My daughter got her hair done by Kim just in time for graduation and it came out perfect! This is the second time my daughter has done any type of color with Kim, she is just great. She takes her time she makes you feel comfortable. She has a great personality and someone that you should definitely ask for when you visit the Hair Lab.

Kim absolutely blew me away and I highly recommend her as a stylist! She is extremely knowledgeable on hair techniques, and worked wonders to fix my previously bleached, uneven, brassy hair. In addition to her skill, she was very personable, keeping me informed throughout the coloring process about what she was specifically doing to my hair and even taking extra care to not hurt my scalp (as I have long course hair that tangles easily). She is also very detail-oriented; everything from the tone to the cut was perfect and beyond my expectations. I can not thank her enough for fixing my hair and restoring my confidence. Kim is incredible at what she does, and you are guaranteed to be in good hands at The Hair Lab!

I've been going to Kim for over 6 years now and she's the only person I trust with my hair. She works with you on how you want your hair, but also gives her honest recommendations on how to achieve it. We've done a shade range of blondes, silver blue and went back to black.

I recently went from black to a balayage blonde and Kim was able to lift the light pieces even more (photos attached). Her shop is a total vibe and highly encourage to contact her if you're thinking of going lighter or wanting to try a different color.

Not all stylists are created equal, which is why I cannot recommend Kim enough. She goes above and beyond in her communication and delivers consistently outstanding cuts & color. One of the things I appreciate most is that when I describe to Kim what hairstyle I'd like and how I want it to behave, she'll make recommendations and explain how she can cut it to meet my needs. I always know that I am in good hands, and leave feeling confident and excited to have exactly the style I'd pictured. Plus she gives great advice on how to keep your plants from dying (my hibiscus are thriving!) Thank you as always, Kim.

I've been going to Kim for my hair since 2020, and she is an absolute gem to work with! She is very responsive and knowledgeable. When I first saw her, my hair was a complete mess from me coloring it myself during the pandemic, and she managed to not only fix it but made sure the color faded so nicely too! She was my go to when I colored my hair for my sister's wedding, and again when I wanted to go back to silver. My hair always felt soft and healthy after every appointment as well! I can't recommend her enough.

This is my second time going to Kim in the last year, and I plan to stay with her as long as she's styling hair!! I've had some pretty awful hair cuts in the past with uneven layers, but Kim was able to save the whole situation!! She also provided some incredibly useful tips to care for difficult growth areas and hairline issues.

As if that weren't enough, I have never received this many compliments on a haircut in my entire life. Her layers complimented my hair so well that I actually started to see real waves and curls in my otherwise naturally straight hair. It's been so exciting to see volume in my hair simply because I started styling my hair with Kim!! I would highly recommend working with Kim, it'll change your hair game!!

I have been going to Kim for about 5 years now and following her to every salon she has ever been at because she's that good!! Now that she has her own salon I couldn't be more happier for her!

The salon itself is super clean. She did an amazing job with the decor. It's super cute, classy, and chic! There's something about the vibe in there that makes you feel so comfortable!

And due to COVID they have been really good at taking all necessary precautions to keep clients/customers safe! They make sure to disinfect chairs, sanitize hands frequently to avoid cross contamination, and require all customers and stylists wear masks.

The first time I ever went to Kim, I told her what I wanted and she carefully explained the process and what she was going to do. She clarified things that I didn't understand. She is very knowledgeable and experienced and knows what she is doing. Therefore, if you have a question or concern about your hair ASK!! She was very straightforward and honest. After my first session with her, I received so many compliments on my hair. I knew I found the ONE hairstylist that I can trust.

I continue to come to Kim for all my hair needs (color and cut) and will follow her wherever she goes because she does an amazing job!

She is really good at responding and getting you an appointment as soon as possible! However, I wouldn't wait too long to contact her if you're in need of doing your hair. I'm sure she is going to start getting booked fast!

My friend recommended Kim because I've had a hard time finding the ONE... Kim is THE ONE! From the first time I went in to her and every single time there on, she's taken such great care of my hair. Kim, Gigi, and Tao are AMAZING! I had my first visit with them and I had a great time while having my hair done.

