This place is always busy at lunch and you may have a bit of a wait for your initial service when you sit. But the ladies really work hard and will almost always greet you and let you know they will be with you soon. Food always comes out fast. Food is good, homemade, even hand cut fries, and I absolutely love the fried catfish. The hushpuppies are a good size and not overcooked little tiny balls like some restaurants give you. Highly recommend.

We ate here twice while camping out at the nearby state park. The first morning we came in because our campfire breakfast was rained out with a HUGE storm. The service was so friendly and food so good we decided to just come back the next morning when we packed up to move on. Second breakfast was as good as the first! The outside of the building suggests it was the old US Post Office, inside is bright and cheery in red with a tin ceiling.

We love our Roost! Great place to meet up for breakfast with your friends or by yourself. Plenty of locals to chat with. The servers are the best around. Lunch/dinner are also good. Try the homemade pies! And ask Ashley what’s in the sawdust pie.

Great little place, worth looking for! Biscuits were obviously homemade, hot, light and delicious. Huge pancakes made just right. I had an omelet that was chock full of meat. The husband had eggs and ham. All cooked exactly as they should. Our service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend them for breakfast.

This place is a hidden gem with a great following. Great fresh food! The chicken fried steak is great with lots of side choices. Count on me to be a regular customer from this point forward.

Too crowded. Catfish dinner was 3 finger- size fiilets, below standard size. Not even kids plate size. Staff friendly doing best they could. 2 burgers and breakfast entries were delicious. Will not be back.

Great food, freshly cooked homestyle foods. Made fresh to order. Best onion rings around the lake area! They are super busy on Saturdays and Sundays and Lunch time during the week. Never are we ever disappointed. Worth the drive to the small town for some big helpings of a home cooked meal. Their pies are fresh and saw dust pie is excellent! Big 👍

We showed up at 1:30 on Labor Day (they close at 2:00) and our party of 6 was served quickly with no complaints, and we stayed until we were finished at 2:30, which was very nice of the staff. Debbie's a fun and efficient waitress, and we were impressed with the low prices and the solid food. We're coming back for breakfast, which looks fabulous and is served until close. Just a couple of blocks off 175 - be sure to check it out for a quick, good breakfast/lunch on your next trip!

We had the basic breakfast and the Moma Hen. The pancakes with the Mama Hen were huge. Great food for a reasonable price.

My family and I took a trip down to Texas and wanted to try something new. The service was fantastic and the food was out of this world. The pioneer Burger with onion rings was the best burger I’ve ever had. They also had beautiful restrooms! Definitely will stop again next time we are down.

One of the best restaurants on Cedar Creek Lake. They have the best homemade steak fingers I've ever had.
