Ione Hotel

Didn't sleep here. Just had dinner at Burke's Family Restaurant. It was excellent. Very generous portions of tasty food. Their risotto is out of this world.

Fun place to stay with lots of history. Some things in the room could use an update but it's kinda what to expect from a historic, gold rush hotel. One thing I didn't like was you had to lock the door from the inside using a key. (No regular lock). But there was a fridge and fireplace, a microwave, and water dispenser right outside our door. The guy who checked us in was very nice. We were doing the Paranormal Preston Castle tour and Rail Explorers, so the location was very convenient.

I was there for a work lunch and it was so amazing! Food was beyond delicious and staff was friendly and made sure the group of us 30+ were very well cared for! I will return with my family thank you!!

My first contact was with Mack who was very accommodating / flexible with the dates I wanted to stay at the hotel. My second contact was Alejandro who greeted me with open arms. Made sure my room was ready and comfortable. He was always available for any questions. Rooms are clean and the bed is like sleeping on a cloud. The hotel is an experience in itself - your imagination will take you back to the gold rush days. Last but NOT LEAST - this hotel is connected to one of the BEST family restaurants I have ever been to. Burke Family Restaurant has the best SERVICE and FOOD you will ever experience. Plus - meet Dennis at the piano in the bar, what a guy. He can manage those ivories like Beethoven and is accompanied by one of the best saxophone players ever.

Burke's Family Restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat. The charming decor is only surpassed by the excellent service. The food is reasonably priced and well prepared.

What a fun old place! Alex, the hotel staff as well as the saloon and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was yummy and there was a very entertaining guitarists playing at the saloon.
We lost a necklace at some point but didn't notice until late the night after we left. My wife called Alex and he got up to go check for it. What a good guy!

Darling place. Such an historic feeling. We sat next to an actual well remaining from the days of old, while we devoured a delightful meal. We are a plentiful meal for a reasonable price. The service was personable.

We rented out the entire Ione Hotel for our wedding party and had a great experience. Mack and Alejandro were responsive, helpful, and always available if we needed anything during our stay. The hotel itself is an experience complete with pull-flush toilets and total old-world charm. Our guests had a great time hanging out on the balcony and exploring the cute little town. Thanks to everyone for helping us have our perfect wedding weekend!

This review is long overdue. A few years ago my car broke down in Ione. Ended up at this hotel and I was absolutely shocked by how kind and hospitable the staff here were. Huge plus is that the building is cool and old timey. Loved it and would definitely stay here in the future.

We came in late but there was no clerk, but there was a phone number posted on the desk so i filled out the hotel registration form,went back to the car and called the number and Alex answered. He told me that we would be in number 6 and we could go on in and that there was parking in the back of the bank next door if i did not want to park on main street. Alex was fantastic, the antiques were great, the atmosphere was authentic goldrush. Will definitely return. Here is a hint and you can thank me later, turn on the hot water 5 min before you start your shower. Enjoy!

I just love this place. It's an old hotel but it's charming and I love the rustic feel to it. The staff is amazing and the owner is wonderful. it wouldn't make sense to stay anywhere else. This place is awesome if you're into the paranormal. If you want modern, then go to a modern place. Don't complain about a historical place that was built in the 1850s. Read up about the fire and how they rebuilt the hotel on their web page. You can check out pictures and see for yourself. When i stay, the room is always clean, even if it's older. My bed is always comfy and the sheets are always fresh...what else can I ask for? This is a great experience for those that love the old west feel. Ione is so much fun. Have an open mind and don't come here acting like a snob. No one likes a complaining snob! Enjoy. 😉

Wonderful trip with my daughter. Good service and easy check in and out. The Mexican restaurant next door was excellent as well.

We stopped in for drinks at the bar. Our bartender, Luke, was very experienced and friendly. We love the decor and the way the bar is set up. Good selection of alcohol and drinks. There are a few little games on the bar to play too. Would definitely return for dinner as well next time.

This place is great, the staff are so nice, Alejandro keeps this place in great shape. It’s really clean and the historic features and appliances are so much fun to use!! Ask to see the other historic rooms if you can, they’re all different. The bar is so historic and cute!!

Make sure to ask Alejandro about the crazy history and the friendly ghosts that live here, you won’t be disappointed. I’m from here, and I’ve really seen it change for the better over the years. It reminds me of the St George hotel in Volcano.

We had dinner with the folks. It was quiet, food was delicious and some very nice soothing music to go with it! Great place, good food and excellent service.

This old hotel is really neat and has a lot of history! We actually went to the restaurant for a ladies club luncheon at Burke's restaurant in the hotel. The food was awesome and the service was great! They have kept the historic look, so it's fun to visit. I highly recommend this place. 😋🤗

This old hotel is really charming. I'm pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. The beds aren't the best, but the restaurant and bar downstairs with friendly staff and live music more than make up for it.

Very cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. So much history in this place!! JOHN WAYNE STAYED HERE!! So did Rob Lowe!! Make this a destination when in Ione.

The new Burke Family Restaurant in the Ione hotel is everything a Ione Restaurant should be! Steak and coconut shrimp was awesome! Service was great even had George strait on radio. It does not get better than that! Only thing that could make this place better is an improved beer list. I would like to see them offer more of the classics like Hamm’s, Rainer, coors original. But public house is a short walk and they offer all of these!

Very nice place to stay. The rooms are quaint which adds to the fun. Very clean and comfortable bed. On site restaurant and saloon. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
