Love this place cause its one of the only good consignment stores in the lower mainland. However, I wish they'd open a second location closer to Vancouver or Surrey. This location is too far for me.

I have been delighted with Plato's Closet since it opened. Reasonable prices and fair pricing. I wanted to commend the staff team that was employed last Saturday ....the store was inundated yet several staff members exceeded my expectations of exemplary customer service and deserve recognition for being assets to their employ..their names are : Riley, Jamie, Liv and Kim....hard-working, professional, proactive and amazing. Thanks guys for making my visit special!

Great place for adult and teen used clothing. Staff and nice as well. Drop off your used clothes and get some money for them.

The staff here are so great! I must have tried on 100 things, and they had to deal with the aftermath. They were so cheerful and helpful and friendly, and all of them were working hard at various tasks the whole time we were there (over 3 hours😅). They were kind to my daughter, and polite to all the other customers. The clothing selection was significant, almost overwhelming, and the quality was fantastic relative to the prices. I’ll be back!

I was looking for a place to donate my clothes and found this store that would actually pay for used clothes. I read some one star reviews and saw that people are complaining getting a few dollars for their clothes. One lady even expected to get 40% of what she paid. So, if she bought a jacket for $100, she wanted Plato to pay her $40! It’s a used jacket! Plato probably can’t even sell it for $40. It’s a business, not a charity. Plato has overhead and staffing. Most places take your old clothes for free. So if you want to sell your clothes for more than a nickel on a dollar, do it yourself on social media or open your store. Don’t give a business one star just because you can’t do math. I do not know the owner, and have not been to the store, but thank you for bringing this concept to Abbotsford.

This was my first time selling clothes to a store. Platos was recommended to me by a friend and from the sounds of it sounded like a very charitable place. I brought in a box of clothes and they were able to take what they could and explained the process to me. Even for a small bit of money it was nice that they were able to use some of the items. The women were super friendly and pricing was fair. It’s for a good cause. Thank you to the staff there for making my first time there pleasant :)

It’s frustrating to see so many negative reviews because the reviewers were obviously offended by PC not taking their clothes. They choose clothing to buy based off of style, quality, and also how much of that item they already have in stock. Just because they passed on some items that you liked, doesn’t mean they dislike you or are rude. It’s business. I’m thankful if they take just one item because that’s a couple bucks in my pocket… before PC came I didn’t have the opportunity to make some extra coffee money and would just take it to the thrift store where I didn’t get any $ for it. So now I get a bit of cash and donate the rest. Everyone should just be thankful and not take it all so personally…

Staff are FRIENDLY and KIND! Clean store, tons of various sizes and styles to select from! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This was my third time taking items to Plato’s Closet in Abbotsford and the best experience yet. Not only were the staff members friendly and professional, they were also kind to help me lift/carry my bags of clothes to and from my vehicle, as I am unable to lift heavy items due to a recent surgery I had. Very sweet and much appreciated! Thanks ladies. ❤

I’ll definitely be back and hope others in the local community will consider giving their new and/or gently used clothing items a chance to live their best “second life” at Plato’s in Abby!

Best thrifting store I have EVER been too! I'm from Saskatchewan, and I make sure to add this amazing store to my list of musts whenever I am in Abby!

Came in here last week, for the first time, and had a great experience. All the ladies were very friendly, and the store had a great selection of clothes at amazing prices. While the store targets "teens", I found that the styles they carry do cater to a wider demographic than just that. I also found the store to be very well organized. Have already recommended this store to multiple friends! Will definitely be back!

recommend checking this place out if you have clothes to get rid of, or if you’re looking for a good deal. i previously had an issue in store with credits but the manager reached out to me and was able to fix everything. very helpful team!

This place is so great! You can find some really good deals and it feels much more sustainable than buying (expensive) clothes from stores. Overall a really good option for those wanting to shop sustainably and save/earn some money.

I notice a lot of people giving 1 star only because the store didn’t purchase their clothes… that’s a bit unfair. If they don’t think they can profit off of your clothes (and I’m sure they know their market better than anyone), they won’t buy it. I think people are overestimating how much you can sell secondhand clothes for on FB marketplace 😂. Those saying they’d rather donate to value village than get $1.50 for it may not realize that value village is a business, not a charity. So either way, your clothing is getting sold for a profit but at least this way you got $1.50!

Review edit/update: I recently tried again Platos again and had a wonderful experience. The deals were fantastic, clothes were fairly and acurately priced and the staff was cheery all around. A huge improvement from my previous experience. I will continue to donate here and shop here!

The staff need customer service training.

I have found so many great things at Plato's, and at amazing prices. Lots of people get offended if they don't accept your clothes, but it's just business at the end of the day, it's not personal. Happy to have this option in Abbotsford.

I live about an hour's drive to Plato's Closet, but knew I'd be in the area and so set aside a bin of clothing to see how the process works and to maybe pick up a few items. It was well worth the trip! The staff were clear in communicating the process, and although they couldn't give me a set time, they let me know where I was in line and that they would call me when my bin was reviewed. While my family was looking through the racks - one of the staff found me and let me know they were almost done! By this time my difficult to buy for son had five items picked out. They kept about half the clothing, and they gave me a credit that more than covered the cost of the 'new' items. Definitely worth the visit - and extra bonus if you have items to sell. Do go and shop there - I love the concept and hope this store has much success.

Over a year ago, I had had of Plato's Closet for the first time and wished that there was a store close to home. A couple months later and I was absolutely delighted to hear that one had opened up here in Abbotsford. For those who aren't aware, this store is has only been open just shy of one year. Every time I walk in I get greeted by smiling staff members and it's almost always super busy with people scouting out the perfect deal. If you ever see me, I'd most likely be wearing at least one piece from Plato's and always receive compliments. I happily smile to myself knowing that an outfit that looks well over $100 is actually $25. I have been lucky enough to work/chat with Sara, the owner, numerous times and it makes me pleased to know that this store is owned by such a lovely lady and her family too lives locally. There have been worries about clothes that aren't always in tip-top shape, however it needs to be realized that there are masses of clothes that get brought in and the employees can only do their best to sort through everything. So yes, you can go to big corporate stores to buy new items that are overpriced, however for just a little more time and effort, you can look through Plato's to find brand new or slightly used pieces that you can easily wear to any of the fashion weeks. Knowing that not only did you score an unbelievable deal, but the people behind the scenes are amazing and truly care about their customers.

Just took a bunch of gently used/NWT clothes/shoes here, service was friendly and very quick. My friend and I both had a Rubbermaid each of stuff and walked away with around $65 each. Not bad at all! Would definitely come back to sell and shop! I called ahead to inquire about what they were looking for and asked about the process. The girl was very informative and helpful. If you’re looking to “make money back” on items you won’t get it here, they buy mid-range brands at best and you’ll only get a few bucks for it, so if you’re trying to get a decent amount of $$ back for things you’re better off to sell on Marketplace or Poshmark. Definitely worth the trip out to Abbotsford!
