El Sabroso Mexican grill & seafood(OPEN)

Definitely not what I expected to find in a "truck stop" but I have absolutely zero complaints. Indoor and outdoor seating. The food is as fresh as it gets. This station is set off in the hills in a field and it was a beautiful environment to park and spend my evening while I wait for another load. Dinner was phenomenal. Flavor was fantastic. I definitely hope I get to pass through here again so I get another opportunity to enjoy a meal here. Customer service was spot on. Kind and fast. And, the Aqua Fresca is always an authentic beverage to compliment an authentic meal.

Food was so fresh and flavorful, totally unexpected for a gas station stop. This has authentic flavor and made right in front of you. Strong tastes but not too spicy or salty. Guacamole is free of charge for vegetarian burritos - but the guac is so good, worth the extra charge. Service was very kind and accommodating. Will be back!

Great food, reasonable price. One of my most favorite places to stop and get myself a giant burrito.

Closed at 3:30 on a Saturday?! This is the best food on the interstate for a 100 miles come on everybody order a burrito on Saturday afternoon to keep this place open...

I got off the freeway for gas and was willing to eat just about anything. The Subway line was long so I figured what the heck, I'll try this mall food court looking Mexican place. Expecting it to be mediocre or worse. It blew away my expectations. It's not as good as a San Diego taqueria but my super nachos were very legit. Even made by an old Mexican lady who spoke no English. Definitely recommend this over Subway if you're here and hungry and like Mexican food.

We ordered the super nachos. They fried the chips fresh for us! Mind blown. The nachos were so huge and delicious. Two adults split it and still couldn't finish it. It was so delicious.

The Burrito here is amazing. The people behind the counter and the cook are very nice and friendly.

This place reminds me of my favorite place in my home town in Utah. Food was great! The hostess who took my order was very polite and caring. She explained what all came with what. The food was cooked excellent, props to the chef behind the grill, I got my order to go, I had the 2 chille rellenos with ride and beans (My favorite Mexican dish.) I wish I had more room in my stomach to go back and get more. Very good place. I will be stopping here again when I drive through.

Great service! The place was really nice and clean. Although the meals might be a little bit pricey, it's worth it! FOOD WAS SO GOOD. Fav place and fav employees.

I ordered a chicken super nacho. So good and heavy! I like that they have a salsa bar. I piled on the habanero salsa!

Perfect travel pit stop to get the cheapest gas in the area and get excellent Mexican food.

Happened upon this place a couple of years ago on our way to Southern California and it's become a "must stop" spot for me. I love their burritos - everything about it is delicious! From the steak to the rice and beans, it's perfect. During this past weekend's trip, I made sure to stop on the way to Los Angeles and back. Yes, for me, their burritos are that good!

El Sabroso is located in a truck stop/gas station/fast food exit right off of I-5; exit 319 for Avenal, to be exact. Besides El Sabroso there's a Subway, Little Caesars and a convenience store, and there are gas pumps for both big rigs (one one side) and cars on the other side.

While I am not looking forward to another road trip to Southern California, stopping at El Sabroso makes it better.

Truckers you should stop hear the prices are lower than what they were a year ago
and the place is great , and beautiful place I am Wayne and I work for Walmart as a truck driver and I’ve stopped here for years and years and years so it is , a great place I love it .
I love Mexican food that’s who I am.
By the way it’s almost all drive-through parking so you don’t have to back into a parking spot.
Great place to park and stay for 10 hour break. Better now !!!

Very tasty. I'm more accustomed to tex mex, but I was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely stop again.

Second time coming here to eat, and the food is good! First time I had the enchilada plate, and this time around I had the chili Verde plate. Delicious! Much love to Michelle and the cook in the back, for making my hunger pains go away as a weary traveler.

There is no torta's unlike the pictures of the menu suggest.

Wonderful authentic food and great people. Good size portions and reasonable prices. Best burrito in my life.
