Jack's Restaurant

Came in for breakfast on the recommendation from a friend who grew up in Bishop, while in town to visit another friend's grave. Chose the home made corned-beef hash and eggs and coffee which came out to $16.50 before tip. Probably the best hash I have ever tasted. I was sad when it was gone. The service was great yet unobtrusive. If I am ever in town again, I will definitely be returning.

Absolutely wonderful breakfast experience. We had the option of a free continental breakfast at our hotel. I read about this place and we skipped the free meal. So, so glad we did!! This place is top notch. We told the manager, Marco, that his food and service were way up on the scale for an eatery. Sierra took great care of us. ☕ Coffee was excellent and everyone loved their choices for breakfast. Highly highly recommended. Did I just say highly twice? Yes. It was intentional. 👍👍

Great place for a home style meal! I like it too because you could get a cup of soup and a half of a sandwich if you don’t have a large appetite, which was just perfect for me and my mom

Excellent place to stop for breakfast on your way up to Mammoth. The chicken fried steak is authentic and yummy (needs a little salt) but it’s the real deal, not something they pulled out of the freezer.

My ham & cheese omelette was perfect. I added a bit of salsa, which also is fresh, not canned.

The orange cranberry muffin is a perfect side as well as the sourdough toast.

Can’t go wrong and prices are great!

This is a nice little restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our waitress Sierra was especially great. The breakfast menu was all we tried, but it was delicious 😋

Tried this place first time while we were driving through where we've been a thousand times. The food was fantastic the service was excellent. Our server was Kelly and she was both attentive and friendly and really paid attention to detail. You know you found a gem when even the napkin is of good quality. If they don't skimp on the small stuff they definitely don't skimp on the big stuff and it showed. The chili was fantastic obviously homemade and slow cooked you can tell a good chili just by the way it looks. Everything we ordered was excellent but was completely out done buy the pie. OMG we had to buy an entire one and bring it home. My biggest recommendation is the peach but my brother said the pumpkin was excellent as well. I actually asked the server to give my compliments to the chef.

Came here for our first time. We had breakfast, Our food was very good! Coffee and baked goods were excellent!We would definitely recommend this place! This place is worth the stop if your traveling.

Really really loved the atmosphere and the awesome decorations...I couldn't even look at my meal because I loved how there was so. So much to see and explore in this timeless restaurant. I love to fish and I had to go around checking every mural on display. Just amazing to think these fish were real. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed our breakfast here as we were heading to Lake Tahoe for week.

Had a delicious breakfast here! Great service. The waitress lowered the blinds when the rising sun got a bit blinding. And my salt shaker cap fell off, dumping salt on my food. The staff was very kind and remade me food, and made sure the give me a working salt shaker. Appreciate how kind they were. The fresh squeezed orange juice is definitely worth getting! Love the warm nostalgic atmosphere. Would recommend and come back.

Jacks! Always the best breakfast. The wait staff are always super friendly, the cooks make up the food amazingly fast, and it tastes absolutely delicious. Best part is that the prices are incredibly reasonable.

Fun restaurant in the middle of the main strip in Bishop. Parking lot adjacent. No outside dining. Restaurant if quite large, clean, and whimsically decorated. Staff is efficient and pleasant. Meals are basic and fairly priced. This restaurant is an institution for many. Only open from 7 AM to 2 PM.

Awesome breakfast! My wife LOVES eggs Benedict, but she normally isn't able to finish her entire plate. Jack's has a ½ Benedict with perfectly cooked hash browns, and she was SO happy. I also loved my pecan waffles... everything was quite wonderful. Not to mention, the servers are really sweet. We will definitely be stopping by during or travels again!

Lunch was on a Sunday at 1:00 pm. After reading so many positive reviews, Jacks Restaurant did not let us down. The employees, led by the Manager were hard workers, yet quite attentive to the customers. No one stood around talking, even the manager was sweeping the carpet while running register. The lunch was hot and tasty, likewise the dessert. The restrooms were clean. It can be indeed be appreciated that they had a busy Sunday and wanted to get out of there, as closing time was at 2:00 pm. One employee was overheard making a derogatory comment about a customer who she deemed to be too slow...NOT good! That was the only objectionable issue encountered.

Jack's is a great western-themed coffee shop in the heart of Bishop, California. Perfect stop for an early-morning or lunch visit on your commute up California through the Sierra Nevada mountains up through to Reno. The favorites had were the pecan waffles and eggs benedict with perfectly crisp, well done hash brown potatoes, adding their green signature bottled hot sauce is the best for the savory dishes--tangy with tomatillo and just enough spice.
