Looney Bean

A very good cafe in Bishop which was spacious and cute at the same time. This cafe looked great with sierra nevada mountains in the background.

We have ordered Velvet Elvis Espresso Drink - which was a combination of caramel, while chocolate & espresso. I will say this drink was comforting , but it could have been better if the coffee flavor was little more intense. The reason I rated this place 5 on 5 even though their coffee is not the best when compared
to some other cafes I have tried, is because of their egg beet bowl. I can still remember how good it tasted. It was a bowl with all fresh ingredients , lettuce , sprouts, beets, argula leaves , Brussel sprouts (crunchy & baked) topped off perfectly with two eggs , some chipotle sauce and one of the best , rich, luxurious , creamy Feta cheese I have ever had. The beets in the bowl with its sweet flavor complemented well with the crunchy Brussel sprouts and the rich feta cheese took the whole bowl to next level
. This bowl was healthy , wholesome and delicious. If I ever visit this cafe I will have the Egg beet bowl again and again.

Their service was a bit slow I felt, we have waiting for close to 30mins to get our order which was a drawback. When in Bishop I recommend to visit this cafe for sure and try their egg beet bowl.

Bright and comfortable. My daughters enjoyed some coco and I had an oat mocha. Scones and yogurt to fill bellies, then on our way. Thanks!

Stopped here for a quick coffee break on my way through Bishop. I got an oat milk Cappuchino. It was perfect! Hot and fresh with strong flavor. Got my order almost immediately.

I wish I knew Looney Beans has so many great breakfast options. I would definitely like to try their breakfast burritos. They look chock-full with good ingredients!

I’ve been driving through Bishop for about 20 years and I never stopped here. My serious loss! Absolutely a perfect coffee shop with great drip coffee and outstanding variety of pastries, deli stuff, and beverages. Also, lots of local art and gifts. Absolute joy!

Nice atmosphere, staff was friendly and drinks were good. Loved their Vanilla Chai - it was the perfect drink to warm up on a rainy day. Spent a few days stuck in Bishop during the hurricane and it was nice to have a place like this to relax.

A great place to pick up food and drinks on the road or on the way out of town. They have premade food you can grab or you can order something fresh. They had 2 different types of gluten free muffins and they were able to make me a breakfast burrito in a to go bowl, so the flour tortilla wasn’t an issue for me. Vegetarian options as well and the coffee was good. Seemed to be mostly out of towners and people just passing thru.

Amazing food!! Give the cook a raise! We are always pleasantly surprised b what comes out of the kitchen of this coffee shop.

This was the perfect spot for coffee and pastries. We were just passing thru the town and this place caught our eye. Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere and awesome baked good and coffee. The dirty hippie house favorite was exactly what I needed
to get back on the rode for another full day of driving. Having been an owner of a coffee cart years ago, I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

We have stopped at the Looney Bean every time we’ve driven through on our way to and from Idaho to LA for years. We literally plan on departures to make sure we can hit it for breakfast or an iced coffee in the afternoon!

We have had a variety of baked goods (various croissants, bagels, etc) and more egg/bacon/cheese/sausage bagel sandwiches than I could count over the years. Delicious. They have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu with salads (love the beet salad), sandwiches and smoothies and a refrigerated case with chia pudding, salads and sandwiches so you have a massive selection to choose from.

The baristas ALWAYS make the best flat whites and we look forward to them in the morning as much as our bagel sandwiches!

There’s also artwork and photography displayed by local artists (we’ve purchased for our home and then had guests ask for a referral), as well as jewelry and other items for sale.

We will no longer be doing the drive so don’t know when we’ll be back, but we will absolutely stop at the Looney Bean if we do!

Good selection of drinks. Nice atmosphere. Cashier made a mistake and gave me wrong drink and they fixed it with no issues. It's always a pleasure to have good service. I recommend if your in town stopping by and trying them.

Best breakfast/lunch place in town. A nice wide range of choices, some very healthy options, friendly staff, a nice location. Can't go wrong here - you'd be mad to miss this place if you're in town for a few days, or even just passing through.

Great spot for gourmet coffee and a quick bite.

Being allergic to eggs limits breakfast food for me. Looney Bean came to the rescue!
The vegan burrito was amazing. I added brussel sprouts which I high recommend! This burrito was not overwhelmed by potatoes. I recommend getting some of their delicious salsa added.

This is a must stop for Bishop! The food and drinks are the absolute BEST! The beans that they use here are my favorite. My personal favorites are the French roast and Colombian Med roast. Dirty Hippie with avocado toast is my go to!

Ahhhh! Great coffee! The staff here is very nice and chatty. Put a smile on my face! This is a really fun coffee shop with lots of amazing local art. Feast your eyes on the mirrors and paintings on the wall while you drink a nice cup of coffee. Not sure where they get the bagels from but they are also amazing I highly suggest getting the jalapeño bagel. There’s lots of room and plenty of table space if you want to sit down here and work. The Wi-Fi is adequate for checking emails and social media posts. There’s lots of light in here because of the large windows which is really nice because

Great coffee and pastries, better croissants than most bakeries I’ve been to anywhere! Their lunch and breakfast food is very good too.

These guys were amazing. The coffee is delicious and they shared their coffee filters to help me out when my hotel ran out. Great coffee and people.

I’ve been through Bishop several times and I can’t believe I didn’t stop here in the past sooner! The staff were friendly and the menu items were great. The restaurant and bathroom itself were clean. I ordered a pumpkin latte, along with a jalapeño bagel as well as avocado toast. All of it was on point. They were very busy the morning I came in, filled with locals getting their morning order before they headed off to work or school. Check them out the next time you’re in Bishop, CA. You won’t be disappointed!

They were happy to make my decaf mocha just moments before closing time- 4pm every day. Excellent spiced house mocha. Fully accessible, with an accessible restroom. They have their own off-street parking. Just a couple blocks from the Tesla Supercharger.

Best way to start the day. As boring as it sounds recommend the latte and a plain bagel with cream cheese. A coupe cool trinkets and local things to buy inside too!
