The service I received at this office was stellar. I needed to have my backcountry permit printed. No problem! I would be in town a few days and wanted hiking recommendations. No problem! (I even bought a book.) I needed to compare mountain passes that access a linear trail I'm heading for. No problem! The ranger even added directions to the Bristlecone Grove, nearby. I highly recommend this station for all outdoor questions, merchandise and services along the Eastern Sierra.

I received good customer service and was happy with the merchandise/gifts selection. The only thing was the ranger had a lot of trouble finding the items I was purchasing on their tablet system. Took several minutes while others waited. The rangers might need more training on this system, or the system needs to be updated to be user friendlier. But the rangers were polite throughout the entire process.

Ancient Bristlecone pine forest - Amazing walk through some of the oldest trees in the world and view of the Sierra Mountain Range.

My daughter Nicole and I met Ranger Hannah Sunday, July 1st. on the trail to Treasure Lakes. Her good judgement and compassion made a great father daughter trip happen!

If there were any staffing issues with unfriendly staff, they seem to be completely solved as Scott and I think her name was Becky were fantastic. So was Dave way up at 12000 ft. Can’t ask for better.

Great Ranger Station with friendly, helpful staff, lots of maps and other useful information, bear canister rental, etc. Can't ask for more than that!

Orders of magnitude better than the ranger station in Lone Pine if you need a backcountry permit

I recently went backpacking in mammoth and had to pick up my pass here. Definitely an easy spot to find, and it was very well kept. Customer service was friendly, and a real big help. They let us know weather conditions before we left, and made us feel more informed about what we were about to do. Can't wait to stop by again next year.
