This 94 foot waterfall, named for “water on the mountain,” is something else- the tallest of all the falls in Ricketts Glen. If you start in the highland trail and loop around the far side past Ricketts falls and down to the three below the loop, and then ascend the second leg of the loop, it kind of helps build the excitement for Ganoga. My kids’ are pretty fast and busy, but by the time they made it to that last stairway up along the right side of Ganoga, it made them feel like they had almost made a summit (same idea, a building up of anticipation)- I would definitely want to do it that way and not start the descent on that side. The magical mist was perfect today blowing off the power of cascading water; we had started to build up some sweat abs as we descended to the pools of Ganoga, the breeze and most cooled us of frantically and welcomingly. I would caution potential hikers on slippery rocks, inclines, and stamina for the trail- if you take it slow I think it is very doable but it is remote…I started to receive satellite reception next to Ganoga and lost it by the time we reached the top, so, as a mom with four I was a little anxious of the proximity of edges and wet rocks and communication issues should needs arise- not to deter anyone but to think before you start- good shoes, water and first aid kits☺ beautiful experience - I would definitely go in spring and not wait for summer conditions - the water benefits from winter runoff providing a more robust waterfall in comparison to July-august weather conditions-part of the Ricketts Glen State Park waterfalls…our family has paid dozens of admission fees to see waterfalls that, after walking this loop seem like kiddy pools after swimming the English Channel….start here if you live on the East Coast for waterfall exploration-PA State Parks have no admission so all can enjoy❤

We didn’t know how much trail is covered in ice but risked to go get to Ganoga Waterfall! It was much worth it! We were the only people on that trail. The waterfall is stunning! Frozen bushes add to the scenery! Love it

My hubby and I went there as part of our honeymoon. We were hiking for about 5 hours. Is around 22 amazing falls. I don't recommend for elderly if you are going to do the whole trail. Or really little kids. To get to some of the falls can be intricate

It's a 90 ft waterfall, beautiful to look at. Along the way you will see 10+ waterfalls. Each of them are beautiful in their own way. The trail is not so difficult, you can take your time and slowly hike. I went on a Saturday Oct 21, there were many people hiking that day.

Heavily trafficked and well marked trail. Plenty of parking at the lots. I recommend getting there early to avoid the crowds.

Hiking in from Lake Rose parking is shorter than coming up from Hwy 118. But the stairs are a killer.

Stunning. Easier to approach from the south, as the climb down is more awkward or difficult for many people. And consider bringing a walking stick or hiking poles.

One of my top rated trails!! The trails are steep and can be slick.

Pretty cool waterfall and easily accessible from Lake Rose parking lot. Saw lots of kids were playing under the waterfall and it is very safe.

Wow! So no phone signal there just btw so plan/gps accordingly but wow so much water/waterfalls/awesome. I cannot believe this park is free!! Park at Lake Rose lot and maybe like 1/2 mile in is the falls. I didn’t go to the bottom of the falls bc of my little dog and my bad knee and the trail gets steep at the top. Enjoy!

Well take the difficult path you'll see water falls, you can rest as you go, if your are one of the person that has more to love ❤ in the body 😉 get a hiking stick or find a wood stick in you way, you'll need it, I got my heart beating soo fast and felt like running out of breath but I continue slowly 🐌 and taking breaks them again them I felt my heart getting used too them is just I push my limits breathing from noise exhale from the mouth...if I did it you can do it is a beautiful hiking.
