Lake Shannon Recreational Area

Loved this beautiful lake and the access to it! We sat and watched the sunset over the mountains! Only saw two other people there! Solitude! Would love to bring my kayaks there. Easy access to the vast lake!

We were lucky enough to have this place all to ourselves for about an hour on a cloudy, but warm, day! Had never been here but everything looked very new, from the picnic area, to the toilets, to the parking lot. It has plenty of tables and there is lots of space down by the water. It’s a very rocky and woody beach with the occasional hazard (random rusted railroad tracks, very interesting) but if you’re careful little ones should be okay! We paddle-boarded for a while and took our leave. Excellent scenery!

Beautiful lake!! I came for a Sunday morning paddle, and was only the second car in the lot at 9:30am. Great facilities, and easy to get to off of highway 20. I was shocked there weren’t more people enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Hidden gem! Lovely lake to spend the day. There were picnic tables/trash cans available with a large parking area (which fills up quickly, especially on hot weekends). The drive up to the lake was rocky, but still doable without a 4x4 (would not recommend for Class A RVs. Lots of boaters, jet skis, and swimmers with floats on a hot day. A truly beautiful blue lake. "No overnight" parking signs are displayed.

Beautiful lake. Very clear water and clean restrooms. Long gravel road so plan to pay for a car wash soon.

This is such a beautiful spot. I love to go canoeing here. They have a wonderful little picnic area that you can have barbecues and enjoy the gorgeous weather

A beautiful place! We stopped on our way back from North Cascades. We ate our lunch at the picnic tables, used the bathrooms which were very clean, and waded in the water. The mountains covered in snow was the perfect touch!

It’s a single lane dirt road to get here, but the lake gives great views of Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuk.

If you’re trying to see Devil’s Tower, it’s down a private road with trespassing signage posted.

I've driven by Concrete all my life & never knew about this lake! It's beautiful & definitely worth checking out.

Nature at its best ! The mountains lakes clouds sunshine - went up the narrow primitive road - ended up with one of the best views !

Beautiful lake, I don't usually like many lakes because they're dirty, but this one is beautiful the water is clear and blue, and the beaches are nice, the views are gorgeous.

Really nice secluded place.
Lots of picnic tables and barbecues.
They have restrooms but you should bring your own toilet paper just in case.

Lovely lake that is off the beaten path. The water level was much higher than last year when we were here.

Fantastic views. Great place to inner tube or wake board! When the lake is at its fullest stumps are very rare. A great place to see the stars and watch meteor showers.

Such a beautiful peaceful place. Love how quiet it is. Just you and nature. You have to go at least once in your life. Just a short drive off highway 20. You can stop along the way and see the dams.

Gorgeous, so peaceful! It will be even better when we're done building the recreational facilities and trails.

So BEAUTIFUL and peaceful and very well maintained. This area is the stuff PNW is most admired for!
