We LOVE supporting the Preston Castle Foundation, we have enjoyed all our experiences at the Preston Castle Haunt each year 🎃 If you’ve never been it’s truly a very cool experience. Happy Haunting 🎃

I absolutely lived it! Great haunted house attraction worth the while. It was a good length as they take you all the way to the third floor. I thought it was going to be more of a historical haunted tour, but it was not. I still gad a lot of fun, though. Just don't take your kids if they get easily scared or don't like the dark, or creepy things. My 12 yr old came out crying, and we had to carry my 5-year-old n have his eyes covered most of the time.

Amazing castle. Its a private organization so donations is very much appreciated even though there's already a fee going in. There still plenty of rooms to be renovate. The volunteers are very nice too and we appreciate their time volunteering to keep the site open.

Great place - worthy of support. Please help support this important part of California's history. Tours are available sometimes and they also hold regular events. The people behind this organization are very committed and put a lot of effort to ensuring this landmark is saved. If you like visiting off-the-wall and historic places in California, you'll need to see the Preston Castle. It's important we don't lose these places.

For a Friday it was busy, they had shuttle buses coming around to pick up people and dropping them off where the line starts. The walk isn't too far either. On our way back to our car We definitely walked back and got to see the abandoned houses. Now for the experience it was good, there were actors everywhere and at every corner. I think it would've been even more scarier if the kids dressed in orange like in the "Apparition" movie. Once it was over we got out through the entrance of the building which led to the merch stand, they also had food, drinks, and bathrooms. The sheriff and fire department where there too, so definitely it was safe. If you can't go up stairs then I don't recommend it to you. Other than that I definitely have to come back during daylight and get a tour of the place.

I been driving up to this castle for years! Never been inside until me and my mom did the haunted castle tour!!!! It was awesome!!! Definitely recommend! The actors were great! They did such a good job. Coming back next year! They also have food vendors and popcorn outside! Recommend you arrive 30minutes ahead or pay the extra to go to vip. VERY CREEPY! LOVED IT!

Went for the menagerie market and was lucky enough to get a tour of the building as well. Seeing the history while learning about it is just so incredible. Highly recommend to anyone who has any sort of interest for history, castles, or great views!

Really beautiful place with a fascinating history. The tour of the building was really interesting and the docents stationed throughout were so nice and informative. What the foundation has done to try and preserve and restore this building is quite impressive.

The haunted house has certainly been better, but still a fun place to go.... and by the way keep your small children home.

And take your time as you walk through... not sure why most people are hurrying through a haunted house.

Visited off season in April and had a fantastic time. Lots to learn and lots of friendly volunteers to help you enjoy your tour. This place is well worth the visit and the town is charming too.

I can't say enough good things about this landmark in our backyard. The tour is amazing, it's a step back in time, the docents are wonderful and provide so much information. I was very pleased to see the younger docents giving tours, it's gives me hope that places like this will endure. I encourage you to visit and/or donate to it's upkeep.

We couldn't go in, renovations taking place. We were allowed to drive by. It was built as a youth detention compound and used to have dairy, hogs, farming, etc. so youths would have a trade after completing their sentence. It was co-ed and accommodated hundreds of young offenders.

Grew up here, and we have our class reunions here. I'm glad to see the restoration on-going.

I took a tour here - wow! How amazing!! It’s such a great piece of California history! The tour was really good - a lot of info given and we got to spend time checking out the various rooms, etc. it didn’t feel rushed at all. I love the place. Hope to come back for a photo shoot!
