Hood's BBQ

There was a wait, but it was brief, and the service was wonderful. Three of us shared the "Picnic" which included chicken, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, and brisket, along with warm cornbread and four sides. We got 2 cheesy potatoes (Yum!!) onion petals, and green beans. All was delicious, but my favorites were the ribs and chicken. Tender and flavorful. We ate past being full and still had a ton left to take home, and it cost us each $20. How can you beat that?

Hood's was a great destination. Group of 9 adults coming from MD and NY went after a few hours of waking through Longwood Gardens Christmas. After looking around on the web for restaurants somewhat local to the Gardens, we found Hood's BBQ. Their online presence seemed like they would have value priced American fare, with nice photos, and great reviews. We were VERY pleased all around!

The parking was ample and convenient, the decor bright and pleasing, and the service was extremely friendly, funny, welcoming, and fast. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything from appetizers/salads, sides, and entrees were fresh, homemade, and top notch!

I think the Honey Fried Chicken and Brisket were the two most common orders in our group and we loved every bite! Their homemade BBQ sauce was the best I'd ever had, so I made sure to buy a bottle. Mmmm

If you're in the area... wait, scratch that. MAKE PLANS to be in the area, even if only to make Hood's BBQ your destination. You will NOT be disappointed!

Love the decor inside. Wish I had better pics to show. It got very busy and I didn't see many servers (in their defense my back was to them) so we did wait a long time to have are order taken and to then be told we have to get our own drinks at the bar. Our server was very helpful in menu decisions and once the food order was in, it did come out timely. The food was delicious!!! I love the mushroom soup. I could have taken a gallon home. The platter was so yummy. Good portion size, not to little, not too much. I so wanted to try their pumpkin dessert but sadly I couldn't fit it in my stomach no matter how much I wanted to 😄. Guess a good reason to go back!

Food is really good as well as the service, prices are decent for the food you get.

Love Hood's! The food is always outstanding here. Last time I went I got a Chesco Chicken sandwich, it was so juicy and crispy. The sauce was perfect, and it was so big I had to cut it to fit it in my mouth! The homemade chips are always a favorite. My son had a classic cheese burger, which he devoured. The staff is always smiling and quick to take care of anything you need. I didn't even have to ask for a refill on my water (I drink a LOT of water), the cup was noticed and replaced. Always a favorite spot to eat!

Never had a bad meal or experience with dine in or take out at Hoods! Their food is always delicious and the service has always been great. Love the small town, cozy but updated atmosphere inside. A must try!

The brisket tacos were phenomenal. Staff is super friendly as well. Can't wait to go back.

Sat at the bar which is a separate entity and therefore a separate check but I'm fine with it. I ordered a Levante brewing cloudy and Cumbersome IPA and for food ordered the hoodie, a pulled pork sandwich with slaw cheese and their own homemade sauce on a bun and sweet potato fries with maple syrup to dip and a Cobb salad. There was plenty of food and I took home keftovers. All of my food was perfect and I cannot wait to visit again to sample more of the menu. This was my first visit....

I visited for the 1st time last night and was pleasantly surprised when the food arrived. The food is the best BBQ I have had in a sit down restaurant by far. The Hoodie sandwich was packed with flavor, the Mac and cheese was smoky and delicious and the smoked sausage was absolutely amazing. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable and great decorations.
I will definitely be returning for mor BBQ.

Terrific food that was perfectly prepared & served. We got the large bbq platter & lots of delicious sides. Can't wait to return!

I don’t know a lot about most things, but i do know bbq. I spent time around back today with Larry, the owner and pit-master; Larry’s attention to detail along with his knowledge and passion for the bbq he smokes is impressive.

When I sat down to eat, it was all confirmed. This is by far the best bbq I’ve had in the state of PA. His ribs would be great in TN or NC. They’re just incredibly tasty. Perfect amount of clean smoke; and the bark and homemade sauce compliment one another as well as any I’ve tasted.

I will drive an hour to come here more often.

My son and his family took me here for my Birthday. Everything was delicious and the wait wasn't long at all for being very busy on a Wednesday night. It was my first time here and won't be the last!

I'm a huge fan of this place. Very friendly staff. The owners come out and talk to you and tell you about local attractions. Food was excellent and portions are generous. Pleanty of options for kids too. Pleanty of drink options alcoholic and non alcoholic. Decore was very nice

We've heard good things from family about this place and they were spot on. EPIC grub and fun atmosphere. We had the corn ribz for appetizer and burnt ends for main. Super good cornbread and yummy sides.

Everything was exceptional. Prices are in line with BBQ. Servings are perfect. Service and atmosphere were also excellent. Can't wait to go back.

10/10 experience top to bottom. This was probably our 1.5 y.o. daughter's favorite meal of all time, so there's a win right off the bat. All the food was incredible. Our server Lucie was timely and attentive. Bottom line: great value beat only be exceptional quality and service.

Cozy and beautiful establishment. Our meals were delicious. The wait staff were courteous, knowledgeable and super friendly.

They definitely care about what they serve and about their customers. You have to try Hood's BBQ for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Fun gem of a restaurant that you have probably driven past 5000 times. BBQ is great... Try the brisket. The bar is technically a different restaurant. But give it a try. The ciders aren't too sweet. Limited parking behind the restaurant but easy to park at the baseball field across the 2 lane street. Great vibe. Give it a try, especially if your middle name is "carnivore".

Some of the best BBQ we've ever had! Every time we are in the area, we have dinner here. Surpasses our expectations every time both in service and in the food quality!

Great place! Amazing atmosphere and even better food. 10/10 would recommend.
