you. I've eaten the meatloaf, Mexican Casserole and cobblers so far. I'd order them again. I love the feel of the restaurant as the décor is really neat. There's plenty of space in the barn area or even the yard for outdoor events. I've tried the recommendations by the staff and wasn't disappointed at all. They serve delicious desserts as well. Can't beat the overall experience of the Hen House. Highly recommend you to try it out.

Finally made it to the restaurant last night and it was well worth the trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the food.

I got the meatloaf which comes with mashed potatoes, green beans & a biscuit. My friend got the country style ribs which came with baked beans & potato salad.

The biscuits were so good we bought extra to take home 😂

If you go you must try one of their homemade desserts. So yummy 😋 I got the turtle cheesecake and took a chocolate peanut butter to go 👍🏻

Lovely rustic, country decor. Live music on Friday evening. Our waitress was wonderful.

Beware of their hours if you are planning a visit. Open for lunch only Tuesday-Friday 11 am-2 pm & they open for dinner on Friday evenings 5-8 pm. Closed Saturday, Sunday & Monday.

Last Friday of the month they have a live music & classic cars.

We had a delightful time & would definitely make plans to come back out sometime to try something else off the menu ♥👍🏻😊

We stopped here on a recommendation of a friend and we loved it. The food was exceptional, and the atmosphere is really cool, you're just in a big barn. We had a 3 and 5 year old boys with us and they loved the live music - perfect place to bring kids. When we're in the area we'll definitely stop by again.

One of the best places to eat in town! Also, great staff. And love the owners! Nothing is deep fried which gives the Hen House a healthy flare. But it’s still home cookin’ comfort food. Just stop in if you’re passing through! If you’re lucky, you can catch some live music inside the added on part of the building. Great place!

We love the home cooked meals. Check their open hours before making plans. It is always fresh.

The food was wonderful! I had the Friday night rib special. The staff was very welcoming and provided great service. The establishment is perfect for a dinner for two, or an entire wedding party. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique dining experience!!

Best dining experience around! Food is amazing. Deserts are amazing. Friendly efficient wait staff who see to all your dining needs. Place is always clean. You can call it in and they will have it ready for you. They can handle a small group to a large group and very family friendly. Just tell Kristy what your lil heart desires and I bet she can fix you up!

Homemade Fresh food served here. A nice country atmosphere. When we arrived, we got to choose where we sat. We chose in the back room that has a stage and tons of seating. It looked like we were sitting in an old rustic barn. There were tons to look at while eating and also they had a young woman with a beautiful voice playing and singing for us during our meal. We left out of there full and happy :)

Food is delicious. Daily specials are always the best quality and reasonably priced, and the desserts are incredible! . Love the Prairie Barn ambiance of the restaurant and event center. This place has been an valuable asset to the Okemah area for many years now, and I hope it will continue for years more.

I have driven by here a few times, and thought it looked like a cute small town restaurant. Today I was tasked with some work in town and had an hour delay, and the manager told me I should go eat here for lunch while waiting.

My first impression was the door greeter, who immediately stepped into my path to the door and demanded that I give him some scratches and then meowed rather deeply that I could enter. I like him.

It bigger than it looks inside and I bet it's a great place to come for dinner and some music. I had a simple sandwich and salad, but it was really good. The lunch specials seemed really good, but I'm getting too old and fat to enjoy them.
And my resolve failed and I had some Chocolate pie for dessert.

The Hen House catered a small family reunion for us. Wow! The roast beef, real mashed potatoes and green beans were all wonderful. The chicken dressing was a meal in itself. Perfectly seasoned too. My sweet tooth won’t forget the Oatmeal Cream Pies and Cheesecake though.

Love the atmosphere and great staff! So far everything we have tried on the menu has been great! It is our new " meet spot". You MUST try the Pecan Pie Bread Pudding!

Every meal I have had here has been excellent. I especially like their pot-roast. I generally don't care for pot-roast but it is consistently tender and tasty with real mashed potatoes gravy and green beans. I look forward to going to Okemah just to go to " The Hen House".

We are vegan, and I am gluten intolerant, so we weren't sure about finding anything in this cozy comfort food cafe, but they were so accommodating that we left happy with full bellies. So friendly and a hopping hub for locals in the home of Woodie Guthrie. This place is heaven to you meat, cheese, and pie eaters out there too.

Wonderful time! Friendly, genuine people. Great music, I think Cassie Leslie was performing during our visit, she should be on the voice! (: anyway, great food and awesome atmosphere
