As a veteran who had to report for emergency healthcare while not having any idea what to expect (I’ve never used a VA health facility prior to Loma Linda), I can say I am thrilled by the quality of the service. The procedure happened without a hitch, hospital staff were friendly and attentive to me and my wife, and the environment was clean and serene. I am aware VA experience is subjective for different patients, but mine was perfect, really. Thank you!

I have been getting my care at the VA, specifically at Loma Linda hospital and the clinic in Palm Desert since 2011. This includes multiple surgeries.
So much better than anything I experienced on the private side which is where I was from 1974.
This government and the VA takes excellent care of it's veterans.
Just one vets opinion.

Huge VA hospital. I had to get a ride from a guy on a golf course from the front of the vA to the handicapped parking lot!

My husband was in crisis. He was heading towards a psychic break with his bipolar disorder. The VA Loma Linda was very thorough with his care.
The people who helped tremendously were Araceli Rodriguez MSW PCMHI Social worker, Dr. Gupta- Primary medicine and Doctor Omura- walk in Psychiatry.
They all listened intently, came up with a game plan, treated him with compassion, kindness and respect.
I would greatly appreciate it if you let them know that they were positively amazing in their handling of him.
I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.
Michael now has peace of mind for the first time in years.
Thank you to these amazing medical professionals. Thank God for the VA.
Have a Blessed day.

Update on 8-25-22. Had a great visit with a new doc, got 4th Covid shot, got pills, great screeners at the clinic, and all around great experience. Plus great facilities. Okay, that should be enough greats - things are definitely getting better. Hooraah, Theo.

Pharmacy is problematic. Every time I've attempted to get a prescription filled the clerks have tried to repudiate it. They don't seem to understand that the need for the medication is legitimate, it has been discussed with my doctor and we are 100% convinced that it is appropriate. So, why should a clerk attempt to prevent its distribution ? None of them are doctors. They don't have the knowledge or authority to intervene in this regard. Rather, let them work harder at fulfillment and getting you out the door. A boost in competency is required, not more hectoring.

This VA facility has constantly been kind, professional and helpful. We have been coming here for years. Today we are at the eye clinic. It is bright and clean. Regardless of which department we go to, we find the Loma Linda VA facility to be reassuring. The teams are respectful and kind while giving excellent care. We feel confident in our care. There are long waits.

My father was a career VA psychiatrist at the Palo Alto, Ca VA Hospital. I am a retired Professor of System's Analysis and Organizational Operations, both in Callifornia and Germany. I have Agent Orange cancer from Vietnam, where I served my tour as an Artillery officer , and Reconnaissance 0fficer for various intelligence gathering units within the 3rd Marine Division and Pentagon. I am totally satisfied. I have been driven three hours each way into Los Angeles, dealing with hearing loss as the result of my military assignments. I retain a bad right hip from being shot down while landing. I have a Navy Cross, second highest US combat medal.

I went to Emergency Department very early in the morning on this Wednesday around 0200am. Before leaving, I started by calling the VA nurse line and she recommended ED visit for left foot pain I was experiencing. When I arrived, a nurse by the entrance immediately provided assistance with a wheelchair and continued on assisting me until I was transfered inside the Emergency room. The ED nurses there was very friendly, responsive, and quick to get the patient into the bed. They also keep coming to check on me and provided updates, remote for TV, and blankets until I was seen by a physician. The physician also was very friendly and incredibly nice. He would come check on me and ensuring that I am properly cared for while he waits for my blood work and xray result. I spent approximately 4 hours there and assisted until I got back on my car which is quite of a distance from the exit door. The room is clean and they have wonderful nurses who always comes to check rather than avoiding the patient. This is my first experience in VA emergency care, but I honestly impressed. It was better than I thought. Also better compare to my Cedar Sinai or Kaiser ED experience.

This review is for the Audiology department. One of my hearing aids stopped working, so I went to the walk in clinic on Friday morning and they saw me very quickly and fixed my hearing aid! They are great as always, so thank you for that!

