The Pizza Outpost

This charming little outpost delivers legit New York "style" hand-tossed pizza. The ingredients are fresh, and it's surprising to find pizza this good, far off the beaten path. Veronica is always on point, so much so that it borders on predictive mind reading!

Also, to those who will argue that it's not a New York pizza... it's not. If that's what you're looking for, go to: Di Fara Pizza, Totonno's Pizzeria Napolitana, OPS, LEO, Una Pizza Napolitana, L&B Spumoni Garden, or Roebling Pizza. You will learn what the city has to offer and also what a New York slice is vs. the other equally amazing options.

You're in a tiny dusty town in a sparsely populated county, far from civilization. There is only one gas station in town! Outpost is a good name for just that reason. If you can't comprehend what that means, please feel free to compare it to other places as you travel west on Hwy. 90 all the way to El Paso.

I look forward to coming here every time I'm in town... and if I'm passing through, I call an order in advance to pickup. Side note: Did I mention they have gluten-free crusts! If you know the area, you know that's uncommon. Highly recommend this place.

Friendlist staff there is. Sean greated us and was a great introduction to the place. The restaurant is full of fun things on the wall. The salad was excellent and freah. Garlic knots were the star. The pizzas are huge! Good crust and good flavor. Pop by and visit this great restaurant

My wife and I stopped by just to get a slice but after eating in the car we had to go back for another slice! Very good pizza plus great taste we talked to the staff and they are all very friendly like family. Without a doubt, we will return with more time to try other dishes on the menu.

I came in because the advertisement said New York style pizza...
I was very happy to see this style pizza and the fact that it taste absolutely fabulous all the way down to the last crumb on the edge of the pizza. I liked it so much I actually came back a second night which I rarely do for any restaurant much less Pizza... The first night which I took pictures was meat lovers and cheese pizza.... And I believe I actually liked the cheese pizza better.
Tonight I came back and got a specialty pizza which had cherry tomato halves white sauce some greens, chicken and I really really liked it so much that I got two pieces.
Sorry I didn't take any pictures tonight.
I also got a dessert called espresso tiramisi...
So I doubt I'll be back at this location this week but I am sure in the future I will return when I am in brackettville Texas.
By the way the business is for sale so hopefully someone buys it and doesn't change the recipe.

We had an incredible time at the pizza outpost thanks to Marisol! Would recommend 10/10 gold star. Only the coolest best people around go there, obviously. Will be back!

Exactly what I'm used to growing up in Jersey, good pizza by the slice! While waiting I saw some of the soups and garlic knots that just come out of the kitchen, they looked so good! But I came for beer and pizza and I'm super happy I stopped in!

Great find in a small town! The pizza was really good, and they have a salad bar option as well.

The place is very cute and the pizza is amazing! Great spot to eat at while travelling. Veronica was really nice.

We took our orders really quickly, the price range was unexpected surprisingly cheap for everything. The atmosphere was pleasing with an older look. Food was very good, crust was amazing! For all the ranch lovers it was very good. All in all I was pleased, will come back!

The quality is fantastic and the atmosphere is reminiscent of my childhood summers in New Jersey Pizzerias, but with a cooler looking decor.
Dallas, Rolando and Veronica were super friendly, and went out of their way to accommodate our special requests!!!

Texas sized slices of pizza. Meat lover's tasted great. The bruschetta margherita pizza was excellent. Pizza crust homemade, cooked just right. Fresh prepped salad.

But topper.....the calzone. HUGE. Hugely huge. 20 oz. Sports drink is a good reference of size.

Service was great as well. Interior of establishment is very rustic classy.

Will certainly return.

Great pizza! We were on a hunting trip and were needing a late supper. They were the only place open in town, so we were a little leary. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was amazing! Atmosphere and service was good as well. We will definitely be back next time we go hunting.

Very good New York slice pizza, a salad bar, and wonderful pastas too. The seating area very comfortable too. It's a gourmet experience and wonderful surprise in Brackettville, Texas. Highly recommended. And be sure to try the coffee too!

UPDATE...
As always, this restaurant keeps us coming back for more. Usually on Sunday after church is when we visit. Never a bad experience :)

My girlfriend and I visit this restaurant regularly after church on Sundays. The pizza is thin crust style with tasty toppings. Yummy :) An extensive salad bar that always pleases my better half. The only knock on this location is the limited parking and limited indoor seating. The nice side of this coin is that their business is thriving and demand is high, but it is sometimes tough to find a decent parking spot or a table to sit down inside. Overall, the staff is quite nice and courteous. Very nice folks. What a nice treat to have a quality restaurant like The Pizza Outpost in such a small town :)

We grabbed pizza by the slice, garlic knots, and cheesecake with coffee -- a nice decadent late lunch. We were served by Victoria (I think; wearing a yellow apron), and the service was great! From memory, a few items were served on disposables (the cheesecake for sure) that I wish had been plated; I have similar feedback for many places, unfortunately. Kudos for having coffee mugs!

Good pizza, good, fast service and nice, friendly staff. Will definitely eat here again. The building seems a little strange at first, connected to a car wash that has been partially converted to outdoor seating and access to their drive thru, but still has seemingly one working car wash stall (?), but this just adds to the small town charm of the place, and you should definitely make plans to stop here on your drive.

This place is great. Felicia (sp?) Was so kind and helpful. Food is great. They have a cauliflower crust and it is so good, even if you don't avoid gluten I highly recommend it!
