Kelley Cafe

Yep. It’s an old elementary school turned discreet random restaurant in a residential area. I admit, after traveling off the highway I was a bit confused upon arrival. Asked a local to confirm, parked and went inside. It was weekday mid afternoon so I was solo. Ate at the counter. It’s a unique vibe. I couldn’t really figure it out but stayed to check out the meal. Service was solid. Prices are good. Ordered the chicken fried steak. Really good. Huge portions. Would definitely recommend. I did see a sign that said something about special events only on the weekends so maybe check to make sure it’s open if Sat Sun. Give it a try.

Cool place to eat with great food and nice atmosphere. The restaurant is an old school cafeteria! The owner, Brenda, purchased the school and converted the cafeteria into the Cafe, and several classroom are rented or leased to small businesses to use as offices. Great way to reprpose an old building for sure. The food is delicious, and the serving sizes are more than sufficient. If you leave there hungry, it's your own fault! Staff is very friendly and I've never had a long wait for my food. No matter how busy they are, the service and speed is never a problem they even have a separate room for parties, events, or meetings if you need it. Adult beverages are also available, which is a nice touch if you enjoy a beer or wine with your meal. Very highly recommend this place!

Kelley's Cafe always has great hot meals delivered in a flash. Takeout orders are always ready when I order carryout. When we dine in the atmosphere takes a little getting use to but the service and food never disappoint! There's always plenty of room for me and my family to gather together and definitely a gem hidden in the haystack. The menu has an extensive list of items they offer but it's great to have a variety and try something new each time. The appetizer assorted platter with mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, and fried pickles was so delicious it's our favorite!

This restaurant in an old school was a hit for lunch. The stuffed avocado one friend had was gobbled right up. My other friend's chicken fried steak covered a majority of her rather large plate & she declared it delicious. My salad was modified for my vegan diet with no meat or cheese but extra avocado & it was perfect. Great food & the fun atmosphere make this place a must when driving through CCity.

Kelly's Cafe is in an old elementary school cafeteria. Quaint and unassuming, the menu makes up for the building. The food is AWESOME! Everything we ordered was plated beautifully, perfect temperature, and excellent taste! If you haven't visited Kelly's Cafe, you need to RUN to visit this hidden gem in Colorado City.

I was a little apprehensive at first. When I pulled up it’s in an old school. To my surprise it’s been the best food I’ve had in Colorad City. Had the Cowboy burger for lunch and had the club sandwich for dinner. The stuffed jalapeños are fresh! Definitely coming back again tomorrow before I leave town! Highly recommend!!

Wow what a treat this place was! As you roll up, it looks like a school cafeteria. But it is far from any school cafeteria that I ever dined in. The food was all fresh and fantastic! Everything that we had was wonderful! The service was equally outstanding. Don’t miss this place. It definitely doesn’t look like your normal restaurant but the food surpasses.

Unusual location for a restaurant, but great to see buildings repurposed. Definitely worth the drive off the highway as we were passing thru town going home to North Central Texas. Boyfriend said the mashed potatoes were the best and the Sunday roast was good. My blt was great!

Very different place to eat. It's inside of a school cafeteria that's no longer in use. Service was pretty good. May have needed a little more help because The Rotary Club was meeting that morning. Some orders were not quite right. However, the food was awesome!

We were driving to Abilene and just stopped here to have a bite to eat. Its definitely a little hole in the wall. Even more unique its in a old school building. The place was super well kept and clean. The food was amazing! The menu had so many choices it was hard to decide! The waitress was really nice and attentive! Definitely recommend to everyone! If I could give more stars I would!

This place is amazing customer service was awesome less that a ten minute wait for a hot and yummy mean 10/10 would recommend and will definitely come back

Well worth the short jaunt off the interstate. Great food and wonderful environment with the rehab of a former elementary school. Highly recommend!

Great place. Awesome how they have repurposed the schools auditorium into a cafe that serves wonderful food. Service is really good. It is clean and decorated neatly. We enjoyed being there and will return.

REALLY good food. Their food speaks for itself. Ordered the regular nachos (pretty large helping) all of it was fresh you could tell. The vegetables on it and the chips. Very good. Will be coming back.

Loved everything about this place! Located in a retired school building. Comfy seating, tastefully decorated, good background music, great service. Very complete and interesting menu. Dessert to die for!

Aside from a crazy location ,if your in for great service and great food,this place is a must ..

Who doesn't like French fries in a Salad! Ladies and Gents, I present you the Cheeseburger French Fry Salad. Don't feel guilty when Your wife asks "What did you eat?", You can reply proudly with "I had a salad!"
