Excellent place with great service and caring staff. On a slow day, we were offered a small portion of delicious brisket enchiladas. The owners are caring and will hold conversation. I recommend the cheeseburger!

We absolutely love this restaurant! For a small town their prices are reasonable and their plate size is large. Everything is always fresh and you can place an order over the phone easily and go pick it up within 10 minutes. They have daily specials and occasionally have music but what's really great about this place is that they help out the community. After the ice storm in February they provided free meals to the people in town and they have also donated their time and services to other charitable interests.
181 Diner and BBQ also has a great variety in their menu and for a town that serves mostly Mexican food it is refreshing to be able to get chicken fried steak old fashioned hamburgers or just a good grilled cheese sandwich. We love their daily specials with the brisket tacos being my husbands favorite while I prefer the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and green beans.
My son tends to be a picky eater and he even loves their hamburgers so the fact that he would choose them over McDonald's really says something LOL. And speaking of fast food you get one small meal for 9 bucks at a chain restaurant while here you can feed an entire family for less than 20 and you get wholesome food, fresh sides, and its all home cooked!
We like to support this restaurant anytime we can and we are urge others that live in Taft, Sinton or Gregory to come check it out; you will not be disappointed!

Pretty awesome place to eat! Burgers are big and prices are low, not much else you can ask for. The brisket is also damm good as well. Great place to eat and drink at after a long day working.

The food was real good only thing it took a while to get our food but will worth it. The price was good for our food. I ordered fish and shrimp it tasted great only wish that they gave us more shrimp the fish was huge.

What a great little diner! The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. I had chicken fried steak, and it was excellent. I will definitely be back.

Absolutely phenomenal food fast service 2 monster burgers with bacon and fried eggs cheese jalapeno the works drinks fries all home cooked for 20$ badass flavor place can't be beat
