Summit Trail Rides

Beautiful location and friendly instructors. I had a great time on their trail ride it was a fun experience. All the horses look in healthy and in happy conditions, my horse Romeo was very cooperative with me as a beginner. I cannot wait to go back!

My husband and daughter went for a one hour ride today for her 13th Birthday. The guide was excellent, authentic, knowledgeable and kind. The horses were sweet and well cared for. We would highly recommend!

We really enjoyed the experience. On Mother's Day, I, and my 2 daughters, and 17 year old granddaughter went on a grand horseback ride, going up the hillside, then down. The horses were very experienced. The owners took great care of us.

We had a fun time. A great family busy. I loved how far out it is. You are definitely one with nature. Highly recommended!

Happy horses and a beautiful ride in the snowy Susquehannock State Forest! Our horses Cinch and Gunner did a great job, and the communication to set things up was so easy and helpful (but book ahead in busy seasons). Can't wait to get back for the half day ride!

I cannot say enough about our experience Summit Trail Rides on 11/6. Gunner and Bug, our horses, were AMAZING. This isn't a run of the mill commercial ride, where you follow a well worn path nose to tail. You are in the peace and tranquility of the forest, and our guide (I'm sorry, I can't remember her name, I was focused on the view!) was great. She gave us great insight on the horses and the area, but never took away from our experience. Plain and simple, an amazing, fun experience. The horses are well loved, and it shows, and when you leave, you feel like you have experienced something special. We will be back for the half day ride! Thank you to Summit Trail Rides for a truly special experience.

PS - For the one star review stating horses are bad for the local area....OH PLEASE. Snow Machines, ATVs etc are far worse than a little all natural manure!!!!

Had an amazing time on our ride.

The greeting committee of cats at the barn was an added bonus.

Brought 3 kids and rode with a group for 1.5 hours. They were absolutely wonderful with one of ours (12 y old) who was nervous about riding! Kept her on a lead and talked to her the whole time to put her at ease. Price is fair, horses are well trained, staff is experienced and very kind. It was our second time this year and we’ll be coming back next time we’re up this way!

Highly recommend. Staff was wonderful with us beginner adults and our children. We did the 2 hr and ended up being a little longer because of a downed tree. They helped us off course and did an amazing job at it. We will be returning when we return to the area!

My husband and I loved our horseback riding trail ride here. Sam and Haley were great guides and made the ride even more enjoyable. All of the staff were super friendly. We can't wait to come back.

Was a great experience, friendly staff well mannered horses. I would recommend going.

My husband and I have never ridden horses before, let alone, went on a trail ride on horses! This experience was 10/10. Perfect for first timers. Keelan, Barb, and Becky were beyond helpful and taught us everything we had to know before we hit the trails. Barb lead us up the trail on her horse, while Keelan stayed behind the pack to make sure everything was going smoothly on her horse. The horses they let us ride were already so used to the environment and trail that they knew exactly what to do. The staff were all so patient with us. I didn’t want the horseback ride to end! Would definitely visit again in the summer, if I can. I’m sure the views are a million times better than the beautiful views we had in the early spring!!!

Amazing trail with Beautiful scenery. Enjoy alot of activities including horsback riding. The Horses at the stable were so Beautiful!

Absolutely amazing! Can not say enough amazing things! My boys (8&7) have never been face to face with a horse! They made the boys feel so comfortable and relaxed! By the time we left my boys were asking to take lessons in our home town. We will definitely be back!

This is a VERY wonderful experience. The horses are amazing and well behaved but still show their different personalities and are VERY well trained. Both of the lovely ladies that took us around for the beautiful woodsy ride were very sweet and outgoing and educational!! 10 out of 10 would recommend! Done be stupid and unprepared. Wear sneakers or boots and pants. You're not going out to dinner, your riding massive animals in the woods. And last but not least BRING BUG SPRAY!!!!! It is a beautiful experience that can open you up to things you didn't know you loved. Try it FOR SURE!!!

I can not say enough positive things about our trail riding experience. Making an online reservation was very simple and quick. I was able to reserve my spot within minutes! The prices were extremely reasonable, especially for the hospitality and experiences we had. The second we arrived, we were welcomed in like family. We had a great 10-15 minute lesson which was put into simple instructions for any level of rider to start. We each were placed with a horse which seemed to match our personalities and skill levels perfectly. The trails were beautiful and well maintained. Our hosts made a point to get to know us each individually and talk with us on a personal level during the ride. The horses were impressively calm and well trained. It was very apparent that they have put the time in to make them incredible trail riders. Overall an amazing experience. Thank you so much for the memories, views, and most of all the bond we built with our horses in the short time we spent with them.

The horses were so sweet and everyone that worked there was so good to us. We had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. This is a fun adventure for any family to enjoy while visiting the area and we will definitely be back!
