Sweet Smiles - West Garden Grove

Strengths:
I have been skeptical of a lot of orthodontics locations, but this place has been a very good experience. From the orthodontist Dr. Hideki Ikeda to the very caring employee Jaime Colin, everyone will ensure you are well taken care of. Dr. Ikeda is likely the best orthodontist provider at this location and if you like him and want him to be your attending dentist, you can request that with the front desk. If preferred, you are even able to request your assistant/other staff members who will always try to be the one who takes care of you before the orthodontist sees you.

As a provider myself, I respect that Dr. Ikeda always has valuable information to share, stays within his scope of practice, and does not overstep the boundaries like many other providers out there. All questions are always welcomed to be asked at any time. There is even room for some casual discussions if time allows. Unlike other dental/ortho offices that gladly take your money and then try to do their work without giving you periodic updates after each appointment, Dr. Ikeda is very OCD and a perfectionist which reflect very well on your treatment plan and progress.

Jaime Colin is the one individual who has always tried to keep my spirits up and acted like a friend to me. He has a very nice personality and will keep a conversation going if needed. It is very rare to find this behavior at any healthcare provider's offices because the other provider offices place a larger emphasis on profits rather than customer satisfaction and customer relationship management.

Weaknesses:
Although the online appointment system could be improved a bit so that patients don't drive over 30 minutes away to find out the office is closed, this is a small detail for the amount of care you will get here. I suspect that it was just a minor detail that the unexpected pandemic had forced the office to close abruptly without allowing the online appointment system to catch up quickly enough.

Opportunities:
Some employees are not as polite and will try to pressure you into filling out reviews before the treatment is even done. I do not believe in this type of behavior and perhaps these employees should be retrained so that they can understand how important customer relationship management should be. Some other employees are very reserved and this may lead to some odd silences in between procedures such as X-rays or pictures. Perhaps this could be a bit of notice to those employees.

Even though there are some weaknesses as described above, they do not warrant a loss of a star from the review. Every business/organization will never be perfect, but it is up to the employees who act in the company's best interests to set an example for other employees.

I recently came in with my nephew so he could get this braces tightened. The office is so nice and newly renovated, they have tv on the ceiling and iPads to keep the kids entertained. Jolleen was the assistant helping out my nephew. She was gentle and made him feel really comfortable! They see people all ages for braces! I may consider coming for a consult myself.

This office is the place to go for perfect teeth. I got my braces done by Dr. Ikeda and I love my results! I had braces done by another orthodontist in the east coast that I didn’t finish because I was moving, but since I moved back to California I wanted to finish up my braces. I found Dr. Ikeda online, I called and set up an appointment and had a free consultation. His consultation was very thorough, I had my xrays taken and some pictures of myself and my teeth taken, so he could show me what he recommended. The staff at his office are all so friendly and are good at what they do! Jolleen was the assistant who took my photos and worked on me most, she was gentle when tightening my braces and friendly, but all the other staff is great as well. This office is very welcoming and definitely a two thumbs up!

Our experience has been very good so far planning Braces for my daughter. Ayde was very knowledgeable with financial questions and was reassuring to both my ex husband and myself as we are coparenting. She was also patient with additional questions that we had about procedures. The doctor, technician and hygentest were also friendly and patient. Looking forward to a great few years in this partnership.

Who would’ve thought I’d get braces again? After hearing such great things about Dr. Ikeda. I’ve decided to get a consultation with him and end up leaving with a 2 year commitment. Hello brace face!

So far it’s been great. The staff are friendly and efficient at this location and the placentia one. They always call/text ahead to remind you of your appointment. I can tell Dr. Ikeda is a perfectionist. He takes his time to make sure everything is perfect after the assistants work on my teeth before letting me leave my chair.

Also, Jolleen is the sweetest! She sparks me joy whenever I come in. 😬

Sweet Smiles is the best Orthodontics you can take your child to, they always explain the current and the next step to ease any anxiety for the child, they have an exceptional staff , accommodation for special needs are impressive including a private exam room entertaining waiting room, very clean and friendly in addition to the up to date dental technology ,
Our experience was with Ayde Rodarte in selecting a very reasonable Financial plan for my son's orthodontic was smooth and professional.
My son looks forward to each appointment and can't wait to have all his teeth straightened :)

Dr. Ikeda and his staff have made my braces experience as pleasant as it can be 😃. No wait times and such a friendly staff. Everyone I have interacted with has been so gentle and patient and I feel i can really trust Dr.ikeda. Hands down the best place in the area for orthodontic treatment

Ayde at Sweet smiles is the best. She's so attentive and helpful. She answers all your questions and returns your calls back promptly. The Garden Grove office is so clean and the staff is amazing. Love taking my kids to their office and they enjoy it as well!

