City Seafood and Steak House

Cozy, friendly hole in the wall that will be a new staple for us when going through the area! The food and service was AMAZING! Hands down the best pork chop I’ve ever had and best steaks ever!! A bit expensive but you get a lot of food with it and won’t leave hungry and it’s well worth it!

Food was amazing! Not often I get to eat a home cooked high end meal that’s so flavorful. I ordered the filet mignon with sautéed crab on top. The meat was juicy and seasoned to perfection. ( BTW Don’t ask for steak sauce, they don’t serve it because it’s not necessary) The staff who I’m assuming are a husband and wife are very friendly and welcoming. They made us out of towners feel just as welcome as the locals that dine there often. Took a piece of pumpkin pie for the ride home as well… so yummy 😋

I would definitely come back, the staff was amazing, the atmosphere was nice and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing. A random shot in the dark when going but a very welcomed experience. Check this place out!

Went here for our 5th Anniversary and Jimmy and Cheryl made our experience there memoriable with great service, excellent food, and gd converstions. Highly recommend this place!

Took hubby out for his birthday and found this little gem hiding in Mahanoy City! Did was excellently prepared and service was great. Nice to see a husband and wife working together. We will be back!

Wonderful experience. So far beyond any typical restaurant visit. Cheryl provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made our family feel very much at home. She was especially good with our little one. Every possible need was met. And the food was, of course, very good. We look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you so much, Cheryl! :)

We had reservations and received a nice greeting at the door. Followed by great service and fantastic food! Wine glasses were offered for our byob wine. Great selection of entrees. We enjoyed the devil crab and one of the best steaks that I've had in a long time! We took our son and they have good options for kids. Although he ate all of the clam soup and my twice baked, he still loved his chicken and fries.
We will return soon.

Our first time at the City Seafood and Steakhouse. We went for dinner. My husband had deviled crab and I ordered scallops. The meals were delicious. Wouldn’t change a thing. It’s a husband and wife team and we were very happy with our dishes and their kindness. Keep up the great work.👍👏

First time visiting. Family run establishment is clean and provides a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. Food was wonderful! We will definitely visit again.

Truly enjoyed my sautéed crab. The crab was fresh and plentiful. Loved the baked potato…lite crisp skin and perfectly baked. Nice touch with the apple sauce as it refreshed the pallet. Service was great and the atmosphere was cozy.

We were camping in nearby Locust Lake State Park, and looking for a decent dinner on a Monday evening, when many restaurants in the area are closed. We didn't want the usual burger/sandwiches/pizza menu, and this place looked promising so we drove over. We almost didn't stop because the entire front of the restaurant was blocked by yellow tape, but I could tell it was probably because the sidewalk had been recently resealed. Drove around the corner and saw a guy standing in the doorway of a sub shop so I asked him about the restaurant. He said it was open and we could get in by going through the sub shop, so we parked and went in.

We were very skeptical at first - the place was empty and the owner (the guy who was standing in the doorway) had to turn on the lights for us. It all seemed rather sketchy but the owner was very friendly and persuaded us to stay, guaranteeing us an excellent meal. Then he told us it was BYOB (despite the beer paraphernalia on the walls), suggested we could get beers to go from across the street. When we hesitated, he kindly offered us a couple of cold cans of suds from his private supply, on the house.

I had the baked crab au gratin, my wife had Chilean sea bass, both with baked potatoes and a side salad. All the food was really quite well made and delicious, and needless to say the service was excellent, since we were the only ones there (and probably the only customers that day).

A great example of why you shouldn't judge a restaurant based on a first impression - you might miss a great meal and a unique experience.

We didn't have reservations but the owner was very friendly and accommodating. The ribs were very good. Loved the coleslaw as well.

Delicious. Scallops were very fresh, filet cooked to perfect rare. The tirimasu probably the best in the area. We will be back.

Met the owners on a recent trip to a local box top store and learned of a restaurant husband an wife operated in Mahanoy City. I visited and found the restaurant to be clean with a charming an warm welcoming decor. Ordered steak my wife and mother in law ordered seafood plater. The steak was excellent seafood platters were also excellent. I found a new favorite restaurant in Schuylkill County. I can't wait to go again and try the crab cakes, according to wife an mother in law they are delicious. According to owners they are there for 20 + years. I can't believe I lived my whole life in Schuylkill County and never knew of this great 5 star restaurant.

We recently stopped in at City Seafood and Steakhouse for the first time.I can't believe we never found this awesome restaurant.The atmosphere was very cozy and very clean. Our dinner which we all got different seafood was extremely fresh and delicious.Homemade fries were great .Stuffed mushrooms were excellent as well. Our service was great thanks to our waitress.This will not be the last time we come here .Cant wait to come back Soon .Hidden treasure close to home!!

What a wonderful restaurant. I can't believe we have never been here before. The seafood is outstanding and fresh. The owners are engaging and its great to see their passion for fresh food. Try the coal regions best seafood restaurant.

my fiance and I came to this restaurant a few weeks ago..I never knew how unbelievable the food would be..I had to try the filet , which was like butter in your mouth and the flavor..hmmph probably as great if not better than the world renowned steak houses in Vegas! My fiance had tried the crab au grautin , which he loved..also tried the lobster bisque soup and the stuffed mushrooms that were hands down the best i ever had. I am a FREQUENT fine diner and a darn good cook personally. That is why I HIGHLY recommend this place..oh and did i mention the ambience and service???? Bellissimo! I have already promoted this to tons of friends....Give yourself one the best experiences and food and jUST GO!!!