Mantra: Homeless Veteran Program
“Leaves no Soldier behind!” The Valor Building Staff more than imaginably met my need. Against all odds during this COVID reconstruction period ...They helped me get an EMERGENCY HOTEL VOUCHER. Until my HUD-Vash Section 8 voucher is approved... helping my puppy & I relocate & with their partners help, accommodated us in a Best Western in the mean time. 1st & foremost; Thank you for your service.” They provide care & concern Case Managers. I appreciate People like Mr. Damon Bradley... As most good things should, I was afforded to TAKE TIME TO GET MY PROGRAM GOING. Like from friends and family, I even had tremendous help getting and keeping my documentation, orientation and acclamation together at a time whenever my mental health
situations/problems lack the Valor to improve. Thankfully; And yeah I agree, “That's not a lot of time to wait considering them making me feel worthy in giving. I’ll have a little equity to hopefully be decently set up with food, clothing, a bed and shelter for the rest of my life or when needed.” Now what???

Building 32 Valor Staff!!!
Thank you for your service,
“Leaving No Soldier behind!

Excellent care service very speedy, professional staff I can be given my gravity and situation. The only thing I can say to be very understanding given that these doctors and medical staff are under pressure to get everybody seen However, if for some reason you don’t like the service here feel free to go to Kaiser when was the week times are 4-5 hours, even then he still had to show your insurance card and play the insurance game on what’s covered or not, then out of pocket cost! VA Loma Linda Hospital healthcare is the best by far.

at a time when the emergency room was full, ernest benton personally drew my blood so that it could be sent to the lab. he was friendly, helpful, and extremely professional and proficient. without his help that day, i would have had to leave with my very low sodium situation undiagnosed.
veterans sometimes seem to have so many complaints. on november 1, 2022, i had nothing but admiration for how i was treated.

please thank ernest for HIS service.

all the best,

As a combat disabled Veteran, I’ve been at Loma Linda since 2004. I and many of my fellow Veteran’s have received the very best care, better that Tri-Care! To the Veterans that complain, go pay for private healthcare (that shut you up). At 60 and we’ll educated, yes, I’m very qualified to post this. Man up and stop bi…. !

I have been coming to this hospital and it's other facility on Redlands Blvd for 9 years and I used to have many issues with the way I was treated by the staff, they were not experienced with the specific problems that veterans deal with on a daily basis. I felt like nothing but a number with a case file attached. The process of making appointments was terrible, you were constantly being switched from one doctor to another and would have to go through the painful process of explaining your entire case history to each new doctor. I was often exhausted just trying to talk to the employees who run each sections scheduling. I often was treated as if everything was my fault, no one went out of the way to reach out and help us. I was given false information to doctors numbers, appointments were often cancelled the day of, just as I finished my 4 hour bus ride to the facility. Much has changed over the recent years, many of the people who work directly with the veterans are themselves veterans or a spouse or family member of a veteran. The doctors remain on your cases much longer and seem like they are well versed on my issues before I arrive. I am in the STAR program (Substance Treatment And Recovery) and have assigned case managers that are in contact with every other assigned treatment facilitator, so that all of my needs were talked about in a group and specific treatment plans for each patient were designed and put into action. I feel in this program there is such care for our individual needs that I sometimes forget that this is the same place I started out coming to 9 years ago. Veterans are treated with respect and are all viewed as Honorable people who served our country and now this facility is attempting to restore the ethics and service that all Veterans Hospitals should be doing. I thank as many of the doctors, nurses, residents and volunteers as I possibly can because they are now serving the country by making us feel as if we were at home being treated as family. So if you are a veteran in need of care this hospital and it's outpatient clinics are definitely a place you will feel welcome and recieve the best possible care for all your veteran specific issues.

Got my Colonoscopy and it went well. So easy. I didn't have to be put to sleep. I was able to watch the procedure. The staff and doctor were very thorough. Covered everything prior to procedure. No pain other than the IV. They did an EKG too. Very professional. Girl power to the team!

Emergency Room Review: Every emergency room has waits, unless you are severely ill, so I expected to wait. However, the staff was outstanding. Though my medical issue wasn't resolved, they did multiple tests and were extremely thorough. I already had an appointment with a specialist at a later time, so after ruling out most serious possible conditions, I was comfortable that they referred me to the specialist for resolution.
NOTE: These wonderful professionals have been working in horrible conditions for over 2 years, waiting for the emergency room to be remodeled. Even in these conditions, they still did an outstanding job and I am very grateful.