Love this office! So nice and modern. It was recently remodeled! They have tv on the ceiling and iPads in the waiting room. I took my brother in to get his braces consult and they did a great job. Jolleen took his photos and X-rays, she talked him through everything that she was going to do. Dr. Ikeda was very thorough when explaining what he needed

I’m very happy with this service, all the staffs are helpful and nice. I feel comfortable with the staffs. Ayde is also very helpful with the finance.
Overall I’m very happy with the service and my braces. I also love how they have WiFi for the public. I can’t wait for my final result when my braces comes off! 😁

I just started my treatment here based on a referral from Jolleen Tran (she works at this office) and I don’t regret it one bit! I was very hesitant for months but she assured me that I was in great hands.

When i arrived to the office, i was greeted with warm (perfect) smiles and was taken care of by Jolleen. She took xrays of my teeth and took photos from all angles and made me feel very comfortable when I had to put metal instruments in my mouth to allow a good visual of my molars and premolars during the photo shoot. She was very assuring the entire time!

It’s only been a week since I’ve gotten my braces but I can already see the difference. Dr. Ikeda is amazing! I’m excited to see how my smile will look once the treatment is over!

I am excited to have found Dr. Ikeda and his staff. My son is a very complex case and will need braces and other devices and Dr. Ikeda is able to help him. We had other consults but was not confident they knew what they were doing. We were told to research dental schools as they did not have experience with such cases. Well , a coworker referred us to Dr Ikeda and a double win as he teaches at a well renowned school. Lucky us. Adaye R. Is amazing and appreciate her help. We have found our new dentist office and can't tell you how relieved and excited we are.

I decided to get my braces done here as an adult at the age of 25 after shopping around at over 5 different orthodontist offices.  This place was very professional and thorough with the free consultation on my first visit. In fact, they were the only office that took x-ray of my teeth (other places want me to pay to get xray). The doctor was very patient and friendly as he was addressing all of my concerns and questions. The staff was very friendly and attentive, Jolleen took care of me and even made calls to remind me to come in when I was missing my appointments. This place may cost more than other offices, but you certainly get what you pay for. You should not be cheap when it comes to your teeth.

We have been there about the last two years. We are very pleased with the service for my 12 year old daughter, Kayla. Today again we had Jame Colin to help with my daughter Kayla. They are friendly, the environment was kids friendly and clean. I will recommend to others.

Jaime is an excellent and caring individual. He is the reason why I request for both my kids. He is very and I mean very gentle. We ran into issues with others and keep ending up requesting for Jaime. We would not be coming back if it wasn’t for Jaime.

I have searched for an orthodontist for my daughter Kennedy for quite a while now and I finally found the perfect Dr. And Staff! Leslie R in Placentia office referred us over to Lollipop Pediatric Dentistry in Placentia and once we were there we realized they had another office in Garden Grove. We love Lollipop and now that we started our Orthodontic treatment we are super content and would not go to anyone else for Dental or Ortho. Their treatment coordinator Ayde Rodarte is super friendly and always has a smile on her face. Every time I need her to help me she’s always ready and makes things happen. Five thumbs up for sure! Referring to everyone I know! Also Jaime and Jodie (the Dental Assistants) are great and very informative.

I’ve been bringing my son Josh to Sweet Smiles Orthodontics for 2+ years now, I’m extremely happy with their service everyone there is very attentive specially Jaime he’s always very supportive, my son feels very comfortable with him around, he’s always explaining in detail all processes and procedures. I highly recommend them!

Went into the office and I can’t say how helpful Ayde Rodarte was. She was just amazing and just made me feel so welcome and walked me through all the details. Going to see the dentist can be scary sometimes and Ayde was just so sweet and caring. I definitely recommend this office.

I decided to go with Dr. Ikeda to get my braces for the second time and I’m not disappointed. He really pays attention to detail. And I always ask for Jolleen every month when I get my braces tightened and checked!

I come here for my braces and had Elizabeth as my assistant and she was very gentle and informative of the procedure that I was getting.
