The Eye Center of Central PA – Allenwood

Very grateful for Dr Ou and all of the wonderful staff who helped me during my cataract surgery. Dr Ou was very reassuring and thoughtful. I was so very frightened to have the surgery and now I’m so relieved and happy I did. They all did a wonderful job and my eyesight is so very much better. Highly recommend Dr Ou and their services

I recently had cataract surgery done by Dr. Hartzell . I worried about the procedure and how it would affect my eye sight. Turned out Dr. Hartzell did an excellent job and now I only need glasses to read. I no longer have to wear my Rx. glasses after so many years. The staff that he has at both Allenwood and Williamsport are by far the nicest medical staff I ever had, in particular Lydia. My wife and I both had surgery and Lydia made everything so easy for us. We owe her a special thank-you for all her hard work and compassion she showed us.

Was in the surgery center side of building. My son had to have a procedure with his ears. Very nice people for the most part. My son was still trying to wake up from being put out. I felt a little pushed to hurry up and get him out. Other than that, great place with caring people- for the most part

Appointments run much more on time here

Regarding surgery, they did a great job, but they stack up patients so tightly that your follow up appointments take an unacceptable amount of time. My dad is 83. He should not have to sit there for so long! They need to work on the scheduling issues.

Competent surgeon. Staff not so much

Spouse is going thru a major trauma with eye. I was not allowed to go back and support her or even allow in building. I don't care what viruses there is you should be allowed to support and make serious decisions with your spouse when it comes to thier care! Was told that's their policy. Well that is a terrible policy!

Had eye surgery here which left my pupil permenately dilated. The surgeon just seemed to brush it off even though it never happened to him before. I have to live the rest of my life with my vision and eye this way. I seem to be the only one who cares.

The receptionist at the front desk, Denise, was very rude. I
made a mistake of bringing someone during covid. She handled very the situation poorly and told her she had to go outside to wait. We were the only two there! It could have been addressed much more professionally. Her whole attitude was unwelcoming.

Waited over 2 hours for an exam with Dr. Lightman. No apology or explanation. This place is a joke. They are so worried about Covid but have many people sitting in the waiting area for long periods because they are overbooked and disorganized.

The doctor's are knowledgabe and patient. The receptionist is rude and uncaring and should be replaced. This is my second interaction with her and she was worse today than before.
