Central City Skate Park

the skate park is very nice. It's so fun to just ride around and choose lines

Definetly should expand it all the kids love it! Location actually works better than expect, just need to develop an official parking area and add/ expand more it's all very ideal

Awesome place to hang out! Has a bunch of lines and options for both skateboards and bikes.

It was fun

I took a trip out from Omaha to visit this park and it was a lot of fun! Just short of a perfect 5 stars. I love it's unique design, creative layout and features, and everything was made really well as most modern parks are these days. The log is definitely something I've never seen in any other park before, the bridge next to it is really cool too, and I like the way most of the rails in this park are like I-beams - really cool and makes grinds easier on them. Some cons that bring the park down 1 star is although it's a well-designed park, there is a sense of flatness to it beyond the one elevated end where the snakerun, quarterpipe, and stairs are. Beyond that, the other half of the park feels a bit flat, and thus not quite as interesting as the other for someone who skates the way I do. As well, a few "dips" in the park like the gap in the middle that the bridge goes over that sharply rolls down and back up the other side, and the middle part that dips down between the two humps of the "dragon" ramp are a bit too sharp of transition to ride through comfortably, so some issues with steepness and transition could have been improved upon. Lastly, the location: while I'm glad that the people of Central City has such a nice park they can go to, I was left questioning whether or not a park this nice deserves to be sitting out practically in middle-of-nowhere conservative Nebraska. Selfishly, I wish it were closer to home for me, but beyond just that, it seems like the small-town mentality that would influence people to mock/look down on skaters couldn't quite be avoided as my friend and I on my visit were at one point heckled by others using the basketball court next to the skatepark. I definitely wouldn't feel the safest or most welcome going back alone, so if you visit from out of town, bring a friend like I did!
