Golden West Dining Restaurant & Motel

Road closures got us to this hidden gem. Tom and his wife opened their doors after hours to rest up and wet our whistles, treated us as if we were family when we got diverted and stayed in town. The Saloon is very clean. You can tell he takes pride in being the owner. He was very knowledgeable about the area with lots of great recommendations. Original gold rush tavern with cold beer, good liquor, the best hospitality. I will for sure be back to Loyalton just for... THE Golden West Saloon!

Had a great breakfast the blue hair waitress was as cool as a cucumber under the pressure we brought had fun and lots of laughs. The only thing is they need to step that breakfast gravy up a bit and load it with sausage.

Best place I've ever been! Everyone is so nice and they go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. If they don't have it, they go get it! Super outstanding place. The rooms are super clean, spacious, and have an old time feel.. Beds are so comfortable. A/c works amazingly. Atmosphere is very down home and make you feel like family. I've never experienced better customer service.

Best Western cheeseburger on the west, hands down. Waitress is super super kind. Big menu. Everything we had was amazing. It's well over an hour drive for me but I absolutely will make the trip just to eat here. A total gem

Plan your dining experience. No dinner until 5pm. Had th Western Bacon Burger. Took 1/2 home. Delicious! The Beer Battered Fries are yummy! Service is friendly.

Great gourmet food, friendly staff, a game room for the kids. I loved the motel. Comfortable beds (not something you find everywhere). A real old west atmosphere in a real old west building with modern upgrades, including handicaped accessable. I will definitely be staying again and I recommend to everyone. Thank you to all for making my family feel welcomed ❤

The bar tender was a total goofball, I loved her! My husband and I chatted with her while playing a few games of pool and enjoyed some super greasy, delicious chili cheese fries and strong cocktails, it made for a lovely afternoon

Stopped in for lunch. A real treat! We will return and bring friends. I'm old school, so the hot roast beef San and fries were a just fantastic. Great food, reasonable prices, what a wonderful place far from home.

This is the place for good old fashioned comfort food and grass fed beef. They are
daily specials and a weekend brunch. The staff is friendly and helpful the chef is often amazing and really good the rest of the time. There is a full bar and a pool table and always a friendly atmosphere.

There is no bias reflected in the picture of the burger I posted. Unlike those drive through places, Chef Austin cooks a mouth and eyeful for all comers. Just an ordinary guy that came up for a Mother's Day weekend dinner and rock and roll dance.
Lots of fun, a friendly staff and even the room was a bargain.
We didn't need a designated driver...

Great food, locally owned and locally sourced. The motel room we stayed in was spacious enough for the 2 of us with 2 queen beds and even though a little outdated according to modern standards, still very charming. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Great pizza, burger and location. I have had burgers all over the U.S. and hands-down these are the best burgers anywhere. I know people will think Downieville???? But you have to come here and see for yourself. This is a true 5 star buger and pizza stop. Highly recommended.

It is worth the drive to Loyalton if you can get their prime rib dinner. It's only available certain nights so check in beforehand. A nice baked potato and soup or salad bar comes with it. Everything runs at a small town pace but the servers couldn't be friendlier.

This place is fantastic with the "Old West" atmosphere. Fun bar with great staff. Chef EJ is amazing! They are also a hotel with very reasonable prices..

Great service. Clean rooms. Staff even runs errands will we are working the wild fire. Washes our clothes. Haven't had a chance to try the food as we get off late every night. For the price it can't be beat. Thanks Suzi for your help!

I was born and raised here...I don't live there no more but I can still remember what it was like...still my favorite spot ever...my mom used to work there too...my hometown...I miss it...food is awesome...!

Love the pizza and the pool tables. Tami and Brooke are the best. Great vibes and great food.