Gigi did an absolutely stunning job with my hair - i learned what getting true balayage is like and, unlike other studios, when they had down time, Kim and Tao stepped in to help out, so you get the feeling of being pampered and knowing that your hair is getting dedicated, professional treatment with amazing results.

The atmosphere is great - they're a great team who love to connect with their clients and there are plants everywhere making it a very down to earth, relaxing vibe in the salon.

The entire team take their craft very seriously, I listened to a few consultations while having my hair done and they take the time to explain color theory and the effects of color on hair.

I have been going to Kim for a few years now. I followed her from when she was renting a chair in a salon to being a boss lady owning her own new beautiful salon near the newly remodeled strip mall on beach blvd! Love the new location because after getting your hair done, you can get some good food.

What I really love about Kim, is not only is she amazing at what she does, she is honest and really cares about your hair integrity. I always love the way my hair comes out after sitting in her chair.

The salon is clean and new. What's great is they even have some drinks and snacks for clients which I'm so thankful for because at my last appointment, it was early and didn't eat breakfast before coming so it was a nice treat to curb my appetite while my hair is processing.

I have been going to Kim for 5+ years and follow her everywhere. She is AMAZING! She always executes my vision perfectly. Not only is she talented, she is also the sweetest. I try to keep my hair low maintence and she instructs me how to maintain my hair. I can go a whole 9 months before I need to redo my highlights. She does a great job blending my roots to keep my hair looking fresh. Highly recommend her and her salon!

An escape and place to renew your hair and soul! First off, Kim is a fantastic, skilled and knowledgeable stylist. She was extremely helpful in helping me find a color and cut to fit my personality and life style. For years, I had been a bleach blonde and wanted to make a change for the better, I enlisted Kim. Not only did she precisely update my hair color, she gave me a new bob style haircut. The decor and music of the salon is a welcomed escape from hectic daily life. I was referred to Kim at the Hair Lab and she is awesome! It's always hard to find a stylist that can do the perfect A-line bob, but look no further! She takes her time and definitely knows what she's doing. She's also very friendly which makes time in her chair go by fast! I’m from Tennessee and haven’t found a hairstylist the whole 2 years living in CA, UNTIL I found Kim. I took one look at her work on Instagram, booked, and haven’t looked back. I went during the middle of covid when salons opened back up, and I was so impressed by the cleanliness and professionalism of all of the stylists. Kim is straight forward with what’s realistic for your hair. She factors in skin and eye color when helping you pick a suitable color. She works diligently to create an effortless look. She worked at a pace that was a good balance of perfecting the work, while not keeping you in the chair for too long. One of her other stylists even helped blow dry my long mane so that I could enjoy my new hair sooner! I am super impressed by the outcome of Kim’s work. Not to mention she is kind and hilarious. I am already looking forward to my next appointment. Do yourself a favor, and make an appointment as soon as you can.

So I was way overdue for a haircut and dye. I was suppose to get my hair done in March before my trip to Costa Rica. But as you know Covid-19 took over our lives, I had to cancel my trip and was unable to do anything to my hair.

Fast forward, I finally had time in early July to get my hair done. I was reading some yelp reviews when I saw Kim’s name and that she previously worked at Allure Hair Salon in Fountain Valley! I had been going there for years and decided to give Hair lab a chance. I sent a message to get a quote and was promptly responded in about 30 minutes. Got an appointment set up and everything was set.

When I got to the store, their was also another person getting their hair done. We sat pretty far each other. I was at one end and the other client was in the back row at the other end. We all wore our mask during the whole process. Kim made the whole process feel really safe and comfortable.

I must say I love the color of my hair! A lot of people can cut hair but only a certain number only really know how to color hair. I will definitely be coming back again.

What a great place! Not only is the salon beautiful and clean but the service is outstanding! I had a catastrophe with me using a highlighting cream on my hair and I made a horrible mess of myself. I called and spoke to Kim and she was busy today but her colleague was available. Kim did my consultation and explained everything step by step on how to fix my mess.

Gigi was sweet and followed the steps to take to get me back to normal. It was a saving day and I walked away very satisfied.

I will be returning for sure!
