Chateaugay State Forest Trail Entrance

Lots of fun. Numerous trails crisscross the property. Wear water resistant shoes, as some trails cross streams or go through boggy areas. The actual trailhead is down the gravel road.

The trail maps are a bit deciving. We thought it would turn back on itself at some point it dropped us out on the roadie 2 miles from where we parked at the trail head. Will go again but wish the trails were better marked

Peaceful quiet a piece of heaven

Headed on the trail towards the east and it was a great scenic mile or so until it started getting really swampy. The swamp continues for over a mile and you end up on a logging road and it meets out to the main road. Highly don't recommend trying to go through that swamp.
