Cottage in the Woods B&B

What a relaxing trip to hike in Ricketts Glen. We enjoyed meeting our host, breakfast and spending time around the outdoor fire. Just like being at home! Thank you so much.

We highly recommend Cottage In The Woods. The owners Claytonna and Dave were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Everything is clean and cozy. Claytonna made a delicious breakfast. The fruit cups were great, Dave.
We definitely plan on going back.
Can’t wait to see all of their ideas come to life.

I highly recommend this B&B. Location is perfect, only a few minutes from Ricketts Glenn, very easy to get to, yet private. There is the main cottage, very cozy atmosphere, inside and out, with beautiful perennials blooming everywhere, along with a treehouse Airbnb! So cool and creative. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, from amazing breakfasts every morning to sitting by a cozy outside fire every evening. They treat you like family.

Home away from home. Hostess is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. Cozy, rustic farmhouse decor. Shared breakfast area but Claytona gets your breakfast ready at the time that works for you. Would definitely come back. It's just 5 minutes from Ricketts glen lower parking lot and 15 mins from Rose lot.
They have a super friendly weiner dog and a cozy fireplace outdoors that they fire up for guests.

The owner, Clayton, was very pleasant and friendly. We stayed in the Humingbird suite which was extremely comfortable and nice. Breakfast was great and the property was well kept. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

Spent a fabulous weekend with 5 of my dearest friends. It was such a beautiful cabin, spacious and very welcoming. Claytonna is a wonderful hostess, breakfasts were scrumptious, and loved the campfire (thanks, Dave). We've booked next years trip already!

This Cottage in the Wood, is a beautiful, cozy, rustic and relaxing B&B was the perfect little getaway nicely tucked away mountain Gem. The hosts were wonderful and the property was secluded and beautiful. It was my first bed and breakfast and I was hesitant as I always stayed in hotels and was used to the layout. But the property owners made us feel right at home.

We stayed there Feb 15 and it was one of the most pleasant, relaxing BnB's we've stayed at. Almost don't want to share because I want there to be a vacancy when I want to go back..lol !! but we want them to be 100% successful in this little cozy and elegant country setting ! we'll be back and the hosts were WONDERFUL ! Great location, wonderful hosts.

Lovely place, the owners are super nice people. They set up a fireplace for us on a back porch to relax after a long day hiking. Very convenient to Ricketts Glen. My only complaint (minor) is that the bed was way too soft.

The Owl’s Nest was a cool place to say we stayed and may have been better as a camp getaway style place rather than a comfort place. Very disappointed in the lack of working or missing ammenities for the $350 spent for 1 night here. Internet did not work at all and we did not touch it as per the note left, theres no cell service so internet missing is a huge issue. The “kitchen” had no where to cook other than a microwave which is fine and expected from the pics but we could not find a pot or pan anywhere as mentioned in the airbnb listing. We were looking forward to cooking breakfast on the firepit or grill but we couldnt do that either. Then the toilet stopped filling water in the tank after 1 flush and we couldnt use it anymore.

Overall this is not a comfort focused stay but more of a rough it glamping style place which has its own charm to it. Just temper your expectations and bring your own supplies if you really want a romantic getaway. Get it at a cheaper price because for $350 the value wasnt there for us
