Lakewood Lodge and Restaurant

Stayed overnight for one night and by far was the best experience. The history of this inn was an old railroad inn, the atmosphere was welcoming, the room was top notch, good bed, the bathroom was very clean. The hot breakfast that comes with the room was amazing. The price of the room was well worth adventuring 17 miles off the highway into the mountains. The owner was great, he welcomed us in the morning. Had great conversations. 10/10 will come here again and stay.

Lakewood Lodge and Restaurant exceeded all expectations during my recent visit. Lindsey served perfectly seasoned meatballs smothered in rich marinara sauce and gooey melted cheese 🍝 with onion rings and beers with lime to drink 🍺.

After eating, Jim provided me with a room upstairs. The apartment-style accommodation was spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. From the cozy bed to the well-appointed bathroom, every detail was thoughtfully designed to ensure a relaxing experience.

Wish I found this place sooner!

Went there with a bunch of friends on a Saturday afternoon. The bartender was terrific! Handled all our drink and food orders wonderfully even though we were a large group. It was a cold afternoon so I ordered French Onion Soup. Absolutely delicious! Everyone there was so accommodating. Moved and set up a table for our group. Really made us feel welcomed there!

Stopped in after an afternoon skiing at Elk since we were not up to making dinner for ourselves. Reminded us of our favorite family restaurant back home. The woman working bar and serving tables was very helpful and kind, and every bar patron that passed our table on the way to the restroom said hello. What a friendly atmosphere. We got a large pizza, hoagie, wings, and two orders of fries under 50 bucks, in the middle of the mountains. More than good enough for me. We ate the fries on the ride home and they were the perfect appetizer. The rest of the food was very good but the wings stood out. I got the hot sauce and the flavor was perfect. Warmed me right up after a cool day skiing. Thanks guys if we come back we will definitely be back

My family came to the lodge and restaurant to celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful lunch with plenty of food. The service was excellent. We did not stay at the lodge.

We found this place by chance!! Coming from Virginia we had a big mix up with our pre booked hotel. After calling all the “big name” or popular known hotels who either didn’t have a room or were asking outrageous prices because it was last minute and on a weekend, we found this Gem! We booked easily online and then called to make sure they had the reservation. The staff was so friendly and quickly made our room available with no hesitation. This lodge is located in a beautiful scenic area that is so warm and welcoming.
We were welcomed by a wonderful staff in the restaurant and then showed to our room, it was facing the front road but had a private parking place right by the stairs to the porch leading to the rooms. The room is very clean and the beds are 10000% better then any hotel I have ever stayed at. The bathroom is small but clean and well stocked with extra soap and shampoo! And the towels were Soft and clean, not thin like you normally get. The room did include a microwave and mini fridge.
When I am in the area this will always be my first pick to stay for now on. I can’t wait to come back and explore the area more.
So if you are in the area and want a comfortable quiet place to stay that won’t break your wallet, this is it!
I also can’t wait to try the restaurant it seems like a popular place and the smells from the kitchen are drool worthy.

The wife and spent a night here. It was a wonderful stay. This is a really cool rustic old hotel with great atmosphere. Our room had antique furniture and lamps which I presume has furnished that room since (what I would guess was) the 1920s. The room had a modern TV though, which was nice.

The entire staff was super friendly. The restaurant served very good food. On Friday night there was very good musical entertainment at the bar. We really loved the breakfast buffet on Saturday morning.

We were a bit thrown off by the fact that there was no front desk. Sometimes it was hard to figure out who worked there and who was a guest. We were a little confused when it was time to check in and out. That is not really a major complaint though—just an odd quirk.

We hope to stay at Lakewood again if/when we are around that way again.

Stopped in at 9:30 on Saturday 8/7 for the 8 am to 11 am Saturday and Sunday brunch with my friend. It was wonderful and very reasonable for $12.00 per person. Large assortment of very fresh and delicious dishes including fresh fruit, assorted pastries, french toast,, a lovely frittata, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, fruit compote, juices, coffee, tea and other items. We ate outside under the covered porch and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Will be back again. Thank you Lakewood Lodge for the lovely morning.

We had a great stay at lake wood lodge. We were group of 2 families stayed in adjoining rooms connected with ful sound proof as i could barely hear my partner snoring . Break fast was best and the entire family enjoyed especially the fresh buttermilk pancakes. Also we ordered appetizers of which are reasonbly priced. (Avoid chicken wings :)) The staffs were all friendly and accomodating. The manger was kind enough to pack us sandwiches before heading to a nearby ski mountain. We would definately come back next time.

Very appreciative of the waitress and the staff who took care of 10 dirty/muddy ATV riders today without a complaint. Good food. It all added to a great day. Can't wait to return and enjoy this restaurant's food and people. 👍🏻👍🏻

Great place on the D&H trail to go eat

Food and service was great. Had the chicken parmigiana here, freshly cooked chicken, homemade crispy fries. Friend had a meatball parm sub she loved too. Outdoor seating was lovely on a beautiful November day. We will be back.

For the hotel - Place was packed on Friday night. Service was top shelf. More of a late night spot so a coffee pot before 7:30a would be nice. Room had one plug (used by AC and TV) so phone chargers had to go in the bathroom. Extension cords, table/counter in bathroom and another bed table would be PERFECT. Other than that it was ideal. I really wanted to hit the saloon in the evening and if dinner was as good as breakfast, we missed out for sure.

This was an awesome place to stay the room was simple but nice and clean and comfy felt more private and quiet we had arrived in PA to visit my son and brand-new grand baby the hotel reservations we had made at another place turned out to be a joke after multiple calls to hotels in the area on a Friday afternoon were over priced because we're last minute and few were very rude bad way to run a business my daughter called the lodge explained our circumstances and they were very friendly and gave us a room no problem it was set in country and had a bar and restaurant we ate there the second night the food and atmosphere was great their smallest prime rib could have fed 2 I would highly recommend this lodge they had other types of lodging available my daughter and I in the future will book our stay with them any time we travel there I would recommend this place to anyone who asks .

My wife and I I found Lakewood Lodge just doing a Google search trying to find a cute little spot with a restaurant/bar. Upon arrival we were happily surprised to see the parking lot full of vehicles and 2 visible snowmobiles in the rear of the lodge. We checked in and we escorted to our room ! What a change from just being told where to go and handed a key. After settling in we perused the television channels and admired the view we had of the evening sky. 7:45 P.M. we headed to the dining room and ordered the veal Parmigiano and boneless wings the portions were perfect and the waitess was very polite and attentive even with the bar full and the game on t.v !
We will be coming back though to explore the atv and snowmobile trails and to have a great dinner again ! Thank you all

P.S. did we mention the breakfast is cooked to order and included in the room price. What a great surprise as we were leaving the owner told us he would make us breakfast right then and there and not to go anywhere even though we were leaving earlier than anyone else.

We stopped in on our ATV's for dinner. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting . I ordered a cheeseburger and it was damn good! The fries are home made and yummy.

Food is always good. Sometimes its a burger , sometimes Chicken Fingers. It doesn't matter , everything is always good! Great place to stop alongside the trail. Its been a go-to place for years for my son and I. Wouldn't want to break tradition.

A great place to bring yourself and family to have a delicious meal and a couple of drinks. Very remote location. Staff are welcoming and very hospitable.

The restaurant and bar are very nice the staff and the bartender are very nice.
Food we ordered was very good.

Good food that was hot and cooked to perfection. Kinda biased review cause I grew up around here and we all know there's nothing better than home cooking.
