Don Luis Méxican Restaurant

Don Luis has the best Diablo shrimp I have ever eaten! The food here is always hot, fresh, and flavorful! We ordered the "Mexican gravy" for an appetizer and it did not disappoint!

I took pictures of the food but my SD card crashed and lost all my pictures. But I think I can describe it to you. It's fantastic! The slow cooked and well seasoned chunks of meat is full of flavor. Rice and beans as good as home cooking. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. When in Ione go here.

I’m adding to my review here. I just wanted to remind you how awesome and delicious this place and the food is. New items on the menu are amazing and you must try the pozole. I seem to be getting a bit forgetful when it comes to taking pictures but half way through shoveling my food in my mouth I remembered to snap a couple photos so you can see the passion that went into making this perfect dish!

We don't live in this area...jus got done fishing lake amador and let me tell you, after all day, we needed some good food! And we found it! ...super yummy! Great tasting food! Great service! Will return next time!

We took our adult daughters out for lunch on the patio. Great food, as always. The atmosphere was awesome. They were busy, so the table wasn't wiped down, but it wasn't super messy. Definitely will go again.

Very welcoming restaurant. There is an entrance main Street as well as the back. The back has a comfortable patio with tables and chairs. The food took a bit to get out but it was worth the wait. The flavors were incredible.

We stopped at Don Luis for lunch on our way back from Lake Tahoe and it was a great experience. Food and service is top notch. This is one of the best tasting Mexican food I've had in a long time and our servers were awesome too. On a side note, they have the best and cleanest restrooms too. This place is about 2 hr from my home but I'll not hesitate to come back just for food.

Very nice restaurant in the old part of Ione. Excellent food. Reasonable prices. Great staff. I enjoyed my time there.

I ordered the steak and eggs very good with the green chili sauce. I would recommend this place for date night. Love all the football helmets on display and pictures on the wall as well 👌 a nice touch to make for a great atmosphere.

Food was really good. The waitress was a little slow and it wasn't even busy at the time we were there. I would recommend you to give it a try and see what you think of it.

Best Mexican food in the county in my opinion. Offers a unique experience with food you can't find elsewhere. It's nice to have a restaurant nearby with its own flavor that isn't replicated by others.

Service is great, I haven't had issues during the handful of times I've been in.

Atmosphere is nice, slightly cramped especially if it's busy. My only complaint would be the menu, it's stylish and difficult for me to read.

Best food in the area definitely check it out and try all the sauces

The food here was exceptional, I had the lunch special with enchilada and the sauce was amazing. Wife had the chilliquile with eggs also with super tasty sauce. Staff was nice enough, all business, but they took care of us. 5 stars!

I had the breakfast special and it was perfect! I asked for eggs over easy and hashbrowns crispy. Both were cooked to perfection. Special did not come with toast but at the end, I was grateful!! A few chips and salsa pre meal and I was comfortably full without feeling stuffed!! Our waitress was exceptionally attentive. I was pleased to witness her wiping down all their menus. I greatly appreciated this attention to customer sanitation.

Excellent. One of the top Mexican restaurants in California that I've visited. Fresh ingredients were used. portions were enormous. For concerns about pandemics, outdoor seating was positioned properly. The staff was polite and helpful.

My third time here. Chips and salsa were an amazing start. I ordered the lunch Beef taco and cheese enchilada. Taco was full, flavorful and amazing. The cheese enchilada was a cheese lovers dream. Unfortunately there was too much cheese for me. I'll be back in the future.

Great food. Great service, food hot and the restrooms were some of the cleanest I have encountered in a restaurant. Definitely a place I will keep returning to.
