Loyalton Rotary Park

Nice walking trail. Make sure you have the right kind of shoes. There are rocks along the way. There are bathrooms, idk if they are lock all the time or not.. A very nice picnic area with grills. Dog friendly also

Next to a stream to wade in, tables to eat, stage for a band, bathroom 🚻. First year back (covid) Loyalton Rotary 4th of July celebration returned to park. Vendors, silent auction, live auction, downtown parade and awesome BBQ lunch meal. Fun. Kud fun, dog fun, picnic area.

The Loyalton Rotary Park is also the trailhead for the Boca Loyalton Railroad Trail, a historic hiking railroad trail. The Boca and Loyalton Railroad ran this route from 1901 to 1915. The trail runs north back towards Loyalton past an amazing beaver pond and wetland area and south towards Truckee. Both directions are worth exploring year round and parking is safe and free!

To travel north and see the beaver pond look for the blue "Trail" marker on a picnic bench on the edge of the park. The pond is ever-expanding so sections may be flooded but you can go off-trail and get there.

To travel south towards Truckee look for the wood foot bridge behind the restrooms.

Great trail, but little to no shade. Hiking would be better with less heat.

We have stopped here a couple times and had picnics. The atmosphere is definitely small-town quaint. And everybody in this town stops and says hi even knowing that you're not a local it is pretty cool.

Very quiet very clean but not frequently used often so lots and lots of animal poop spiders and dust. Not complaining. I cant wait to go again
