Forksville’s Big Mike’s Steaks & Hoagies

Big Mike's is definitely worth making a stop for if you're in the area. Very close to World's End State Park and not too far from Rickett's Glenn, makes a perfect excuse to go for a little scenic drive to charming Forksville! Big Mike's is located right next to a beautiful covered bridge and scenic view of the river and mountains. Absolutely stunning location in a quaint town, they have plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the views. The store itself is a mix of general store, gift shop, and restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and Big Mike himself was there serving drinks! I would absolutely stop back again next time we are camping in the area.

Great place for cheesesteaks. Mike is so nice and we chatted about music while checking out. We got the Dean Martin cheesesteaks which has a garlic butter sauce and sharp aged provolone. The menu was a little misleading to me at first because it says there's a "butter" sauce on the DM sandwich, but it was the same garlic butter sauce as was on the sweet potato fries side (called Garlic Sweets). So just know that it's a garlic butter sauce on the DM and not just a butter sauce. Really great food and service!

Been going to the general store since I was a baby, roughly 28 years. Big Mike owned it since then and really has made the general store an icon and a must stop. Always friendly, great service and FAST! Amazing food and cheese steaks! All the food is fantastic. Always a nice atmosphere and a place to warm up with a coffee and breakfast after a morning hunt or fishing. Prices are on point and affordable. I'd give them 10/5 stars if I could.

Family run genuine Philly Cheesesteak place. Food and service are top notch. Award winning, in fact! Indoor and outdoor seating with Puppy bowls for your pet to enjoy. This is a friendly place to enjoy a meal.

This place is an awesome spot to stop and grab a bite when you’re out for a ride. The food was great and the service was just as good. You can also sit outs by the water and enjoy the view while you eat your food. Plus it’s always nice to see some of PA’s many covered bridges. If you get up to this area. I highly recommend you stop in and check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Stopped by here to get a bite eat after looking at some properties... They had the BEST cheese steak I have ever eaten. Server was great, service was fast, food was hot and fresh! Will be back here for sure!

Having been to World's End state park several times, I drove past the covered bridge, I've seen the building and often wondered, even wanted to drive by or stop in for the sample of small town charm. Yesterday was the first time I've done so, and I have to say:
Big Mikes Steak & Hoagies offer the best food on the planet.
I ride motorcycles, and as motorcyclists often do, we drive 200 miles just to get a bite to eat. I probably have to been to 300 different places for food, so I am speaking from personal experience. Big Mikes beats all others! There is absolutely no doubt or question in my mind to make such a bold claim and I stand by it.
The absolute best garlic fries and steak and cheese on the planet!! Stop in and see for yourself! And tell Big Mike I said hello. (I had the distinct honor and absolute privilege of speaking with him yesterday and, I can tell you, he is a stand up guy! An absolute pleasure!)

This place is outstanding. You couldn't pick a better setting, and these folks took the high road with all of the COVID restrictions and made it work. General merchandise can be purchased at the window, and they also had a tent outside. Order at the window, and then pick up at another window on the other side of the building. All food is in to-go packaging..they have plenty of picnic bench seating around the premises, but the prime spots are by the covered bridge..the food was delicious. Folks were super friendly. Masks are required when unable to social distance..this place is almost as good a reason to visit Worlds End State Park, as it is to visit the park itself. I can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed eating delicious cheese steaks at big Mike’s. Living in Bucks County on the outskirts of Philadelphia, we know what good cheese steaks are and his were delicious. Friendly family restaurant with good service and good eats. Our waitress Michelle was very helpful and we would highly recommend it.

My husband and I traveled to visit World's End State park. On the way there, you'll pass this cool looking restaurant right next to a covered bridge that you drive through first. We are glad we stopped here to grab something to eat. We were greeted right when we came in and the server was very nice, friendly and attentive to your needs, which is lacking nowadays. We gave our server extra tip because how awesome she was. Food was excellent, tasty cheesesteaks. Mozarella sticks were on par as well. Will be coming back here on our next visit next year! Thank you for the wonderful service.

A nice rustic store with a restaurant operated in the back. The cheese steak was absolutely delicious. Great flavors, soft warm bread, and a good amount of meat inside especially for the price. Definitely a legitimate cheese steak.

Service was fantastic. The waitress was prompt and handled all my questions and requests very nicely. Food came fairly fast as well.

My only criticisms are that I wish it were served cut in half and it was a bit greasy so the bread fell apart underneath but it's a cheese steak, that happens. The garlic butter might not have helped that, but it really made a difference in taste so I wouldn't say take that off.

I came here with a large party to celebrate the purchase of a family cabin, the wait staff was welcoming and helpful. Our drink order was taken within minutes of sitting down and our waitress checked in with us frequently and answered any questions we had. THE MENU is a dream!!! So much variety and everything sounds delicious. Our table got a variety of hoagies to share and I will say I still think about the Diablo cheesesteak, the butter sauce that is on it is other worldly. We also got the fried pickles, the dirty fries as appetizers, to say they were delicious would be an understatement. As someone who grew up near the Philly area I will say that these hoagies really do give you a taste of philly!!
I also wanted to take a moment and mention our specific waitress, she heard we were celebrating and she brought us funnel cake fries on the house. The funnel cake fries were incredible! All around a 12/10 experience and the food is superb! We will be coming here every time we come up to our cabin!

Definitely a worthy visit! My partner and I ordered breakfast and it was absolutely delicious and affordable. We instantly ordered the s'mores french toast....how could we resist!? Melted chocolate and marsh-mellows cascading over fluffy french toast...every hungry camper's dream! We also ordered sausage, bacon, eggs, and a biscuit slathered in gravy for much-needed energy! It definitely was a flavorful visit!

Legit cheese steaks in the middle of nowhere! Not to mention the dirty jersey fries! I'm still full and it's been two days lol!!!

Less than a five minute drive out of Worlds End State Park, we were thrilled to find a spot that offers a great menu, and excellent food. (Their cheesesteaks are awesome!)

The general store wasn't accessable, as they focused their attentions on their take out service. Staff were friendly and taking appropriate safety precautions. Their large outdoor seating by the creek made for a comfortable experience, and offered nice atmosphere.

Next time we're in the area, we will be stopping again.

Hands down, best cheesesteak I’ve had!!! The folks working there couldn’t have been more friendly as well. If you’re looking for a top notch cheesesteak with breathtaking scenery to go with it, skip the trip to a city and head to Big Mike’s in Forksville!!!

Holy Christmas, I think I found a very hidden gem. Back behind the back woods of PA, this quaint little restaurant. Outdoor seating only, but that's part of the charm, I'm glad they're forcing people outdoors. It doesn't matter what you get, it's all delicious! The food, the atmosphere, I will DEFINITELY be going back! With more people this time. I can't wait!!
